Party make-up
This morning, i got to enjoy one of the most extreme exp intake since i've played Fiesta. We were getting exp like nothing. Mobs dropping by the seconds. The party was made up of 1 cleric, 1 axe fighter, and 3 mages. There was a few times where us mages were on the border of dying but i'm sure the way we were getting exp it would have not matter if we died once or twice. Now, is this party the best make-up for maximizing xp gain? Or swap the warrior for another cleric?

I've always liked that kind of party. Especially when the tank has mock. The mages can nuke the hell out of the monster without worrying about aggroing.
|
Three Mages? A Cleric? And a meat shield? Perfect party. While the meat shield gets clobbered the Cleric heals him while the Mages just sit in the back and nuke the hell out of everything. If I could just find a meat shield, a Cleric, and two other Mages we could head into CP and just blow shit up, gaining massive amounts of EXP in process. :3

Uruga exp ftw. But for levels 40+.
|
it would be safer with 2 clerics + 2 mages and 1 tanker (:

The other day I had 2 archers and 2 mages in the party with myself as the healer. That was the fastest XP gain I've ever had. We had one archer who was the tanker and we were at King Colls... the monsters dropped so fast that I only had to do like 2-3 heals and he was dead (of course if you have less than 600HP heal it wouldn't work). It was just a stream of mob after mob. I got 60%+ within an hour... crazy~
As much as it'd be nice to have a tank in the party as long as the wannabe-tank has enough HP and def to take at least a hit... you can have a great party... :P |
If you can find a party like that sure. Though you just need to find it once and add everyone to yuo FL for the future. xD
|
The key make up is a good healer that can keep his/her head cool with 5 mobs surrounding the party. And some pty members willing to use some hp stones/pots here and there.

- the tank isn't that great of a tank D: - the clerics aren't that great of clerics D: - the stuff you're killing is too strong for you D: IMO |
You're forgetting one huge advantage with having two clerics though - longer camp outs when grinding. If you're in a place that takes forever to get to, having two clerics isn't so bad. Once the cleric runs out of stones, the party will usually have to head back or wait for them to return. Having two clerics means longer grind sessions. It's less pressure for the one person too.

Does a cleric ever get a heal all party member spell?
|
Yeah, at level 65/68 as a paladin though. Unfortunately class 3 hasn't been implemented yet.

I'm sort of excited about those higher levels but at the same time i'm kinda disappointed. Its a pain in the rear end to level up at my current level. The only reason I even got up to level 30 was because of a x4 EXP, x3 drop event that [GM]Steam had going that night. It lasted for 7 hours and I spent every single moment grinding the hell out of it. I went from level 26 to level 28 in Burning Hill then I moved on to Moonlight Tomb and kept fighting until I was almost level 29.
I kept dying so I said eff it and I just went and did some quests. Thankfully enough those quests gave me enough EXP to hit level 30. But now the only way I can even get any decent EXP is by fighting with a group of four other people in Collapsed Prison. And even getting 100+ EXP per kill isn't much. It takes about twenty minutes just to get one bubble. So I can't even begin to imagine how its going to be once I hit the higher levels. |

Or: - Your in a place with lots of spawns in which case you can have 1 too many monsters after you. - You actually want your tank to survive magic attacks (I laugh at the newbi's at the prison who think the low-level tank can tank the vivi.) - Your party is prone to attracting large mobs (Dungeon's) - You know that 1 of your party members isn't too bright and brings back 5 extra monsters while attacking the 10 around you. - You know your cleric believes they can tank and begins hitting the enemy instead of healing the tanker. |
It is relaxed when you have more than one cleric. It can really make the difference between everybody dying at one point too, if the cleric dies and there are aggros, hehe =3
Also, long live archer tanks D:~~~~!! |

T.t; But But But...lightning Viviiii
|
Yeah~ Go Archer tank!! Lmao.
But you definitely need a cleric who doesn't panic and a party who understands that he/she cannot heal everyone if the party gets mobbed for whatever reason. After awhile I learned to just keep healing the tank and NOT use invincible though it makes things easier. It's better to keep it for emergencies!! Like when a King Coll suddnely spawns right behind the party... |
I hate being tank mage D: I dislike it when tanks refuse to taunt.
|
Well, that's cause Mages can't tank... D: It's like one hit and 80% of your HP is gone. Even if heal gets you the first time, you're screwed the second hit. D: But if you have me as your cleric you'll live... lmao
|
I tanked two wearbears and a goblin swordsman the other day, I was so proud. Of course I had a cleric lol.
|
I know what you mean, I get all proud when I tank strong things, its like a low defense thing or something XD You're like, WOOHOO

The best party setup I have had, for the Uruga aoe stuff at all members being lvl 51+
1 Tank 1 Cleric 1 Archer , gets a great aoe poision 2 mages for aoe dmg |

i'd rather be the tank than have to heal my mage like crazy kekeke or maybe there isnt a choice... even the mobs love u better XD i freak when i hv robo stepping on my tail... 1 hit and he takes double my life... |

Ohhh we were in a party last nite in Uruga.. and we had a fighter that doesnt taunt!! i never met one that doesnt taunt before.. but he just let our archer tank... it means a touch more healing for me but it wasnt too bad... so we ditched him in the end... (when he tried to leech exp off us by going afk)
i guess... it depends on how intense the healing is in the party... if u're partying at a higher lvl mob place... and tankers are losing life relatively quickly... we really dont wanna have to heal a mage as well, who has voluntarily taken their own life... u'll be surprised at how quick our SP disappear too... and our heal cool down isnt really as fast as we'd like... if its not that intense then personally, lifetap is fine by me... |
mages tanking=death
|
LOL actually... last time we had 3 clerics and an archer tanking and she still died (this awesome tanking archer who sacrificed her life is O-mie)....
kekek when u hv too many clerics u'd think that someone else would do the heal... its called.. something like... diversed responsibility or something... (its psychology) |
I love tanking as a Mage. It earns me bragging rights and I lurves me some bragging rights. xD
As a Mage i've tanked a lot of things. And for the most part, I did not have Clerics healing me. I've tanked two Prince Slimes and a Queen, the King Slime himself, Zombie(s), Zombie Master, a Zombie and two "Masic" Staves, and thats all I can think of as of right now. But a lot of times I won't tank and I get pissed when i'm forced to because the Clerics are too stupid to heal me. If someone's tanking and there's no other tanks around you HEAL that tanker. Not just watch them die. |
