Price Gouging in Teva
 

Ever since the cap raise, T3 stones have been scarce on the Teva server. Last week, someone was trying to sell Xir3 for 75S (normally 25-35S). I thought that was bad until today. Right after the emergency maintenance was finished, some jerkwad put up a house full of T3Lix at 80Silver - that right 80 f'ing Silver!!! :arg:
WTF?!?!?

Yeah Damn.. I've been underpricing my stones LOL No wonder they disappear so quickly!

Funny enough.. price of +9s dropped... I bought a pair of lvl 64 Mage boots for 8.5g 2-3 months ago.. (it was reasonable back then)

Now.. they're only worth 6g... O___________o

All the prices of +9's are most likely dropping cuz of that bug. Lots of people had red/ blue/ gold eyes and stuff and enhanced as much as possible. x-x who knows... if this keeps up +9's will be worth 3g!!! ...for all lvls!!! X_X

Hmm I've noticed the price difference of +9 about a week ago, since I tried to sell it... Dont think it was entirely the bugs fault... though I wonder if it'll drop even further...

About +9s... back when my mage was lvl 50 I bought a +9 staff with pretty good stats for 1.5g. Now I paid 4.5g for a +9 GGK axe with crappy stats. I'm not too sure where this happened as the logical thing would be that now there are more +9s the prices would be lower.

Haha I am guilty of selling T3 Blessed/Lucky xir for 75s (unless you were saying that someone is selling regular ones for 75s). I was about to vend them for 50s when I noticed a shop selling them for 75s, so I tried the same price. They all amazingly sold out pretty quickly (too bad I only have a few!). Why do people buy them!?!? Not that I really mind since I made money out of it... but wow, people are rich haha.

You would think that with the enhancement stones being so expensive, +9s will rise a lot too but.. it's been about the same o-o.

But the ones that make me rage the most are the gears with so called "godly stats". Got a gear with a decent amount of END + some other useful stat? 1-2 gold! I'm not talking about 7x gears only, I've seen some 4x-5x gears for this price. Unless they're only 'showing' the item for auctioning, I hope they never sell it.

And you get people who up the price when they can't sell something. I saw a hat I wanted (76 mage with some INT/DEX on it) vending at 450s, which is a bit too expensive imo. So I whispered to the vendor and say I'd buy it at 350s if he's willing to sell it for that price.

Guess what, I see it again the next day for 1 gold. Wth?! Weirdo...

I'm guilty of selling some armour for waaaay too much XD

I bought 64 archer boots with +24 STR and +30 END for 500s. My 54 ones had decent str and end as well, but no way they were worth 500s but they sold. Quickly as well XD

as long as people aére willing to buy it for that money, people will sell it too.

Well, of course, I don't have a problem with it if I can find godly gear and sell it for a godly price LMAO. But I'm always in the position of wanting godly gears and seeing godly prices associated with them!

There was a 70 mage shirt I wanted with almost full END/DEX. Godly yes, but apparently the C/O back then was 2.5g (the guy was vending it for 3g). WTH!! T_T. And I offered 700s for it, LOLOL.

No, I'm sure I bought out your blessed stock, come to think of it. I expect to pay a premium for those special stones. 75S for Blessed T3 Xir is about normal. It got worse this week - I saw T3Xir for 200S and T3Lix for 80S. My solution: I fed my alt mage 7 gold and sat in front of Nina all weekend, raising his stone comp from 1000 to 50,000 and am now making my own stones. Hate to kill the economy, but I had to do it. Now if my bank could get one of those bailouts.....:devil:

Somewhere along the lines... a few nuts on Teva had generated an insane amount of ingame money..

And the market has never been the same again....

The only way I found that the only decent way to earn money, is to gift people SC items. Right, now I have no SC, so i'm really poor.:cries:

In theory, gifting a SC item and taking in game money for it can get you banned - not sure how they enforce it, but they sure do spam it enough on the in-game announcements.

To earn money.. you should really make ur own scrolls and stones... and sell them...

But I guess it's coz there's so many people that doesn't make their own scrolls and stones.. that's how we us vendors get rich XD

I dont have $$ issues because about 20% of my keyboard time is used in farming and production.

I also have the luxury of being able to afk vend to buy mats and sell goods.

I used to give a lot to guildies and others but not so much anymore. It just creates dependence and becomes a drain on my resources.

Where are all the rich people when I try to sell stuff? Although I must admit things like earrings sell right away when think I've priced them pretty high. But I put T3 Elrue out for 2.5s all day and it doesn't even budge. Make more if I decomp the materials and make T2 Elrues to sell. All other stones I make sell out fast.

Also I am now a firm believer in not wasting time clicking on any vendor with the word "cheap". I have only ever seen 1 that had remotly reasonable prices in my opinion.

When pricing things I often look at those around selling similar and price mine a bit below. Or I look at what NPC's will buy it for and sell it for and put my price about halfway between, or a little higher if stats are nice.

Epith has gotten bad as well. I remember when I first made my fighter about 6 months ago Level 20 +9's were 150s-300s, they are 800s-1g now...
