Super size me.

Guy lives on McDonalds food for 1 month, three times a day.

Manzcar 04-16-2009 01:47 PM

It almost killed him.

I've seen the documentary. His body and emotional state goes through a drastic change.

Aidan 04-16-2009 03:08 PM

Yup. It shows the true toxicity of Fast food. Now he had more fast food in a month than many americans eat in 1-2 years (3 meals a day, 30 days, total of 90 meals) but it still adds up whther it's one meal every week or 3 meals a day.

Some critics argue that he could have gone for diet coke, and lower calorie and lower fat alternatives. He counter-argues that the average american doesn't go for the diet alternatives so why should he?

Belaslav 04-16-2009 03:19 PM

Just finished watching it. Wow. Just wow.

That I did not see coming. Good thing last time I ate at McD's when I was back in Russia 6 years ago. XD

Yosei 04-16-2009 03:31 PM

I saw that a long time ago.

Ralath 04-16-2009 04:48 PM

He came to my school a couple weeks ago.

A_Forever 04-16-2009 05:11 PM

We watched it in health class a few years ago.

Hessah 04-16-2009 11:57 PM

I've watched that a while ago too...

I think they exaggerated the results...

He was healthy eating + exercising..

Then suddenly they stopped his exercising AND feed him oil...

Then they blame it all just on Maccas... if you want an experiment to be successful, you're meant to keep all other controls constant (the same)... when you change TWO things at once... you cant just blame all your results on one factor...

Coz there's lotsa people that do eat maccas also just as much as him and they're still wobbling around... coz their body are used to the fat LOL!!

It was not an EXPERIMENT it was him stepping into the average American's shoes. The average American has little or no exercising, eats horribly, and is otherwise unhealthy. His walking was the typical New Yorker's walking for a day.

Also, those people cramming Maccas down their mouths might exercise a lot. They also probably have very fast metabolisms. They're also probably younger than that guy. As you get older you slow down, plus he goes from a healthy diet to a horrible one, the impact was much worse but still shows how Maccas affects people.

Hessah 04-17-2009 12:28 AM

But an "average" American would've been feed maccas gradually since they were young... and they most probably would've grew more and more into it..

Most are probably not as fit as him to start off with.. and it's the shocking change to his body that almost killed him.. you don't see all the "typical" New Yockers dying within a month...

Amber_Bamber 04-17-2009 01:15 AM

Watch it a couple years ago in Health class,
Most of my classmates were very disgusted by it XD

But Maccas advertised and announced that it was entirely healthy to eat their food as normally as you would any other. Thus the test.

Hessah 04-17-2009 03:22 AM

That depends on how you interpret "as normally as you would any other".

And no one should really take any advertising jargon literally.

Businesses get away from a lot of their "I GUARANTEE" type of jargon...

I just think that they exaggerated... I wouldnt say that it's entirely false.

Well I guess he took it to the extreme XD

Only one think I know it good in fast food is the fat in low amounts. Body needs fat for tons of things from insulation to cell membranes. I usually only eat fast food 1-3 times every 2 weeks...
