Need Some Volunteers

Hi FiestaFan,

Outspark needs some volunteers to help test a new project. It's not a game, it's just a new feature part of Outspark's service that relates to Fiesta.

*I should note that volunteers do not need to be currently active players and do not need Fiesta installed.

If you would like to help us, please send me a PM (on FiestaFan) with the following information if you are interested.

SparkID
ISP (Type of internet connection)
Location (City/State)
Operating System (Vista, XP, etc)
How long have you played Outspark Fiesta?

I'm looking for players in the 3 month or so range and players in the 6 months or more range.

Not everyone will be selected. Selections are chosen based on needed criteria. This is not restricted to only North American players. We will be looking for about 20 or so volunteers. There will be some sort of compensation for helping.

Thanks for looking!
-SKiNG

Amber_Bamber 04-08-2009 09:45 PM

xD We PM you here right? Assuming that we cannot on the officials.

Triumph 04-08-2009 09:48 PM

I would assume so, yes.

I'll assist if needed, but I don't think I fit the criteria well at all.

Information sent via FF.

Ivramire 04-08-2009 09:49 PM

I didn't spot a thread like this on officials, so I'm assuming here.

Very interesting ._.

Amber_Bamber 04-08-2009 09:51 PM

Ohthanks xD,

I might try out for it, Dunno xD...

SKiNG 04-08-2009 09:53 PM

Yes, PM me here. Sorry I wasn't clear.

I didn't post on the officials because I need a smaller control group.

Spirit 04-08-2009 09:53 PM

With only needing 20 volunteers, my assumption (and you know what they say about those) is that if they posted something like this on the officials, then they would get hammered with thousands of PMs not only with required information, but stuff like "pick me!!!! pick me!!! I'm the best!!!!" crap.

Dunno.

I do think that it is very considerate to think about this fansite though and let us know about it.

EDIT: Nvm - he responded as I was posting, lol. :Cheeky:

Amber_Bamber 04-08-2009 09:56 PM

XD I fail at this

By Operating System, Is it like...Dell...Mac..etc? -omfg im not a computer nerd LOL-

SKiNG 04-08-2009 09:59 PM

Operating System = Windows XP, Vista, Millenium, 2000, etc...

Oh, if you all know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit o/s, that would help also.

MikeyG 04-08-2009 09:59 PM

It would benice skiiing if you could answer my pm as to why my account was banned, since you already messaged me to tell you about it.

Spirit 04-08-2009 09:59 PM

OS, I am assuming (again, you know what they say about that), would be like Windows 2007, windows Vista, etc.

Edit again: Damn you SKiNG, you are faster than me.

Amber_Bamber 04-08-2009 10:00 PM

Oh thanks!

Whats the difference between 32-Bit and 64-Bit?

I'll send you a pm in a sec with the form n___n

I didn't reply because I'm pretty sure there was no need. You know why you were banned. If you have questions, you can PM me and I'll be glad to answer.

Now back to the topic.

You most likely have 32-bit. Usually those with 64-bit know they have 64-bit because they chose to have 64-bit. :)

Spirit 04-08-2009 10:06 PM

Amber - what type of system do you use? If it is Windows Vista, you can right-click on your desktop, then click on Display Settings and that will show you if you are running at 32 bit or 64 bit.

Most are 32 Bit by default, so unless you have changed things in your computer, then I would think it is a safe bet that you are 32 bit.

EDIT: I am going to quit answering questions, since SKiNG seems to react faster.

SKiNG - you interested in a modding position??? You could prolly ban bots quicker than they create accounts. LOL.

Triumph 04-08-2009 10:07 PM

A 64-bit system operates more efficiently than a 32-bit system; it is able to process RAM operations much more quickly.

The maximum RAM a 32-bit system may have is 4GB, while the maximum RAM a 64-bit system may have is 8GB.

Ivramire 04-08-2009 10:07 PM

(On a Vista Home-Premium)

I saw my OS-type by right-clicking on ''Computer'' from the Start button, then selecting properties. Windows edition told me what kind of Vista I had and System type told me it was 32-bit.

Edit: fell over each other typing that one?

Amber_Bamber 04-08-2009 10:07 PM

Lol I know how to get there XD and yeah its a 32-Bit

@____@.......Do I need to know everything about my computer to participate in this?!

You don't! That's the best part!

The less computer-savy you are, the better!!! It only helps us improve our products and help others like yourself get in faster.

*EDIT: I feel like Billy Mays selling you Orange Glo.

Some stuff to add:

A bit is a short form of "binary digit". It can either equal 1 or 0. It is the ultimate "core" of how computer processes data.

32-bit processor: 2^32 = 4,294,967,296
This means that you computer can represent numbers from 0 to 4,294,967,295 in binary.

64-bit processor: 2^64 = 18,446,744,073,709,551,616
That can represent A LOT more numbers in binary, therefore making the data processing much faster. That's pretty much the main difference.

kirbysprite 04-08-2009 10:48 PM

And my computer's highest is the 32-bit, I guess I'm gonna be kinda slow in games.

Triumph 04-08-2009 10:58 PM

32-bit doesn't mean your computer will not operate quickly.

My 32-bit gaming system outclasses my friend's 64-bit system.

Belaslav 04-08-2009 11:20 PM

P.S. - 64-bit processors are relatively new, therefore there are a lot of compatibility issues with older programs, such as unability to take advantage of this extra power. Running old games like FarCry and Heroes of Might and Magic can be quite a pain in the ass.

Will we need to install anything?

At minimum, you would just patch Fiesta if needed. At maximum, you would be installing another Outspark game other than Fiesta.

*How you connect to the internet and speed I guess. I'm guessing yours is a fixed-line connection since you said DSL xD

*Go with the computer with better specifications. I.e. the faster one?

*We're just seeing who's willing to volunteer some time and info to test an OS feature, further details come to those selected.

Sparkeh 04-09-2009 05:53 AM

OH..thanks! :3

and my laptop is faster ofc xD!...and my internet is attached to the phone i guess...cuz when som1 talk on phone..the internet gives Errors and i get dc by that >.<

umm...k ill send my info @.@;

Ivramire 04-09-2009 06:38 AM

Using dial-up?

Don't remember my normal line connection dcing when someone uses the phone. Try getting a splitter to divide phone and network usage, maybe a wireless router.

Hope it's not something too bandwidth intensive.

Sparkeh 04-09-2009 06:58 AM

Hmm..i have something got 3 spaces 1 for internet and 1 for phone and 1 idk what...

And im not using dial-up...

umm..FIESTA BACK UP! <3

LOL, yes the ShamWow guy, that..... well, I'm pretty sure you heard the story.

Anyways, to everyone else, I do not think it is necessary to post in here that you have sent a PM. Simply send it and save this thread for questions and such.

SKiNG 04-14-2009 04:54 AM

Hey all,

Thanks for the interest in helping. I'll send a private message to the ones who are accepted in the next couple days along with the next step in instructions.

We only require about 20 volunteers so it's possible you may not be selected. Please accept my apologies in advance if you are not one of the selected participants.

Amber_Bamber 04-14-2009 05:01 AM

lol, I never sent my thing in, I still have it saved in Notepad.
