RPGs?
 

Can people suggest some really good, long RPGs (no MMOs) which I can play? I don't want something modern-ish, I'd rather something like Jade Empire, you know, set in more ancient times. I need some good games to provide sustenance in my 3 month summer vacation!. :D

I suggest The World Ends With You. Creative RPG, Redefines the Genre, GREAT storyline, and fantastic art/music. Look it up, it's great. my personal all time favorite.

I agree with you, but that's not really the "long" RPG he's looking for... TWEWY can be beaten in two days. o-o

Good ol' Diablo?

Not if you go for the darklit planets set. That'll take you a few months, along with all the other sidequests it's got, like the secret reports and stuff.

eh, don't know any ds games. But ps2/ps3 probably has better rpg games. Well if you have a ps2, i highly suggest dark cloud 2. One of the best unknown games out there. I haven't even finished it. Many hours can be put into it. Theres so many things to do besides follow the main storyline, which is great btw.

Also of course, final fantasy X and kingdom hearts. 2rpg you have to play if your a fan of rpg's.

not sure if i played it before, was it the one with vivi? unless all of them have vivi.. the one where you can jump rope and theres a play in the beginning. is that vii?

Well, you could pick up some good ol' Breath of Fire games, or Fire Emblem series was always a favorite of mine as well. I have been having a blast playing TES: 4 Oblivion, again, also Morrowind is great, as Hrae said. Fable 2 is also good for a playthrough or 2, although unless you plan on buying all the properties, doing sidequests/rare weapons, it can be considered a very short game for just the story on one playthrough.

I guess I should have mentioned I only have a PC. :o

I do have VBA, but I want a more absorbing, 3D type RPG.

Final Fantasy-VII is the one with Cloud and Sephiroth. FF IX is the one with Zidane, Vivi and all. 9 was my favorite <3




Also recommend Riviera, Yggdra Union and Advance Wars. Though they're more Strategy than RPG.

I couldn't figure out Riviera. lol. I loaded the game and I had the two little people get to a bridge (?) thing and then I got stuck...... It was like the first screen.

That's what I remember anyway... haha. xD


After Fire Emblem, I didn't like Advance Wars.

Deus Ex? It's a quasi-RPG. Not incredibly long, though.

Great replay value though.

Both Morrowind and Oblivion can be found on the PC, and Deus Ex is a great game, although I think it's more of a "you either love it or hate it" kind of games.

I'm DL'ing Morrowind. Once I start playing it, I'll download Deus Ex.

There were people who didn't like Deus Ex? I mean, Deus Ex 2 was a letdown, but the original should have been universally beloved, heh.

starcraft! not an rpg, but you can get addicted easily.
and dota! More of an rpg game, except no storylines, and you play against each other. I definetly think you should try dota. Seems like your downloading yoru games so i can give you a torrent link and tellyou how to play with other people not using bnet. Dota is probably the longest game i've played. Even though i sometimes take breaks from it.

DoTA is a strategy game. I used to play it, but it's not fun unless it's multiplayer.

Eh, I knew some people who hated the game, but I knew quite a bit more who loved it, though. I do agree with you on how DE2 was a big letdown, but I guess it's worth a once around if you liked the first one.
