Gifting in exchange of game currency is STRICTLY PROHIBITED

Quote:

We would like to make sure you understand our gifting rules:

It is a violation of our terms of service to exchange any items from the store with game currency. Do not solicit gifting to and from other users especially if you don't know them and do not ask for game currency money (gold or silver). If you engage in this activity, we will suspend and possibly terminate your account.
It came to our attention recently that some users are trying to exploit our gifting feature with inappropriate activity involving SparkCash purchasing using bad funds. Please be aware that any exploits with gifting or SparkCash will immediately result in account termination for both parties. We do not tolerate this kind of abuse.

Multiple gifting to your alternate account is prohibited. If your alternate account cannot purchase then there is a good reason for that, please contact Customer Support to clear any billing issues you may have.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Rule Confirmed. :D

o.O is this the right section?

Villi 02-22-2009 02:49 PM

rules are made for breaking.

Leesa 02-22-2009 02:54 PM

Ivramire 02-22-2009 02:57 PM

^I didn't think it was prohibited?

Leesa 02-22-2009 03:01 PM

Oh wait >.> I mixed it up with sharing accounts.. k nvm >.<"

Lone_Wolf 02-22-2009 04:01 PM

on EU alternative account is prohibited though.

Also whre they that stupid to not forsee that this would happen?

Shiirn 02-22-2009 04:46 PM

Just because they say so, doesn't mean it doesnt happen.

cillia 02-22-2009 05:04 PM

=/ i thought outspark knew that would happen from day 1..

A_Forever 02-22-2009 05:54 PM

i think so.. x.x idk i ish confused too

Lone_Wolf 02-22-2009 07:32 PM

Well that was easy to forsee that it would happen.

Some spoiled kids us it as a way to get rich IG cause they are bad at it :P

Also it opens a lot of doors for scamms.

Hessah 02-22-2009 10:23 PM

At first i was like WAAAAAAAT cant gift to alt accounts?!

then i realise it's "multiple" gift... and it also said "If your alternate account cannot purchase then there is a good reason for that"...

So I think it's for those people who has a "flagged" accounts...

CrazyVietFs 02-22-2009 10:59 PM

i use 1 account as storage... but all my character are 20+.... i can't send gift to my noob account.... ?? Or use my noobs account to send gift to my Main?...

Hessah 02-22-2009 11:02 PM

I think that paragraph was particularly aimed at those who are gifting to their "alts" which have probably exploited the gifting system or had problems with cash shop...

"Multiple gifting to your alternate account is prohibited." Don't know wat they call as "multiple" but... single is fine? XD

Hraesvelg 02-22-2009 11:13 PM

There is also the issue of people using several accounts, charging with PayPal or a credit card, gifting, and then reversing the charge. The account receiving the "stolen goods" in this case would whine to the high heavens about a gift being taken away, even if they got it by fraudulent means. This is just nipping something like that in the bud.

You haven't seen the shouts in game?

I saw one in Elderine "selling raccoon mount whisper me," and I pop my head in biweekly, lol.

As for the "Multiple gifting to your alternate account is prohibited." line, personally I think that's kind of iffy. I myself hold only one credit card, and that's locked in my main Paypal account. Unless they've changed it, a Paypal account can be used at most one on Outspark account, no?

Speaking of which.. I actually saw someone vending an actual raccoon (15 days) for 4g in Elderine once.. it was in their shop.

I can't play right now >_> (Haven't played since like.. Aug/Sept)

Don't have a computer that can play/handle games...

Hessah 02-23-2009 04:29 AM

I charge my bf's account and my own account with 1 paypal account... is that suppose to be a problem?

Well if they let you do it, then it's probably not. I know ijji didn't let me do it, and I moved from ijjiGunZ to Fiesta. So that Paypal statement is personal experience off of GunZ, haha.

cillia 02-23-2009 05:45 AM

its all so confusing for me T_T;;

Lirange 02-23-2009 12:50 PM

i think what there trying to say is that you cant give someone in game money for them to gift you. Thats like selling sparkcash?
But i dont really understand the no gifting to alts.

Silent Wizard 02-23-2009 02:42 PM

Its a good way to avoid gifting when you dont want to. Gifting strangers who shout or wisper you can ignore but when a friend or guildie asks, ...

BTW I note the statment reads "gifting in exchange for in game $" Does that mean gifting in exchange for gear, scrolls, pots, stones, and mats is ok?

What they mean is, if you have an alternate account which cannot charge spark cash, you cannot keep gifting CS items to it.

Phantom Badger 02-23-2009 07:31 PM

They say you can't sell SC items for IG Money (Gold and silver)

This means we can trade for it in copper ? xD

Or gems.

I love ambiguity.

Hessah 02-23-2009 09:30 PM

Things in brackets are examples... Copper and gem are still part of the "IG money" group.. so I'm afraid your argument wont work there in court...

but the suggestion of giving items might LOL!! (But in the court of Outspark.. they always win... trade at your own risk)

CrazyVietFs 02-23-2009 10:50 PM

i'm curious of how strictly it will affect now... My noobs alt contain most of my scroll 400+ tier 3 vit, 200+ tier 4 vit, and 20+ stack of sbl, BL, BT, and lots of other Mats... though they are lvl 20+, i do sometimes hob on them for a mara KQ, or Honey KQ, my cleric is 40+... "40 enter Honey? all +9 vit 3 tier 4 buff"... and yeah, i do send charm, HP extender to my noob, and also then use my noob for production, then transfer large amount of scroll to my Main.... hopefully this will not consider as *SC selling* lmao, they would defintely know it my alt... *crazyhealer, crazysniper, crazywarrior...* "if they consider myself as *SC selling* i'm probably quit and start on Star Craft II and Diablo III

Sir_Jacob 02-25-2009 01:37 PM

alright, what I got from that and from the GMs harping at me for stuff this is what it means (according to me)

If you try to get gifted items for in-game money, both people get banned. i.e. going around eldy shouting, 'buying premium beauty coupon' is illegal now. If you do, they will ban you because OS doesnt like people getting SC items w/o actually getting SC. Its all business.
The thing about not gifting multiple items to alt accounts is a bad phrasing on their part. To me i think its talking about alt accounts that cant buy sc themselves (i.e. scammed OS so they dont like you anymore) like some people have said earlier. There is nothing wrong with moving IN-GAME items back and forth between different accounts. I got a PM about a month ago with a message like the quote at the beginning telling me to stop trying to get gifted stuff for items, and I'd show it here but I cant get to the OS forums from here beacuse it has the word game on it O.o such evil!

Basically, dont try to buy/sell spark cash items and your fine. there is nothing wrong with giving gifts, but dont try and get a profit out of it ;D

btw Sir_Jacob is back ;D

ZeroZone 02-25-2009 01:51 PM

Outspark is fucking stupid and this is why i dont play that play no more. they would have this problem if they would just allow sc items to be tradable buuuuuuut nooo they wannna be stupid and try to control the world so of course people are always gonna break the rules because even if they say dont there will always be people willing to spend real money just for fvirtual casg ans vice cersa it is the way these games work when someone wants to be powerful they will make sacrifices....

All outspark dumb asses need to do is make the SC items (ALL of them
) tradeable and we would be have no stupid issues like this right now...

To add on to this it is STUPID AS FUCK that you cant even xfer sc items between your own characters. So they just taj up your little intentory space you have and all outspark says is

No they will not be tradabnle...Sorry for this inconvenence MAN FUCK OUTSPARK

just my 2 cents

Nevje 02-25-2009 01:51 PM

I don't actually think OS is bothered by the way people gift for ingame money. Either way they get their money for the items.

I think they made this rule because a lot of people got scammed and started crying. They gifted items and got no ingame money or figured out later they got payed way less then what it was worth. So they make a report and say they got scammed. Or the other way, they payed money and never got their gift.
Personally, I think OS is sick and tired of these reports of people that got "scammed" because they trusted a stranger, so they made it prohibited. So, if you do gifting now, its on your own risk, you have no right to make a report about it if you get scammed because then you'll get banned.

ZeroZone 02-25-2009 02:02 PM

which bring's up my point.... if they were tradeable less people would get scamed... I WIN

It sounds more to me like their isssue is plp creating accounts and chars, charging sc, selling gifts, then deleteing the account and disputing the charge.

Sparkeh 02-25-2009 06:35 PM

I saw andromeda sell her V-day outfit Perma...xD!

Eroge 02-26-2009 05:07 PM

I just wish the cash shop items were tradeable because I really want those Cat ears but don't feel like spending real cash. Fiesta is the only game I've played where all cash shop items are bound. Maybe it's for the economy's sake?

Well we wish it is....D:

I really want those ears so much ;~;

Lirange 02-26-2009 09:29 PM

Maybe because outspark thinks it will decrease their sales?
But i really think that making cash shop items tradeble increase sale a lot. Take flyff for example.

Hessah 02-26-2009 10:20 PM

Flyff was a failure! I don't want it to be ever like Flyff

<-- Anti-Flyff

Blaaaaaaaah 02-26-2009 10:34 PM

Actually I'm kind of happy that CS items aren't tradeable. FlyFF had the biggest inflation ever to the point where I can't even buy in-game armour because of the high prices...

Lone_Wolf 02-27-2009 06:57 AM

GM's of Flyff= uber fail, OS is going the same way.
