*$^%*%&@#(*@ Right in the middle of a KQ

Well we are about to fight the first Mara and Marlone when we get the Notice that Teva is going down sooner than expected. Well, that absolutely sucks! So, we decided to go for Mara and Marlone at the same time. We were a little unorganized, and I was the only person with revive and only the one out of 2 healers.

Needless to say I now understand how to say no(!) to 50 people asking for a revive.

P.S. We killed Marlone, but got d/c'd fighting Mara.

Hessah 10-19-2007 04:44 AM

taking on Mara AND Marlone at the same time? waoh u guys are gamed!

yeah u end up ignoring people... but usually they're very understanding... usually.. keke

ThievingSix 10-19-2007 04:45 AM

We weren't planning on taking both, but in the rush someone agro'd and ya' know how it goes.

Hessah 10-19-2007 04:46 AM

HAHAHa so it's not "WE decided to take on Mara and Marlone"

it's "MARLONE decided we should take them both on" kekeke

ThievingSix 10-19-2007 05:30 AM

I really "lol"'d at that.

PwnageCleric 10-19-2007 05:36 AM

as i get it was a accident but i've done it many times as a tanker xD
there are 2 ways but both take a lot of clerics for sure
*1 tanker:1400+ hp would help a lot lol aka boost yourself with cleric buff, vit[2] and you'll do it ez, ofc def scroll too ;)
*2 tankers: weaker will take aggro and most heals and dps.
second tank will take 1 or 2 clerics and just survive while other boss is killed so after it whole dps goes on it :)

It aint hard btw. as of i tanked since lvl 17 all my mara kq's by myself, since i was lvl 20+ we took 2 bosses same time, so yeah ^^

ThievingSix 10-19-2007 05:40 AM

I am not saying its hard, I am saying that having a level 21 and level 17 cleric doesn't work.

MagesRequiem 10-19-2007 05:47 AM

Reminds me of a Mara Kingdom Quest I did not too long ago. I was playing my Cleric (which I no longer have) and it looked like a pretty damn decent party. Until some people began rushing off. Then when we finally made it to the fake Mara and Marlone we began dying off, one by one. Then when one of our Fighters revived she went and ran straight into Marlone. Which got her killed.

I chewed her out for it then the only Cleric in our group with Revive came by and caught Marlones attention. Unfortunately, I was too close and got caught in his AoE along with the stupid Cleric. I had already died two times before this so I just teleported back to Roumen. I was so annoyed and when I heard the GM announce that Apoline was going to be down I just said "Eff this, i'm logging off now". I'm tired of getting stuck in Kingdom Quests filled with incompetent morons. ~_~

You do realize that some of these, what did you call them?, incompetent morons, are kids. My son plays this game and he is only 11, I have yet to let him try a KQ, because of people like you, who might not realize that not everyone can be as smart as you (that was with saracasm), and that it may be their first KQ, or they may be a child!! Or that some people make mistakes.
I was recently in a Pirates KQ, where while we were all shroomed up, someone shroomed too close to Mara and pulled her. No one bitched, yelled, or cussed this person out. We all just jumped out of our shrooms, a cleric revived the poor dead mushroom, and we took her out. In that same KQ, I pulled the real Marlone and Mara in the end, however, I was forced to pull a fake Mara due to positioning, Everyone said that is was fine, because some people needed her for their quests. After we took the fake Mara out, I was able to pull the real Mara, however, I pulled her too soon, and when I ran back down the stairs, everyone was still shroomed up. No one yelled at me, or called me a moron. They all jumped up and took her out, a cleric revived me, and we succeeded. The point is, I was in there with a great group of people, who laughed about the things we were doing and it was FUN. We didn't have anyone in there that thought he/she was the greatest thing that ever walked through Isya.
It is a game and kids play games too. If you cannot comprehend that, and everything that everyone does annoys you, maybe it is you that might need to take a break from the game.

P.S. Hopefully this is not construde as flaming, but every post I read from you, is you criticizing other people and it annoys me. If you are a child, you need to rethink the way you view things, and if you are an adult, then quit acting like a child.

QFT

Yet there are sometimes, where people do do-it just to make everyone else angry. I remember one of my first KQ's we had someone pull 3-4 fakes at the end just because he didn't get into the main tanks party.

The problem is there are people who are younger and more mature and expect everyone else to be. In fact, 75% of the KQ's I did have these people. Just like the kids and that we have to be understanding of them, we should be understanding of the people that have a hard time understanding(if that makes any sense ^.^).

All in all, the person who pulled marlone said he was sorry and noone gave it a second look. Everyone forgave him and we went on. No 'biggie.

Thanks sweetie! Momma needed a reminder too as she has gotten irritated with people pulling the fakes also. It may have been unintentional (except one person who shall remain nameless [mostly cuz I have to think too hard to recall his name right now]) or it may have been that the fake was in the way. Unless you are at the top of the steps to see the other side (which, BTW, makes you very vulnerable to instant death) you really can't be sure how it came down the way it did.

We need to keep reminding all of us to be more patient and understanding.

Also, I was in a Pirate KQ when it went down also - just saw that as a sign I needed to call it a day and go to bed :)

O-mie 10-19-2007 03:03 PM

Totally agree. You can either be a victim or a victor - your choice how you deal with things that come at you.

Blaaaaaaaah 10-19-2007 03:29 PM

Haha, Spirit's post also gave me a wake up call. I always yell at those who did something stupid. -Tries to calm self down-

-Turns around and yell at Dyna-

Stryfe 10-19-2007 03:58 PM

Your post was filled with so much insults, and other unnecessary remarks. And all that for what? Because someone got you killed in a game? It's not even to the point where they intentionally harassed you, or tried to kill anyone for that matter. People make mistakes. Sure, there are those who seem highly incapable of working in a group during KQs, and make more mistales than others but it's not as if they're intentionally trying to make anyone's gamign experience worse. Words such as that is better reserved for the truely deserving.

There are many things that causes group experiences such as Kingdom Quests unenjoyable. One being the situation that you've mentioned in your post, and the other situation when one looks down on others and "Chews them out" for a mistake they made in a game. Now, let me ask this, which do you think results in a more ruined gaming experience?

Thank god for the Mini Dragon KQs, for the time being.

I apologize for the rant. :x

No apology needed. What you said is the truth, the same as me. What makes the experience worse? People who constantly insult and "chew out" other people, or someone making a mistake? Even if they pull the wrong one or do something on purpose, people should always try to be better than them and just make the best of it.

ThievingSix 10-19-2007 10:08 PM

Woot, I started a trend of self realization. I think it gave everyone a wake-up call, including me. Sometimes we forget that we are not the center of the universe and that their are people other than us around.

KY_Jelly 10-19-2007 11:54 PM

to those saying people make mistakes. you guys do know that when i got bored on my archer I'd AOE three fake bosses at a time when i pulled right? some people (like me) really are just dicks and we are easily amused by little things that may or may not ruin other players experiences. and i know i'm not alone in this because every time i do it there is at least one other person laughing at everyone whining.

but back on topic. the GMs really do need to schedule their server down times more apropriately. I heard a horror story that Apoline went down when there was 4 seconds left on the Robo KQ. And this was a scheduled maintainance, not an emergency one. seems a bit unplanned dont ya think?

O-mie 10-20-2007 12:37 AM

^ Then you're the type of idiot who should be getting chewed out =O If you did that to me I'd have made you deaf, dumb(er) and blind from the amount of beration I'd give you =s But then I have to laugh at you for wasting silver on the archer AOE *chortle*

when you're measuring your in game worth in gold, buying level 20 skills is chump change.

and how exactly would you make me deaf? did fiesta implement some sort of text to speech?

ThievingSix 10-20-2007 02:34 AM

Hey hey now. Be nice everyone.

First part, as I said, there are those deserving of being "chewed out". There's nothing else really to say to that. Oh, and thanks for letting me know that you're a dick. Makes things easier for me.

Second Part, in most cases, server maintance is announced an hour or two advanced. The "early close" was a rare case in which it was an unexpected server maint.

ThievingSix 10-20-2007 03:25 AM

Usually games give day or week notices. Not hourly, or on the 10 minute marks.

Blaaaaaaaah 10-20-2007 03:31 AM

I don't see a problem with announcing maintenance an hour or two in advanced... I personally would just forget if they told us a whole week earlier.

MagesRequiem 10-20-2007 03:35 AM

If you've got a problem with me criticizing others and chewing them out then ignore me. I'm very opinionated and I will not change myself because you like sugar coating everything. Get over it, not everyone will be as nice and forgiving as you. There's an ignore feature on the forums, use it if you dislike my posts so much. I know people mistakes, and i'm fine with that. I really am because hell, even I mistakes. I don't always chew people out because of it. But when they're too stupid to pay attention and it costs me something like that then I get aggravated.

Like everyone else, I am trying to enjoy this game to the best of my ability but how do you propose I do that when I always get stuck in something like that, that fails? It gets extremely tiring after a while and like any other human, I have my breaking point. God forbid I speak my mind about it in an angry way. And as far as I know there's no rule that says I can't speak my mind in an angry way. Hell, at least I don't go shouting out their names. I did that once but will more than likely never do it again. So I am being slightly nice about it.

Lilian 10-20-2007 03:35 AM

Also, how exactly do you announce it a day or week early if it's unexpected maint. >_>

The whole thread is a bit questionable. Yes, it's unfortunate the server happened to go down when you were about to finish your KQ, but it doesn't really make good grounds for discussion. What can you reply to that? "Oh. That sucks man."

yeah...

rokaraged 10-20-2007 03:41 AM

Mage is entiled to his 1st admendment whether how offensive or not.

Mistakes are always made and are usually understandable...

But try to take it from another Point of view.
Your playing the game the only time you can this week, you've failed time after time again to get into a KQ and then finally you manage to get in. If you don't win this KQ you won't have another chance to get something done for a week. Everything goes very smoothly but at the last moment some random guy, you don't know whether it was an accident or he did it for kicks, kills EVERYONE and fails the KQ.....

Now before you jump the gun and start calling me a selfish bastard (and i've already accepted that too)..

But a lot of people do not like to lose money in stones scrolls and and most importantly wasted time do to very silly mistakes that should usually not happen. Whenever something like this happens people's progress are impeded and satisfaction is lost.....which makes the game not fun for other people.

Now CHEWING OUT SOMEONE, for small mistakes is obviously overboard especially over a FREE video game.I'm not pro-elitist or advocating that people be allowed to be assholes each other over video games, but do realize some people will not have fun over losses.

Remembers, theres a difference between CHEWING OUT SOMEONE, and criticism

Thank you Roka. You explained this to those in a more calm and cool manner. This is all i'm trying to say but you must understand its rather difficult to do when i'm pretty much being attacked by multiple. Yes, I do have anger issues and unfortunately I can't do anything about them so they just get bottled up and released on someone who it was never meant for. I ask you find it in your heart to forgive me, i'm usually not like this. I'm sorry.

From what I see it's a rant. Yet quite contrary to popular beliefs(I.E. Your post) it did turn out to spark a conversation.

My point about server down times, is you shouldn't have 3-4 unexpected maintences in the span of the week. Especially when it's one out of two servers that it's only happening to. I blame the administration for that honestly.

If something goes wrong, fix it. Goes wrong again? Fix it again and make sure it's fixed before putting it back online. Despite arguments I am going to here like "Stuff happens that you can't control" or "You just can't work out all the bugs of a game". Those are just excuses, from what I heard about the "unexpected" "emergency" maintence: it was just for minor things that you could have given more than an hour warning.

It's as simple as planning ahead.
