Worst turned Best KQ
Not sure if this is the right place for this. Please move it if it needs to be.
The other night I entered what would be my last Mara KQ for my main character Patches, and I was hoping it would be a good one. It started out to be the worst ever. I lagged a little at the start and did not get in a party, because by the time my computer was responding everybody but me and an archer ( i was lvl 25 fighter at the time) had rushed ahead. I figured I would help her and we could catch up. WRONG. they left every mob for us. Then a guy that I was in an earlier quest with wispered me and asked where I was. I told him we got left behind. I told the archer to run and use pots and stones and I would pull aggro off her as quick as I could. We made it to where the 2 fakes are to find 5 people. I had 3 stones left at this point. We took on Marlone first, and by the time we were done we had 5 people left. 3 fighters, 1 archer, and 1 cleric. To make this very long story short, we did win the Quest with just the 5 of us to kill all the boss mobs, which by the way, take forever to kill with no big damage dealers in the group. I was impressed with the group of people we had at the end. That is how it went from the worst KQ I had ever been in (almost ready to give up when I saw only 5 of us at the fakes) to the best one I had ever been in. I just wanted to share that with everyone in here. |
Must've been a close call. -gives a medal-

rushing FTW....

I don't remember the exact time, but we didn't have much left. *puts medal on*:D |
haha well done! it sounds like there must hv been some idiots messing about while u got lagged out... kekekeke
|
Nice nice! I remember finishing a Slime KQ with only 6 people (archer as tank), and I was very proud. Don't you just love the ego-boost-feeling when you've conquered a KQ with very few people? xD
|
Something similar to that happened to a KQ group I was in. Everyone rushed and died. I was left behind with another Fighter and two Clerics. Sadly, we did not make it as we ran out of time. But we did manage to get up to the Pirate Ship. Bit of a shame really. If only we had more time we would've beaten it. Oh and just to let you know, I was using my (old) Fighter at the time. I don't remember what level he was though.

Yea something similiar happened to me. Our whole group consisted of 3 archers 2 mages 4 clerics (only 1 could revive) and 6 fighters. By the time we reached the 2 fakes, 1 cleric and 1 archer had died. When we were at the boat, some mage thought he was very clever and lure 3 Marlones and 2 Maras to us. What's worse was that all were fakes as the real ones are usually at the back of the second boat. So we had the tanker bring them to the back of the first boat then die and revive and run out. Then the mage was scolding us saying that we gotta kill all then he went to lure them back killing the remaining archer, mage, another cleric and 2 fighters. In the end, we managed to kill marlone and got Mara below half health but we ran out of time. Haix.

I had a couple of amazing KQs. My most recent one was a Mara KQ. We had some issues with tanks. xD; On top of nobody could seem to lure the real Mara or Marlone at the end so we had two Maras running around the back of the boat and a fake Marlone on the entrance stairs. (The stairs coming into the first boat, not the ones connecting them. ... Don't ask how he got there. >_> It's painful.)
We were all stressed out and the tanks kept on dieing and so finally a tank started taking him on and I just started spamming heal like crazy. xD It worked he was actually a very good tank once we got the ball rolling. The only problem was, we had like 3 minutes to kill Mara. >_>; We were whacking away, or what was left of us since a lot of people had died, given up or left. We had like, 20 seconds left and I realized the tank was doing fine with the other clerics healing, and we had only a tiny amount of HP left. xD So I joined in the melee at the back with as many bashes as I could handle and all the other clerics did the same. THREE SECONDS LEFT we brought her down. 8D It was amazing. There was definitely a celebration after we were done! xD The thing with the KQ-crisis-turned-triumph is that you always seem to make friends while you're at it. I guess near death experiences draw everyone together. C: |
Congrats to you guys!
I remember doing the Gold Hill KQ once, I opened the last gate when there was one second left. In the end we were able to succeed. |

What, a medal and a cookie in the same thread. wow. *eats cookie* very good. thank you. It was a lot of fun, and I did make some new friends. It is a great ego-boost knowing we did it with only 5 people and a day later I was in LS1 and a girl in there knew about us having won with 5 people and recognized me. |
For me is was a good try for the whole party. Considering someone who didn't know what the KQ was about went to lure all the clones.
|
reminds of back when i was doing mara kqs...i remember having no clerics in one of the kqs i joined but we managed to win xD barely...

Lolz practically a suicide mission xD although it's a rare occurence

Yay!!! something similiar happened to me too...
The worst, best, and MOST amazing KQ i've ever been in.
This was it, "You have succefully participated in Gold Hill Kingdom Quest [A]" showed up on the bottom right of my screen and i began biting my thumb thinking "DAYAM I GOT IN". Horror/Terror/Dread slaped me on the face when i've entered the platue of ice and found that there was ONE clerics, and only 2 TANKS with every other charecter under level 25. Killing the mobs so the lower levels can mine was a hard task indead but hey YAY! i'm level 32 ^.^. By the time we attack the "Gold miner Marlone" (LMAO Marlone's a GOLD DIGGUH) our only cleric had dead and passed away from our world.... with no clerics left people began to suicide and just left >.< Sigh... people give up to easily We can to around 9 players left and two tanks. so with the last 2 minutes left before we attacked the Gold Digger Boss (i think) we thought of a smooth stategy. I would be the main tank -.- and tenks (the other tank) would also tank, we would mock/tuant back and forth to keep it aggro on us not have time to only hit us once before it goes back to aggroing the other, (thus time to use pot) This turned out to be a one man show with 7 players after every1 else died. YAY!!! i played *HERO* I continuously tankered the boss at level 32 with no clerics and we *WON* horrays!!! |
My favorite(so far) was my 2nd KQ ever. Everyone that managed to get in were ALL clerics! All of us lvl15 or under, it took forever and a day to reach King Slime. Good thing there was one brave cleric who had scroll buffs who tanked. A couple of whacks later however, left half of us dead :P And with only 2mins left, we were beginning to lose hope. Then the tank shouted, 'SCREW THE MOB! EVERYONE BASH HIM NOW!', and so we did. heal, bash, heal, bash heal, bash, heal, BASH!
It's like watching a hotblooded mecha anime! Our brothers are dead, they're not here anymore. But on our backs, and in our hearts, they live on as part of us! We will finish this damn KQ and Bash King Slime to death. And even if this place becomes our grave, as long as we break through, it's our victory! http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/8...0130434os1.jpg For every cleric that has fallen, our bashes become stronger! The 7 remaining clerics managed killed King Slime with only a fraction of our HP and SP left. Awesome. |

What anime is that ? |

My best was on the slime KQ where there were only 2 tanks and 2 clerics( i was one of them) everyone else was either mage or archer. After we had gotten 2 the last ring before the boss, the first tank went afk and the mages and archers went the other way and got themselves killed. After that we went on to the boss, the tank that fought him had every scroll i had and the party buff and two clerics healing him we some how won.

That GH round with 7 people left sounds familiar. I had a similiar experience back in my GH days. Also did Mara with only Clerics and a couple of mages one time. A brave lvl 25 Cleric tanked. Poor guy couldn't keep aggro from the mages for anything.

Recently had a really bad KQ turning to an awesome on in Robo. Forgot who I did it with - it was either with my sister or Dyna.
But bad KQs turning into really good ones = win. Haven't had those for a while. Usually it's either insta-fail or insta-win in Robo. |
i think it was with me...
we didnt get to kill all the mobs... no rest the entire game but somehow with many runners.. we managed to pull through... keke it got really exciting... i think its that one u're talking about? did we end up hving only a few players?? or just that we didnt hv a tank and everyone's low lvl? cant remember i jsut remember coming out going.. WAOH! |
I think it was the one with you, Hessah, Loki, Spirit and I.

The other one was also mara KQ, but with ONLY 1 CLERIC.(me. XD) budden, i didn't get the revive skill and yarhs. ALMOST EVERYONE DIED. O.O In the end, we had , uhm, 3 fighters? and 1 mage and archer whacking away at the mara and marlone while i spammed my heal button. o.o Managed to complete quest in the end though. XD I totally agree w/ the quote. Made lots of friends in the KQ crisis. ;D |
Nice work. O_o Sometimes it pays off to stay in the KQ, even when the odds don't seem to favour you.
|
Mmm, my best/worst KQ wasn't even mine. Boyfriend had to go to class so I jumped on his warrior for him. We took down mara fine, but when we pulled Marlone, everything came with him...fakes/reals... We had a near-total wipe so everyone used a heart and we ended up tanking the real Marlone on the stairs while watching for the fakes getting too close on patrol.
It was a lot of fun actually. When things get a little hairy, you actually tend to enjoy yourself more with the outcome. |

well that makes sense... G____G = awesome XD ^ agree with Awarain.... nothing special if wat you want is too easy to get |
I actually just got an urge to play and the timing was right so I hopped on to do a quick maras KQ on my fighter. It started and there was one cleric in the whole group, so then everyone starts running ahead. I thought it was a normal rush so I followed, then they just aggroed everything to suicide and join a new KQ because they thought it was doomed.
I died twice in the beginning then we regrouped and 7 of us finished it off. I think it was 1 mage, 1 archer, 1 under 20 (no rez) cleric and the rest of us fighters one of which had no weapon at all >.< Still, it actually went pretty smooth. I think sometimes it's easier with fewer people because so often it gets chaotic with a big group of people aggroing random stuff. I think pretty much everyone's reward box was by the way, but I got a blessed lix. |

People like that leaving is the cause of fail (in most cases, obviously not yours this time! xD) and that annoys the heck out of me. Why do people give up so easily? D: But anyway, congrats on getting through! |
Its because people are just in it for the xp which i get but then some people just yell and scream for healing and the rest so i think you should take it slow, by the way thats pretty good going ^^
|
Most funny things happen at the Mara Kingdom Quest.
I really like looking at people being slaughtered when someone lure Mara/Marlone and lures them into the group. It's really funny to watch till you get killed yourself. I don't mind failing. Really, if people played decently it's far enough to succeed. But one person could ruin it for the whole group, not even talking about leechers here. If you're in a party at Mara and you don't have a single cleric or one that could revive, then it's just bad luck. But if people start doing stuff on their own ego and think they know better, then I'll enjoy watching everyone getting killed. |
Ahhh Mara KQ good days...
I loved reenacting 300 on that KQ.... |
