Link doesn't work.

Senyx The Soulless one 05-05-2009 06:03 PM

Can't fix it right now, Here's a preview of what it said:

Outspark giving away $15,000!
Or something along those lines.

Yosei 05-05-2009 06:03 PM

There was an announcement about it, 15,000 in items and prizes.

Senyx The Soulless one 05-05-2009 06:09 PM

So they have the funds to do this, But they are complaining about financial problems?

Yeah they had funds...all our charges of sparkcash are funding this, and they want us to spend even more money to try to get something thats work 3k. They pretty much wil get the 15k back and then some...once again great marketing, lol and it will always work.

Yosei 05-05-2009 08:12 PM

Where have they complained about funds?

Hessah 05-05-2009 11:45 PM

I suspect the entertainment system is more or less donated... I doubt they'll pay full price for a prize...

and the rest of the $13k are cash shop items -i.e. Pixels, which does not require them to fork out cash to buy...

They didn't really need "funds" to create the prizes....

Hraesvelg 05-06-2009 12:01 AM

Promo deals like that always look bigger on paper. They get to write off the retail price of the items on their taxes and also get a bit of advertising to boot. Toshiba/Samsung/Netflix are all getting plugs in this deal for the cost of manufacture. Sort of like gameshows.

Also, I hope the winner of this knows he or she will be taxed on the retail price of the items in order to claim them.

Hessah 05-06-2009 12:06 AM

The way all the audience got taxed when they were given a car each on Oprah?! LOL!

Hraesvelg 05-06-2009 12:28 AM

Yep, exactly. The kicker is, sometimes the prize-givers will offer to pay the taxes. Then the winner has to pay taxes on THAT amount, LOL. Gotta love the IRS.

Hessah 05-06-2009 12:53 AM

Serious?!?! That's nuts!

I guess you can never win the full amount =/

We don't get taxed for winnings here...

Lone_Wolf 05-09-2009 06:41 AM

gotte love these kind of scamms.

Hraesvelg 05-09-2009 02:35 PM

No one is scamming anything, here. As dubious as some of us think some business decisions have been made, I seriously doubt they would try to do anything illegal.
