Don't judge a book by its cover ay~

Ralath 04-13-2009 08:31 AM

So apparently, she's mentally disabled too. She was starved of oxygen at birth so she has learning disabilities.

Her story is just super... amazing. o-o

She said: "Appearance is everything in this industry and I'm happy with the way I look. But don't compare me to Paul Potts... I'm much better-looking than that. And I've got my eye on Piers. He's gorgeous."

That's a great quote, heh.

Awesome.

Aidan 04-17-2009 04:45 AM

It's always the ones that LOOK ugly that sing the best.

Jikanu 04-17-2009 06:53 AM

yeah, but sadly today's culture focuses on physical appearance far too much.

She's amazing, and it's awesome that she has a chance to make it. any recording industry would've just laughed her off (which i think is bull, btw), so it's nice that she got her chance somewhere where they couldnt just judge her.

Only a coin flip can decide!

Hraesvelg 04-17-2009 05:55 PM

More like a timestamp.

But I like the suspense where the middleman flips it really high in the air, both people rush to call their sides, and the coin just slowly comes back into the hand of the tosser.

Slowly, the tosser uncovers the coin, only to reveal the true victor...and fairly deal defeat to the unfortunate.

Sorry, I prefer truth over drama.

Spirit 04-17-2009 06:35 PM

At this point, with as much recognition that she has gotten. Even if she does not win that show, then she will become something.

Everyone loves her and she has already been "sold" to the audience. Her story alone will sell albums.

Not to mention, it is amazing what stylists can do. My hubby was telling me about catching the Tyra Banks show on and it was an episode where she revealed what she looked like without make-up and a hair stylist. Hubby says that Tyra is dog-ugly.

So, even if we are a generation that bases a lot on looks, it is amazing what money can make you look like.

There is truth in a coinflip! It's simply....a different truth.

Though to be fair I guess a timestamp works. :urweird:
