I get that a lot at uni comps with my USB...... =.=

Does your comp have another slot where you can plug it? If so, have you tried the other ones?

I had a lot at my school. What I usually did was:

1. Plug in the small extension USB cable that came with my flashdrive.

2. Plug in the flashdrive in the back of the computer.

Not sure if this will work.. but I would probably try Control Panel --> Add new hardware and see if it could look for ur USB drive...

oh u're using vista? it should be like... auto!

It's under Device Manager on Vista...

Try Action --> Scan for hardware changes... or the other option... =/

arghh! nothing! stupid broken plug in!

Try Control Panel > Switch to classic view > Device manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers > Right click "USB Composite Device" > Update driver software.

EDIT: If that fails, try the "Add new hardware" wizard.

Try to restart.

I know sometimes I had this problem when I told my computer to safely remove the hardware from the last time I used the port.
