It was boring to watch. I slept through most of it. Of course, when I heard the name "John Williams" I was all like, "Omfg. Kick ass. -listens to music-" and I sang the national anthem and blah blah.

I will always be respectful when it comes to the national anthem and erm.. the arts. However.. I was told to stand when the people were being sworn in and I flat out said, "No." :3

Oh and I did not like the praying bits either >_>

pray??? lol hahaha alot of my classmates were wining and didnt want to watch it.

lol, i slept through it since the school "had" to watch it and i got in trouble. my teacher told me i am disrespectful then i replied "Ok" then I walked away from him

it was quite boring though :/

I thought the ceremony was gonna be more exciting...thanks for getting my hopes up JFK inaguration video...

I think they should just have the President and VP swear in,President speech, National Anthem, Over.

Apparently it's different if you're actually there to see him...

watching a car go at walking speed for half an hr (or more?) on TV was not very interesting...

Well, he could have pulled a Carter and actually walked it. I would have loved to hear THAT Secret Service conversation.

My school altered our schedules to watch Obama get sworn in.

i was.. but i wasnt hoping for it o__o i was just waiting for a sudden "OMG what was tha???" "Obama has just been shot!!!"

im happy that it didnt happen though

I really hate how they advertised it. They acted like some old dead band was coming back together for one more concert.

The inauguration was a bit of a disappointment, really. The speech wasn't impressive. It was strong, but lacking compared to his acceptance speech for his nomination. All the Obama-zealots thought it was extraordinarily impressive, for some reason. I have nothing against Obama, but some people are blind.

And the way the poem was delivered right after the speech... :sigh:

We. Must. Punc. Tu. Ate. Ev. Ry. Thing. We. Say.

Yeah, the speech wasn't my favorite compared to his speeches at the Democratic conventions and election night win...

LOL ... i'm just kidding i hvnt heard the speech (was probably not on at the right time for me) and it was 5 pages long on smh.com.au >.>

1. Lacking minor errors. Only 43 Americans have sworn the oath, not 44, for instance. Cleveland was the 22nd and the 24th president.

2. "For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth."

I personally think this mistake was unintentional, but you notice the throughout his entire speech, no nod toward the Asian sector is made. Or if there was a reference that I missed, then it was obscure, such as the "sailed across the ocean" reference a peer pointed out to me.

3. Like Hessah said, the "bang" that his previous speeches have had. This one was spoken almost colloquially; it was simple, with little complex syntax or diction. My pessimistic side suggests that this was intended so that many watching would be able to actually understand his speech. But that's me. Either way, it's rather daring, despite what the news reporters comment as a "daring" and "powerful" way to communicate to the American public.

I dont know if u guys have seen this.. but someone did a erm... thing on the most frequently used word in Obama's speech and Bush's speech...
