kirbysprite 06-16-2009 12:26 AM

Fiesta. Or a 3D browser shooter. That's what I'm about to do.

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 12:27 AM

You could always watch a movie.

Fighterboy 06-16-2009 12:31 AM

Lmao @ Joe Pesci!

A_Forever 06-16-2009 12:44 AM

Can't play games anymore.

Can't think of any movies to watch. Don't want to watch any my brother owns. There aren't any on Netflix that I want to watch.

Fighterboy 06-16-2009 01:08 AM

Poor you...

A_Forever 06-16-2009 01:13 AM

Brother called. Asked if I had dinner yet. (Obviously.. no)

He's picking me something up. Dunno what. Knowing him... it'll be super unhealthy.

Lirange 06-16-2009 01:13 AM

A_Forever 06-16-2009 01:16 AM

Likely. Very Likely.

A_Forever 06-16-2009 01:31 AM

Is what brown? Duck sauce?

Duck sauce is orange.

kirbysprite 06-16-2009 01:32 AM

It's a sauce made our of duck. It's probably yellow.

Read that as "crab raccoon" at first. I was wondering where the hell the Chinese would have gotten hold of one of those little bastards.

Omg. He also went to Primo's(Coffee place) and got me a Java shake. Omgarrr.. Soo gooooood

Vasu 06-16-2009 03:38 AM

Well atleast you have a computer with internet. When I went to Chennai, there was no comp, no TV, and I only had one book from the WoT series which I had already read 3 times. I actually got bored enough to move my butt over to the theatre, and watched Angels and Demons, Watchmen and Start Trek. Most I've ever seen in a week. The remaining days were so boring. I couldn't even go out and have fun because everybody speaks Tamil! Damn India and it's multicultural heritage.

Jikanu 06-16-2009 03:39 AM

How was watchmen?

A_Forever 06-16-2009 03:43 AM

Star Trek was/is awesome.

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 03:44 AM

I always liked going to a place where I didn't speak the language. A phrasebook + a few beers = good times. Never got to "My hovercraft is full of eels" levels...but they were always memorable times, LOL.

Edit: Star Trek was awesome. It's a shame about Star Trek: Rise of the Lens Flare, though.

A_Forever 06-16-2009 03:48 AM

Ha.

Vasu 06-16-2009 03:52 AM

Watchmen was good. Lacked a villain though. :O

Jikanu 06-16-2009 03:56 AM

I read about it on wikipedia; didnt go to see the movie. but honestly, the villain is up for you to decide; SPOILERS IN NINJA TEXT: Was Ozymandias the villain for killing innocents, or was he good for working towards a common good? Was Dr. Manhattan the villain for killing Rorschach, or was Rorschach the villain for opposing ozymandias's methods? Personally, i side with Rorschach. "Never Comprimise".

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 03:57 AM

You would, LOL. Rorschach was mentally unhinged, and not in a good way, like Deadpool.

Jikanu 06-16-2009 03:59 AM

Perhaps, but in the end he refused to give up his morals for the easy way out, and sacrificed himself for them. Is that not, to some degree, what a hero is defined as?

Besides, he was the only interesting hero in there who didnt show off his radioactive genitles.

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 04:14 AM

James von Brunn and Scott Roeder stuck to their moral principles and sacrificed their futures for what they believed in. I wouldn't consider them heroes. Some might.

Jikanu 06-16-2009 04:18 AM

i mean the principal of not comprimising for peace. Roeder killed for Life, therefore doing what Ozymandius did. Von Brun was a nazi, so that's very much an extreme example. Rorschach was saying that you cant comprimise and kill for peace.

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 04:32 AM

And yet he called the rape of Sally merely a moral lapse on the part of the Commedian. He obsessed over Veidt's sexuality, deeming it worthy of investigation because he thought homosexuals should be punished. His only comment to the knowledge his mother had been killed was "Good" because she was a whore. He was not a moral character except for in his head. There are no heroes in Watchmen. Rorschach is the very epitome of the sort of wild vigilante that raises the question, "Who watches the watchmen?"

Jikanu 06-16-2009 04:54 AM

i dont believe i called him moral. If i did, i misstated my point. i said he was correct at the end of the film, where he refused to kill to gain peace.

Also, i hadnt read about the part about Viedt or his opinion on the Comedian. His mother, however, abused him, i believe i read somewhere... please correct me if im wrong.

Lets not hi-jack the thread and make it another of our "Mature Discussions" debates, though...

Hraesvelg 06-16-2009 05:03 AM

Eh, you said he refused to give up his morals. From that, I took it to mean you thought he was a moral person. Morality is a slippery thing. I think the end was more of a selfish act. He wanted to die.

His mother did abuse him, yes. Did you read the graphic novel, are have you only seen the movie?

Jikanu 06-16-2009 05:07 AM

neither. didnt want to see the nudity and sex scenes involved, so i read as much as i could about the storyline elsewhere, as i was still massively intrigued by the morality questions.

By "Morals" I meant what he was fighting for. Ozymandias sold out, in a way. He fought for peace by murdering millions.
