-recalls all these other horrible pictures I've seen through forward emails-

I went to AX in 2007 and there were cosplayers walking around the nearby food places and stuff. Some of the people around them stared and asked "Is there some event going on or something?" A few others said some other stuff that I think were not so nice.

It's certainly an odd feeling being in costume and other people don't know about an event going on. I've had to get gas a few times on my way to a Renaissance Festival and people think you've gone mad.

If anyone does plan on going somewhere costumed, I highly suggest bringing a set of civilian clothing in case things go awry.
