nationwide

I just saw a commercial for the Nationwide(car insurance) app for the iphone.

They said they have a customer forum so you can exchange information with the other driver.

...

Um...

Wouldn't the other driver be right there? Like literally... right there.

I picture two people with iphones standing right in front of eachother talking to eachother on their phones.

A_Forever 05-25-2009 03:47 PM

Ahahahahaha xD

Yosei 05-25-2009 03:52 PM

Another reason added to my list of why I hate the iphone >;o lol

Vasu 05-25-2009 04:10 PM

I guess you can also exchange information with drivers who aren't right there?

Yosei 05-25-2009 05:21 PM

I don't see how that'd work.

Vasu 05-25-2009 05:48 PM

Well, then how does exchanging info with the driver in front of you work?

A_Forever 05-25-2009 05:49 PM

You write down your info and give it to each other?

Actually.. you are suppose to call the police and they send an officer and the officer gets all the info as well so yeahh..

Oh and if you say, "What if they had no pen or paper?" well.. so what.. not everyone has an iPhone either.

Vasu 05-25-2009 05:51 PM

So when you write down he info, you can communicate with him even when he far away, right?

Hyper 05-25-2009 05:55 PM

Omg this is just what I always needed!

What the hell are you talking about?

Do you mean, you write down the info and when you both leave you can contact each later? Like in a few days? Or what?

I'm just talking about being there at the site of the accident or whatever.

But again.. Its very unlikely that both people would have an iPhone o_o So for one to go on that forum thing and try to get his/her info to the other driver who doesn't have an iPhone or other means of receiving it is pointless. So they would still need paper and pen.

Vasu 05-25-2009 06:18 PM

Never mind, I didn't understand the concept at first.

Then I realised it didn't have one.

Yosei 05-25-2009 06:38 PM

If you get in a wreck, you have to stop, call the police, and like she said, the cops gets the info. But if you have insurance, most people exchange info.

Thats why I asked why would someone need an iphone to exchange info. And even afterwards, you have your computer, and phone. I don't think anything would be so urgent that you'd have to break out your iphone and talk to them lol.

Hessah 05-26-2009 12:18 AM

After you've exchanged infos... don't you have to contact the other person on how much the wreck is gonna cost and get the $$ out of their insurance (if it was their fault?)

Unless the Insurance company is meant to do all that for you =/ I'm not sure xD

Loveless 05-26-2009 12:54 AM

They think of every possible app possible. Whether it is practical and/or useful is another story.

Good ol' paper and pen. (Has failed so many)

But still, is it so urgent you'd have to use your cellphone? D:

A_Forever 05-26-2009 01:33 AM

OffTopic-Camilo(Kid from my school) has an iPhone and everyday I'm around him he's like, "Hey. So.. I got this app.."

Everytime he says it I crack up because one time he was showing me an app that was just pick-up lines. I imagine him trying to impress a girl with apps or when he's trying to get a girl, he'll whip out his phone and be like, "Pick up lines.. pick up lines..."

Hessah 05-26-2009 01:44 AM

They have the weirdest app... I saw someone that's got a pop the bubble wrap application...

how's poking a screen gonna give u the same fun from popping a real bubble wrap?!

though it was still kinda funny LOL

Yosei 05-26-2009 01:46 AM

They're running out of things to invent and develop, so they made apps.

A_Forever 05-26-2009 01:48 AM

Camilo has one where the screen like.. fills up with Milk or Beer and then he tilts it to one side and it empties like someone is drinking it.

A_Forever 05-26-2009 01:49 AM

Just saw the commercial.

Kathy Sheer! (Probably not spelled right.)
