That. Game. Looks. So. Amazing.

Bioshock 1 was a mix between thrilling story and a spooky video game. I can't imagine how the story is going to change once the Big Sister gets in on the action. O:

There is one thing that annoys me a little bit... Bioshock 2 is supposed to take place 10 years after the first one, and in that game you had numerous battles with Big Daddies. But, in Bioshock 2, you take the role of the "First Big Daddy".

So, like, you play as one of the Big Daddies that you DIDN'T KILL in the first one. Like, one you never saw before. It said he was a rogue, or something, so that could explain it.

Yeah it was sealed away or some shit... you don't have a Little sister either, but after killing other Big Daddies you can adopt their sister. so she'll gather Adam for you in return for protection.

lol... that makes the big daddies sound like mobsters, almost o.o

but yeah, apparently you go rogue and start fighting against one of the little sisters from the first game who grew up, put herself in big daddy armor, and now is going by the name of "big sister"... i think that's her backstory at least... either that or she was just an alternate form of the big daddies... there's a site for it http://www.somethinginthesea.com/ <---there

The Big sister grew up and mechanicalised (is that a word ?) herself like the big daddies, so there's no proof she'll be in a scuba armour :3

The main plot is this.

After the incidents of the first game, Rapture hit the fan. With the Little Sisters gone, there was no circulation of the ADAM. As a result, friends turned on friends, parents against children, all in an effort to get any ADAM they could.

10 years later, one of the original Little Sisters that escaped at the end of the first game now returns to Rapture in an attempt to settle the mass confusion. The Big Sister begins kidnapping young girls along the shores of the Atlantic to transform them into Little Sisters in an attempt to balance the economy of Rapture. The Big Sister is endowned with incredible agility, allowing her to jump across entire rooms in a single bound. A horrifiyingly large harvesting needle is attached to her left arm for the purpose of a sword. She also possesses Telekenesis, creating barriers out of peices of furniture around the room; of which she proceeds to hurl at your head.

You play as the first Big Daddy, a prototype for the ones to follow. Because you're a prototype, you have access to an experimental weapon that other Big Daddys do: Plasmids. You're wrench is replaced with the iconic drill, and an arsenal of weapons (such as the rivet gun seen in the last game) as well as you're deadly array of plasmids.

In Bioshock 2, you don't play as some renegade human who only wants to wack things with his shiny wrench. You're a Big Daddy, and you do what Big Daddys do; protect your Little Sister as she harvests ADAM. If you feel the need have more ADAM, and decide to attack another Big Daddy... be warned. Unlike Andrew Ryan, the Big Sister does not spectate the operation of her city. She is actively involved in it, walking around and supervising the actions of the city. She will notice when things are being disrupted, and she will find out who it is that's causing the disruption.

but what if you dont? then the game has no plotline? O_o

Remember the thought process of a Big Daddy.

"Me want ADAM."

-kills a Big Daddy-

-Big Sister beats you within an inch of your life-

"Ow. Big Sister die now."

It's most likely more elaborate than that, I'm just assuming. xD

yeah, but you as a player get to control whether or not you kill the big daddy, right?

unless there's a specific incident where you have no control...

I'm guessing a mission is going to come along the lines of "You don't have enough ADAM for this part, you need to kill a Big Daddy to get more".

So whether you harvest the Little Sister or adopt her, Big Sister is still going to take notice.

I doubt that. All I'm saying is don't take ^ his word for granted, it is likely not gunna be like that xD but who knows :3

that'd make sense... but it says on wikipedia:

"This single attacker, who is the Big Sister, one of the Little Sisters from the first entry in the series,[4] has mechanised herself in a similar fashion to the Big Daddies — and has become the ruler of the underwater city of Rapture, which under her control has reached an equilibrium in which she "actively maintains the city's infrastructure, and viciously hunts anyone down who disrupts the balance of power"

Wouldnt the equilibrium mentioned suggest that she keeps adam levels balanced too?

EDIT: on wikipedia, it also says that you're a rogue big daddy... perhaps your character staged a rebellion? o.o

DOUBLE EDIT: also, it specifically calls you the prototype... perhaps this will have some significance on how you think? i mean, they could choose for you to be any big daddy, why specifically the first?

She does keep the ADAM levels balanced. Although Rapture is crap, it's economically stable crap. Everyone has ADAM, and people don't have to kill as much for it... until you come along. The Big Sister worked hard to stabalize Rapture, and she's not just going to let you come and mess it up. Everytime you kill a Big Daddy and take a Little Sister, it throughs the ADAM flow off, and that's why she attacks you.

where do you get your information? like, is there an official site? or is this all speculation?

also, wouldnt you have been in rapture in the first place? where would the need to kill another big daddy come from if she keeps everything regulated?

Well ADAM is the basic building block of everything so you may need some to dsevelop your character further, I guess. Like you don't have to fight the Big Daddies in the first one, you can leave them be if you want. I'm guessing that's similar in this game. Although, who knows :3
You start off without a little sister. And you can adopt ones from dead big daddies but you have to protect them from other enemies. If you kill a few big daddies it is supposed that the Big Sister appears to attack. Although what if you then beat the Big Sister. It's the end of the game, that'd be pointless.

^ Maybe you can't, maybe she just kicks your ass in a cinematic? I played only the demo of Bioshock though.

It was the article in Game Informer. They had like a 5 page article on it.

EDIT: also, BDEX, i'm guessing she probably runs when she has like, 1hp left... it's a possibility, at least. Either that or she's invincible o.o

I read that it is a cinematic type of thing, any little sister nearby starts singing in a worried tone then you see a red light infront of you then the Big sister appears. Leaps at you and stabs you with her needle/arm/thing then jumps back (she can leik jump across an entire room in one jump) then any debris in the room (furniture, rubble, etc) shakes and is thrown at you then the screen fades to black.



Unfortunately I'm in England and as far as I know they don't sell that here D: and I don't think they'll ship it leik across the world to UK.

i just <3 bioshock~~~ i need to replay it X_X;

I was playing Bioshock earlier. I just got up to fighting my first big daddy, I'm a wimp aswell so it was on easy. Still got the adrenaline going.

i never played the first one, but i think i might try out the new one... it's an interesting concept...

O: Play the first one. The plot is epicness and it's fun! If you don't want to spend cash then You could always try to get a copy online via torrent, Might I recommend Skullptra's copy ? (It's something like skullptra...) It's what I use :3 very good.
