Laptop Help

Well i want go get a laptop, but i'm not really smart on the computer specs and stuff and don't know much about it. So i would like your opinion on the laptop i'm thinking of getting.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9
i want a small laptop that you can carry around the house, in the car, or to a friends house. And so that you can watch videos on your bed=] (lol that sounds wrongx]) Here are the specs for the one i want.

Inspiron Mini 9
Intel® Atom Processor® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM
Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition
LCD Panel
Glossy 8.9 inch LED display (1024X600)
Memory
1GB3 DDR2 at 533MHz
Hard Drive
8GB Solid State Drive
Video Card
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950
Wireless Networking Cards
Wireless 802.11g Mini Card
Battery Options
32WHr Battery (4 cell)

And thats for only $299

And another question, if i were to buy it, it says it comes with its own internet, but i was wondering how to connect it to my internet, cable internet, uses modem. Or if i should just use the internet it has?

Well it has wireless, so if you have a router, you don't need cable.

TBH, I wouldn't buy that. With dual cores that came out recently, you can get a dual core processor instead of that 1.6 GHz for $100 more. Plus... 8GB hard drive?!??!?! Um... Ipods have more storage than that.

Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic Edition SP1
Bright, glossy widescreen 15.6 WLED display (1366x768)
8X CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)
3GB1 Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz
250GB2 SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)

Well I have an Inspiron 1525 from Dell.. Vista Premium, Intel.. 1.9tb (Altogether) Nice and light weight runs smoothly and fast. Lovely keyboard and easy to use. Cost 500 euro. Extra 5euro if you want the case.
Easy touch play/pause/stop/forward/rewind/mute/sound-down/sound-up.
Pick your own design too
I know they use this laptop to connect to the interactive whiteboards.
4 usb ports. Built-in speakers.

Eww! I'm just loving it =]] I've had it for two years now, reinstalled it a week ago due to nearly full space after two years so yea.. Not bad.
I had around 20 games on it.. I dont even play them =/
Shut up Caroline!

I recommend this laptop =]]
