Rosetta Stone sux D:
Yup... I'm another one of those ppl who wanna learn a little Japanese XD So I tried rosetta stone.... AND IT SUCKED! T.T They give you pictures and you pretty much guess everything... theres no translation which also confuses you because they use the same picture multiple times..and the pictures sometimes have so many things in them its not that obvious what theyre talking about D:
I mean... I can't go to Japan and the only thing I can do is point the sky and say "oooo!! hikooki!!" D: -Looks at Loveless' profile pic- :cries: I know i know... T.T |
Booyah likes Rosetta Stone o:
|
I dun >.>" Ish too confusing D:
|
Everyone has their own methods of learning. I took German, but my German teach basically gave us paragraphics with blank spaces and had us fill them in, and then a sequence of words, and had us turn them into sentences, then she'd give us like 50 vocabulary words, then give us a quiz on 10 of them and they were also the ones I didn't get down.
But apparently that worked for some of her students, so she kept doing it. |
I mean I learned a few things D: and I guess I gave up too soon or didn't put enough effort into it >.<" I guess I'm not a language person o.o
|
Isn't it why they said Rosetta Stone was better than other methods? Because they have no translations, only pictures. I think I could learn Tagalog like that.
|
Everyone can learn a language. But Japanese is a very hard language to learn, from what I've heard. Perhaps taking a real class will help you?
What do you learn the most from in other subjects, such as history? Reading? Posters? Charts? etc. You just might not be a visual learner. |
Mmmm... :O I'm a bit too lazy right now to find out how I can learn D: All I know is that I want an easy way to learn Japanese... which isn't possible so :cries:
|
If you want I can speak to you only in Japanese. xD

Other than the absolute crap I posted before, I can speak a little Japanese.
Desu. |
I also like it. I usually just use it for expanding vocab and improving reading speed for Japanese.
And no, not because it's the birthplace of fucking anime. |

I tried one of those cheap wal-mart learn how to speak Japanese cds and it didn't work. Reminds me of 3 years of Spanish but only learning how to say tener in 3 forms D: |

LOL XD owned. |
Hell, I have no idea what it actually says. You could be spot on. Babelfish is well-known for some rather amusing mistranslations, especially if you run it through several languages.

Online translators are fail. :/

Yeahh...
Rosetta stone was working nicely, until you get to the section where you can't tell wtf you're looking at in the pictures, and it's a new section. I just gave it up. I like my teacher's methods... Start with the basics, a, b, c, d, e... and it wasn't Japanese I was learning, it was Arabic... >_> Thank god I didn't pay 300$ for it. <3 Torrents. |
[Just woke up o.o]
Lol I know I didn't pay for Rosetta Stone either guwhaha XD o.o You were learning Arabic? I ish know Arabic :O But its been such a long time since I was in Syria I've forgotten alot of the grammar and how to write a few things... But I still remember everything with speaking D: I dun have an Arabic keyboard :O |

Actually, if you have a nintendo DS, you can try "My Japanese Coach". I tried it out and it really does help. It tells your phrases, translates them and then helps you pronounce them. It also shows you pictures, tells you how to count, and it also lets teaches you how to write the characters. A lot of good stuff to learn from, from such a little game.

I'm trying to learn Mandarin and Japanese, then either Korean or Cantonese. Already know enough French to get by.
