Your input is required.

Whether you're grinding, vending, chatting, idle or stalking gold seller bots on the forum... Why not spare a little bit of time stripping your characters and filling in a form?

Whenever you think you have leveled-up a character (not a necessary condition!), take a few moments to admire the naked stats of them, and make a contribution to the wiki simultaneously (I am not condoning the existence of simultaneity).

Brief instructions are provided. Attention is brought to a Pop-out option to make it fit along the side of your client should you run it in windowed mode. Also, you may be glad to know, that the long loading time after a submission is deliberate - the form has not died on you.

It is necessary to collect a bulk of data, because the more there is, the more likely it is correct (some number processing will be carried out to discriminate errors, but this requires multiple sources per entry - so! There can never be too much!). Once enough information has been collected, they will be applied to these pithy pages:
Click Click Click Click
(Very shabby looking right now - and difficult to manage)

Suggestions will be processed and effected!

Hessah 03-31-2009 03:29 AM

Interesting~

I'll try help fill things out when I level...

btw.. Just a little feedback... would it be worth it to give us an option to tick/untick a "married?" box?

(I'm sure there'll be lotsa implications to that so... that's up totally up to u to decide)

Coz, basically anyone with a character that's married would not be able to fill it out accurately...

Blaaaaaaaah 03-31-2009 05:10 AM

Question.

What do you mean by "you will EXCLUDE THE FREE (+STAT) POINTS"? Does that mean.. say, if my base END is 20 and I added 5 points to it, I enter "20" and not "25"?

Triumph 03-31-2009 12:24 PM

Ya.

A checkbox will be provided for "marriage lovey dovey charm bonus activated".

Perhaps the instructions still appear muddled. Nevermind, I will add 5 extra boxes to fill in the +stats so that one can simply register base stats as is displayed.

Ya as an answer to her question.

Go do chemistry. I go to school now. You should be studying too noob.

Icy 03-31-2009 02:02 PM

I have added inputs following the feedback of Hessah and Blaaaaaaaah.

I don't mean to patronize you, but you're old enough to know that nothing good comes out of being condescending to someone who has attained higher academic achievements than yourself.

Nice!

One thing I have not found on the wiki, (and it may be there) is the exp points required to the next level. Could you, should you, would you add that to your work?

It's on the front page. > Link <

Sparkeh 03-31-2009 04:05 PM

I added my data. =D

Senyx The Soulless one 03-31-2009 04:21 PM

I'm half tempted to start raising some noobs from 1 to 20 and providing all the input from here to there, Stat bonuses included, What will all this data go toward?

For the lower levels it is easier to ride a plvl train.

I amended the first post to reflect your query.

Don't forget to include your unique number, and make it long. It helps when I am distinguishing between spurious data and trustworthy ones.

Senyx The Soulless one 03-31-2009 05:14 PM

-Mafia voice- What kind of...Payment, Can we expect for these services my boys are out there providing to you?

The family is low on free time, And we find it very hard to keep such a...Meticulous amount of data like this lying around, with nothing in our pockets, Hmm?

lol, Just kidding, I'm here to help the wiki, Mostly, I'll let my contribs. Do the talking.

But what kind of data would you need at level 20, The before the rank up, OR after the points are applied?

And what about the rumours that if a fighter has his Clerver fighter title on, His base attack goes up by 10?

Just what i heard, But if it's true, Will that change anything?

I thought you just get 10 free-stats after completion of the job change quest - in which case, if you applied the points, your base stats change (there are + [ ] boxes for free stats to reflect this), and if you didn't, the base stats remain the same. Since we know the effects of free stats on the displayed stats, it doesn't matter whether you use the points or not.

The question is, does completing the job change quest raise the base stats independent of the 10 free stat points?

Also... if the 10 attack bonus is hidden, it should be ignored.

I should think it Would.

You're changing to an entirely different class, Not to mention all that new armor.

But i have been wrong, A few times.

Somehow, I'm always condescending.

Either way, you're half right. You're at a decent university, while I'm stuck in high school boredom.

And by the time you go to a decent university, I would've almost graduated. You shall be waiting for a long time for me to slack and for you to catch up in academia. P.S. playing RTS does not help with transferable management skills. Lol.

Lulz. If it did, the guys on the floor above me would be amazing job candidates.

And I thought Triumph was a senior this year and Icy is my year or a year older than me.... @_@;;;

It can certainly give you a practical overview of war and tactical thinking, much like The Art of War. This is very helpful in the business world. In fact, UC Berkeley has a course on StarCraft. I'm fairly sure it's taught under the math section, but the lessons can be applied to many aspects of management.

The videos of the lectures are on YouTube.

A bit more on-topic...I could give you a single data point for each of my characters, as I don't play any more. Would that be useful, or are you more interested in tracking the progression for various characters?

Ivramire 04-01-2009 05:10 AM

Mmmm, spam.

Is there a thread for this on the officials?

Ralath 04-01-2009 05:20 AM

!!!! UC Berkeley has a class on YouTube about StarCraft? *o*

I watched the first class of an Anatomy class on YouTube. That one was interesting. Good professor. And then it just got... too... much. @_@;;;

EDIT:

The course workload for the Starcraft class at UCB:
Quote:

Each week, students must submit 2 replays of games they played and are willing to analyze in depth. Students are expected to explain the flow of the game, identify the time of several positive and negative moves, and show an understanding of how to overcome mistakes in these replays. Some replays will be reviewed by the class together.
Tentative Course Outline:

Week 14: Tournament
lolololollo

Hessah 04-01-2009 11:39 AM

OK i've submitted one for my fighter.. all my other characters have buffs atm and i need to wait till they run out to add more...

Some annoying feedback XD It's neither here nor there.. but you MIGHT want to make it perfect...

1. STR / DEX / END / INT / SPR didnt quite follow the same order as in game list... i almost put my DEX in the END field...

2. The Dmg and M Dmg. When you strip the weapon off your character, there's only 1 figure for it, there isnt a xxx ~ yyy. It's just xxx.

That is all!

Actually. I'm sorry, but that's just Mathematics people being very... well you know what they're like, inventing situations to play with. Mathematicians can create a problem out of basically anything. They have chosen to dissect the game mechanism and theorize it. In reality however, if one gloats about their professional macro and micro skills, and was then asked about how long they can exercise it for in a management job interview - "3 flat hours in an arduous game!". Good luck with employment.

Anatomy? -searches-

An analogy to the double-slit diffraction experiment - and every set of data you enter is a single photon. (Every photon counts)

I thought it was S/E/D/I/S, I will make some changes!
And the damage thing - haha! I guess one can never be too careful. But it is a good data validation trap :nahnah:

Thanks for pointing that out.

Edit: I got myself to dig amongst my 2 GB of screenshots to find one that contains the stats window. Now I have it arranged in the same order.

Well, I don't think the course is there to encourage people to game and there's really no sensible reason for graduates from that course to gloat about StarCraft strategy planning in their job interviews (of course, there are always exceptions to the sensible rule). The purpose of all teaching by example, like this one, is to give a hands-on experience with a model which can then be further studied and applied to other related forms. It all comes down to principles, which are essentially the take-home message for anyone undertaking such a course. If they bring the idea of "play this game to practise what I just learnt" home and do nothing else, they got the wrong idea.

Not all mathematicians invent situations to play with. The applied mathematicians rely on practical problems and the time when they 'invent' something is when the solution to an immediate scenario presents a scope for further investigation. The pure mathematicians are the ones who like to make problems out of thin air.

The faculty of mathematics in my university is split into two, the department of pure mathematics and mathematical statistics, and the department of theoretical physics and applied mathematics.

You get the idea, but hopefully Triumph does as well.

lamchopz, go fill in my form since you have time to post :cutielove:

Most of the data tables in the wiki come from either hyperswoss (equipments, licenses), Gandalfa82 (items, NPCs, monsters), me (a foot in almost every table), and Triumph (item list dump, in which I had a hand in tabulating, lol). Some (monster locations, skills, EXP table) are the result of many input users, but some (character stats) simply don't get many page view. It is a pasttime of mine to rectify this.

The point is, since
  1. (sadly) my input to the organisational aspect of the wiki has put even Triumph's input into the shadow, and that
  2. I plan to overshadow his minuscule contribution list by an absolutely incredible margin,
I am collecting data in an organized and efficient manner for those pages listed in my first post: because, so far, over a year has passed since I gave those pages individuality, they are still too shabby to strictly qualify as standalone pages under the notability clause.

VVV--- Ralath post stalker
