Not only am I going to be lazy during KQ, I'm gonna BRAG about it!

So a little earlier my wife and I enter a Robo KQ to try and finish up the first quest. We're both level 36 so only the last few mobs are red to us, and I'm pretty buffed up with SC so I know I can contribute a lot.

We start off and everything is moving along just hunky dory, when all of a sudden somebody says that "Person X" isn't doing anything in their group. I assume this is to point out that someone is either afk or just leeching and needs to get their ass in gear.

A minute or so later, "Person X" is asking to be partied, followed by his/her original party leader admitting that "Person X" was kicked for not doing anything in their group.

So then, "Person X" starts bragging in /say and /shout about how they don't have to do anything for the rest of the KQ but dance around and be lazy! This was still at a stage during the KQ when it wasn't too hectic, so I spent a few moments openly admonishing "Person X" for their lousy behavior, with the majority of our partners agreeing with me.

In the end, we finished up the KQ just fine with only a few deaths, which my wife ran around helping to revive. Our rewards, which always seem to be just utter trash, once again consisted of a couple potions each. :cries:

But one other thing before I close out this rant: As I mentioned I am a pretty decent tank with a large HP pool and defense of almost 400, but I'm also still only level 36 so the very last mobs and the boss are an angry, blood red to me and put a major hurting on me. So, rather than tanking at that stage it was decided I'd be a runner. Only problem was I didn't have any speed increase scrolls on me. My wife did, but we were bugged and couldn't trade. Out loud, in open /say, she said that she was going to drop a T2 speed increase scroll for me, so please nobody pick it up.

Need I mention that some idiot picked up the scroll anyway?

Fortunately, one of our group mates who was an all around good guy ran me over to the edge of the room and away from everyone, and dropped another scroll. Nobody had the balls to try and steal that one.

Whoever you are who stole that first scroll, may I suggest that since you obviously needed it more than I did that you please sell it for a silver or two and buy yourself a personality? Thanks.

Loveless 02-03-2009 01:58 AM

Haha I have no idea how many times Robo KQ has made me -headdeskfacepalm-

Just today we had a party of three archers and we invited a cleric. Us archers were doing tons of damage and receiving it too... and the cleric, instead of healing, leaves us saying he needs more exp. O_o Says that a fighter will give him more exp... right, three DDs are probably going to cash in more exp overall than a lone fighter. I should know... I'm a friggin' fighter on my main. >.>

Yup, lovely bunch of people in Robo. :]

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Also make sure that the party is on Free Allocation when u do drop and pick up...

lost a few scrolls like that too LOL

Vasu 02-03-2009 02:42 AM

Yeah, it's a sad story in Robo nearly everytime. Also, just so you know, you weren't bugged, it's just that you can't trade in KQs.

Ivramire 02-03-2009 02:42 AM

Ahh...Robo KQ.

You either:

*buy a new desk due to all the /headdesking the idiots in there make you do

*attain the understanding and patience of a saint, petition the Almighty God/gods/gods of atheism to forgive your idiot brethren, because they quite literally know not what they do.

*become one of them...

Good luck man.

^and yes, what Vasu said about trade is true. If you want to exchange something, you'll have to either drop it or set-up shop.

EdwardWarlock 02-03-2009 04:08 AM

Robo. Ew.

Yeah you can't trade items, but you can drop them. In the future, come prepared for the worst because the people in this KQ play awful. Make sure you have speed scrolls and everything else, as you never know what job you'll have to undertake/be left with in Robo. It's all about preparation.

Hraesvelg 02-03-2009 05:16 AM

Since you probably trust your wife, you could set up shop for some insane amount for a single scroll and then she can give you the money back after the KQ.

Hessah 02-03-2009 05:19 AM

I dont think vending works anymore in KQ....

(maybe coz people kept complaining that people are selling GH keys in KQ LOL!)

Hraesvelg 02-03-2009 05:59 AM

Figures. There always has to be a few dicks that ruin it for everyone else.

My wife is the best!!

:love::love::love::love::love:
:love::love::love::love::love:

Sometimes I have to wonder how it is she puts up with my extreme outspokenness like she does, when people in the game make me want to reach through the intertubes and choke the life out of them, but I'm definitely happy.

Vasu 02-03-2009 06:35 AM

Yeah you can't vend in KQs either.

a.L 02-03-2009 07:16 AM

Reminds me of a few blockheads in KKP. Usually there's at least 3 people who afk at the start and leech. Then there's a certain idiot who did nothing the entire KQ but run around and dance. It wasn't like he was a low level fighter who can't survive KKP's belly flops or anything. HE WAS A RANGED CLASS. After telling him off, he STILL did nothing.

It bugs me when the useless people seem to get all the good rewards.

LMAO xD Agreed with a.L... that guy was a jerk.
KKP always has a bunch of losers in it. I especially hate the rangers who do nothing but sit around/do produc skills/dance/be the "cheerleader" etc. Lmao, DO SOMETHING USEFUL! >_> I don't mind fighters that can't survive KKP, but they should at least help mc or DD on the smaller bosses. Ugh -shakes fist- These people make my blood boil.

We feel your pain Giant D: There's idiots everywhere.

Miriamele 02-03-2009 07:33 AM

I've not seen too much leeching in KQs other than KKP. And I can understand why it does have leechers... sometimes it takes forever for a KKP to fill up, and people start doing other things. I've been guilty a couple of times of doing something else and forgetting that I signed up for KQ. It happens. Then I usually remember when the group is at Mara and I go through the mobs to catch up.

But it's just lame when they know they've leeched and then won't even help or anything. I know of a few people who would sign up for each KKP and then just afk at the starting point. Ugh. Easy mats, sure, but irritating as can be.

a.L 02-03-2009 07:34 AM

When you see the same people leeching in almost every KKP, it really gets on the nerves. :/

Mindspank 02-03-2009 09:42 AM

lol another robo thread...

Welcome to Bijou, it only gets worse from there.

Fighters who dont understand the concept of tanking in honeying, clerics who dont heal in any KQ, warriors who mock entire mobs of ogres during Minidragon while your fighting GGK, and I can only speculate as to how retarded it gets from there because im not high enough level to join spider or KKP.

Idlers are only just the beginning of your headache.

I have given up on Bijou for the most part. I extreme solo now. Extreme solo as in I dont buff anyone, I dont party anyone, I wont even rez someone who dies right in front of me. I had a few 7x's following me around in CP wondering if farmbots came back because all I did was mob and didnt speak at all. I hate people now in this game and it started with robo, so I feel your pain.

I would still have to say that there are a lot of decent people in this game, you just have to find them and remember who they are. If we all stick together then things will get done. This game has a lot going for it, but unfortunately the free-to-play model draws in way more riff-raff than even WoW, which in my experience was highly annoying a lot of the time. I can recall having people ninja loot decent green gear in instances that would have upgraded me, even though they had better blue gear on already!

My favorite MMO is still EverQuest 2, but when a Station Access account (which allows you access to 10 toons instead of only 4, which is important given how many tradeskill classes that game has) costs $33 and we have two of them between my wife and I, it just got too expensive with all my medical crap I have going on, so we switched to this free game knowing that we could spend just a few bucks here and there and it would go a long way.

I know you've had thoughts of quitting, but knowing that the level cap is going up and bugs are slowly getting fixed, I hope that you will stay. I really look forward to hanging out with you once I get to the higher levels. We seem to think a lot alike.:smarty::hulksmash:

Enraya 02-03-2009 11:01 AM

...though there are idiots, I don't agree with Mindspank. There's a lot of amazing people in Fiesta, you just have to seek them out and stick by their side.

Mindspank 02-03-2009 11:42 AM

Man I find myself explaining myself alot.

**If you dont want to read the wall of text, here's the abridged version: Im a negative person, defined by negative events. Dont let my views turn into yours.**

I dont think that the entire server is full of crap. If I did I would go back to playing Battlefield 2. When I say I give up on people its more of an embelishment on how I actually feel. Fiesta operates alot like New York City. Alot of people running around doing their own thing. Some of them AMAZING people with shining personalities, alot of them filth and some just plain shit. What I mean by "Filth" is that while they have redeeming qualities (This ties into the expression I just made up just now "While you can always clean off filth, shit will always stink.") they have less than reputable means about doing things. I have met people in this game that were highly regarded as great people but were downright abbrasive when I met them. It all depends on the circumstances.

Your best friend might be someone elses enemy.

On a simmilar note dont let my stigmas and experiences DEFINE your overall opinion and views of the game or its players. People are here to draw their own conclusions and make their own friends while playing the game the way THEY want to play it. Just because the overall experience I have had with the community I play with has been negative does not necessarily mean yours will.

When playing a game with other people you are going to see the bad in people come out. Thats a given. And being that I am an overall negative person out of the game, I try to be as positive as I can but so much happens to me because I leave myself open that it just gives me a sour taste about the community in general. Alot of my negativity about its people is a byproduct of my own personal negativity twards life. When your a positive person, you tend to view life through rose tinted glasses. Well when your a negative person, you cant see life through your glasses because they are covered with shit.

On a side note. I was thinking about quitting. WAS. Too many people want me to quit. I had to remove myself from my guild because people were chain warring me. People tell me in whisper they want to slit my throat and kill my wife and kids. People dont like me. So in light of these facts, im not going anywhere. Because if they hate me so much, they will eventually quit because I wont. Im stubborn, negative and slightly optimistic. A sour mix but sometimes that sweet burst of optimisim at the end is worth it.

The only way people are getting rid of me is if I get banned, and I dont forsee that happening anytime soon.

FoxyBrown 02-03-2009 06:00 PM

Lol Mindspank... I'm glad to see you aren't quitting.

What do you do that makes people hate you so much?

Mindspank 02-03-2009 10:32 PM

To be honest I dont really know. Its like that out of game too. People just hate me for no reason. I dunno and it doesnt matter lol.

<ontopic>
Anyways robo sucks, but it is beatable. Its absolutely deplorable what that guy did.

I think I know why. People hate you for the same reason they hated Socrates thousands of years ago.

For the uninitiated, have a free history lesson (actually a fascinating read!) :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socrates

So I figure it this way... if they're only threatening you with the light-duty crap in game like a Columbian necklace, it's all good. Once they start discussing hemlock? To quote a song by Rush:

"You better run home boy; a fact's a fact from Nome to Rome, boy!"

Mindspank 02-04-2009 03:29 AM

Im the "gadfly" of Fiesta?

NICE.

GentleGiant 02-04-2009 06:10 AM

From what I've seen of your posts up until now, yes you are. And that's actually a good thing because too many times in this society of ours bulls**t gets a free pass. I'm hard on myself for my own transgressions so I'm just as hard on the crap I see in the Fiesta community. If it's devoid of ethics I'm on it like white on rice. Apparently you are as well and that's a GOOD thing.

P.S. after reading through these forums for a while last night my wife even said, and I quote, "this Mindspank guy - he's just like me and you hun!" and then she laughed. Congrats, you have yourself a fan base! :zomg:

Hraesvelg 02-04-2009 06:15 AM

Do you two need a room?

GentleGiant 02-04-2009 06:27 AM

Uh, no....

Just showing someone their due respect. I'm sure he gets the point.

Yosei 02-04-2009 06:36 AM

I've been running into idiots everytime I play lately. I played earlier today and we only have 2 people who were able to tank and one of the fighters was absolutely refusing to do anything <.<

Mindspank 02-04-2009 09:05 AM

Honestly I have been giving Kingdom Quests some serious thoughts. The KQ's ive been "soul searching" about were robo and honeying, and to be perfectly honest, after giving it some serious thought, I think the KQ's should remain unchanged. And this is what I think about it.

Its like a gutcheck. Like for example, when you play Final Fantasy games, while the endgame is challenging and rewarding, the main reason why you grind away to level 99 is to defeat the weapons. Or in the case of FF9, that big ass orb whos name begins with a "U", cant remember at the moment.

What im trying to say is that, getting your ass stompled nine times out of ten only makes that one time you DO indeed win that much sweeter.

So I challenge you as players, as a part of this community, to infact NOT giveup on honeying and robo kingdom quests, but to instead join EVERY one you can. Because while yes, there are some crappy players, under those intense circumstances are when your going to see the good players shine. And also you might take away some friends. I have, honestly, met alot of the good players I know IN kingdom quests, a third of them from robo/honeying.

Try it and see, as a community sociological experiment. Go in there with a positive attitude and go in there as much as you can. I think by showing newer players that positive thinkers can help win kingdom quests, we will, in the end, groom the community twards winning more Robo and Honeying KQ's.

Not to mention it will help me KQ Leech honeying to get my blue bow.

GIMMIE MY BOW NOW!!!!!1!!!1!!ONE
