School Shooting.....Another

Classmates of the gunman, who they identified as Justin Doucet, said they were surprised by his actions, but noted they found his love for Marilyn Manson and knowledge of Adolf Hitler facts to be odd. Three boys at the school share the name Justin Doucet, but only one of them is in eighth grade, classmates and parents of school-children said.
No one besides the gunman was injured during the shooting. The gun, a .25-caliber nickel plate semi-automatic, belonged to the shooter's father, Webre said.
School and law enforcement officials stressed during an afternoon press conference that the school was safe and that parents had no reason to worry about their children's safety. The school shooting was the first in Lafourche Parish in recent memory, officials said.
The school, which houses approximately 500 students between grades six and eight, was put on lockdown following the shooting. After students were searched for weapons, parents were allowed to pick up their children at the VFW Hall about a half a mile behind the school.
Police later declared the school as safe around 2:30 p.m. It is expected to be open Tuesday morning with added security, Lafourche Superintendent Jo Ann Matthews said.
Metal detectors were not in use at the front entrance of the school this morning. It is believed Doucet entered the school through a back entrance, officials said.
Doucet walked into Jessica Plaisance's seventh-grade English class shortly before 9 a.m., screaming obscenities and demanding everyone get down, according to students in the class.
When the students remained seated, Doucet told Plaisance to say "Hail Marilyn Manson." His gun did not go off the first time he attempted to shoot her.
The second time he pulled the trigger a bullet went above Plaisance's head, leaving a hole in the wall and dust sprinkled across the classroom.
Students in Plaisance's class say Doucet asked one of their classmates, who they identified as Toby Smith, to leave the classroom with him. Despite Doucet's promise that he would not hurt Smith, the seventh-grader remained seated.
Doucet exited the classroom and walked to a nearby bathroom. Moments later, students reported hearing a single gunshot.
Police are investigating what caused Doucet to enter Plaisance's classroom. Sheriff Craig Webre said a preliminary theory was that the class was near a bathroom, where Doucet had changed from his khaki shorts to camoflauge pants.
