I bet there has been a million threads about this. I've saved all my skill points and Im lvl 15. 7 points. What should i spend it on? Cooldowns or increase power?"

What I've done is put 5 points Cooldown on Magic Missile, and I'm gonna put 5 points of increased damage on Firebolt.

Yeah what he said, or some kind of comination of cool time and/or damage to firebolt.

If someone gave me the stats for empowering level 8 firebolt I could tell you what one is better. =(

Anyways, say you put empowers on a level 3 firebolt, do they carry over to the next levels?

I've gone ahead and just maxed out the cool down time on almost all my spells minus the Magic Burst, Dispel, and Life Tap. Once I get the higher leveled spells such as Fire Blast, Ice Blast, etc. I'm going to just max out their damage because i'm sure the cool down time is insane on them so even if I were to max that out it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

The only thing about adding power to a spell is that when you add one point it adds (for example) +7 m.dam. and when you add another point it only bumps it up to +9 only changing it by +2.

I added one point power to all my spells (except ice obviously) so that the changes look like:

Missile (lvl 3): +17
Fire (lvl 2): +22
Lightning (Lvl 2): +9
Total: +48 dam, 3 skill points

If you added those 3 points all to Fire it would probably only raise it to +30 (a guess...)

Well, seeing as how i've gone and re-did my Mage i'm going five points in decreasing the cool down time of Magic Missile. Then i'm saving up every point after that for when I get ALL my spells. Then i'll just empower whatever I feel is necessary.

If you don't and are a mage...how do you kill? Melee? or just stare til they die? o.O Anyway, on the topic, like 2nd post said best first 10 points are 5 on CD of MM and 5 on +Damage of Firebolt. Other than that, i would save til you get the upgraded versions of all the basic spells with the added cast time, forgot they're names. They come @ 41 and 51 i think.
