Ranger Vs Sharpshooter

Ranger - Crossbow
Sharpshooter - Bow

Which do you think has the better end of the deal ?

Sharpshooters seems like they get more skills, but since 3rd job change isn't finalised, I wonder if there's more Ranger skills to come...

Loveless 04-28-2009 06:50 AM

Depends on what you like.

I personally like those status effects you can inflict on enemies.

Destrus 04-28-2009 07:10 AM

i like the sound of blind. i want to make sure fighters can't touch me, ever

Ralath 04-28-2009 07:20 AM

Also, Power Shot and Aimed Shot are only for Sharpshooters after level 100.

From what I can see, they gave the weaker weapon to the class with the stronger skills... :sigh:

Loveless 04-28-2009 07:29 AM

But... if the stronger skills went to the one with a stronger weapon... then everyone would go in that direction.

Destrus 04-28-2009 07:36 AM

oh i have two questions.
does slow shot never miss?
it says absolute arrow builds momentum for a devastating attack. is it an attack itself (as in it doesn't just build up power but then fires a shot) or does it only build up energy to make your next shot hit harder. like could i use it then power shot to do some amazing damage? (and finally finish off those darn clerics:hulksmash:)

Loveless 04-28-2009 07:38 AM

It seems to me like it's a long cast time with "devastating" damage.

Zwivix 04-28-2009 02:54 PM

Where is this info from? Ive been looking for it. Anyway I doubt they'll give rangers only two skills. Since Im gonna be an aoe machine all I really need is entrap, but having some pvp skills wouldnt hurt.

I really hope those arent final cause us rangers want more new skills D: maybe rangers get all the buffs in this version.

Jikanu 04-28-2009 11:52 PM

Distant shot is kinda disappointing... 13.5m is the same as aimed shot and all our dots ._.

Phantom Badger 04-29-2009 06:43 AM

It's the skills in Aberstol ruins, Posted by Hessah in the Announcement about Level 105 being put in.

Don't forget on the way to lvl 100 Archers get LOADS of AOEs,
AOE Bleed, Disease and another one I think. We'll be amazing AOE machines!
I wonder what Blind looks like on the recieving end, like if their screen goes white or something... or If it's similar to stun...

Jikanu 04-30-2009 02:17 PM

maybe it's just an accuracy debuff? O_o

ZeroZone 04-30-2009 03:00 PM

IF you have ever been to DT they use the new skills. there...

When your screen flashes while for a few second a ARche rjust hit you with blind shot..

Those yellow slow arrows that be on the ground... Those are Slow shot.

Those flame shella thing that do uber Damage... They use Flame walker....

Rangers get hide,entanges,boobytrap,utmost shot

SS get blind,slow,distant,disarm,detect,utmost shot

+ the extra power/aims

they both get Utmost as you can see above and the aoe bleed also the dipper/release.

Maybe there is more skill that will be released butfor now if this is the final output i will be going sharp shooter.... but if there is some magical dex buff for Ranger i will go ranger :p

Also although SS get the power hting skill the Ending xbow had double the power of the Bow.

Jikanu 04-30-2009 10:10 PM

so... what does slowshot do?

Zwivix 05-01-2009 01:35 AM

I was wondering something, if sharp shooters get power shot and aim shot after 100, do they lose the aoe's (Mist,Multi,Piercing) after 100? That would seem the fairest thing to do...we lose something they should do the same.

Anyway i dont know any archer thats going sharpshooter...Sharpshooters will only be good for PvP not much else.

Jikanu 05-01-2009 02:55 AM

what do the rangers lose? they just dont gain the advantages of sharpshooters, just as sharpshooters dont get hide and the other ranger skills... taking away our aoe's is like saying take away the holy knight's heals...

Zwivix 05-01-2009 04:38 AM

We dont get aim and power shot anymore, as stated above. Sharpshooters need to lose a skill or two since they get many more than rangers.

Jikanu 05-01-2009 02:06 PM

Hm... ok then, but rangers get the advantage of massive attack power too. so it IS kinda fair since they get the main attacks. Taking away Natures Mist and Peircing Shot and the Bleeding AOE would be far too unfair.

Yeah thats all we can really do...these are just seculations...well find out for certain soon enough.

Anarah 05-02-2009 04:05 AM

Well I know i'm going sharpshooter. Even though i'm gonna miss the power, i paid too much for this dang helgait and it's gonna be used to the fullest. Also I like the skills for sharpshooter and I hope to reach the lvl soon.

The question I have is they have armor lvl 99 in Albertsol Ruins for the new class change. WHY?:nahnah::cutielove:
