Stupid/Jealous Friends

What's up with people leaving the party when other people show up without warning? I hate that. Certain chicks don't like other chicks in the group, so they leave. Some guys go silent when certain people are added after they have been chatting at you (even in near death experiences) for the last 30 minutes. Some people take in-game marriage too seriously. It really makes me wanna delete people. After all, why play an online game with real people if you're trying to meet real people? That's what PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii is for.

I try to whisper people and find out solutions to the situation, but they either fall silent, fake a disconnect, or just never return to the party or boot themselves. What the hell is this? :urweird:

Loveless 01-13-2009 04:09 AM

Lol

I laugh at those who take this in-game marriage thing seriously. Well, if they're actually bf/gf then... well, that's still silly actually. Why so serious?

Kenryuu 01-13-2009 04:13 AM

I agree with Loveless. People usually just marry eachother because they want the extra stat boost when party or duo. (Sure they might also marry because they love eachother.)

Hyper 01-13-2009 04:19 AM

I wish the marriage feature was never added. It's bullshit. People flip out if you insult their "husbands", or have a grudge against them/just don't like them. Yes, a lot of teens/tweens take it too seriously. It's a fucking game, you're a teenager. Get over yourself, you're not married.

Andromeda 01-13-2009 04:24 AM

I wish they never implmented the abyss either but it wont be removed ;_;

As Hyper said the marriage system Its bullshit, fail, etc..

I never have taken this marriage system seriously at all I only married Cassius for the ingame benefits. I know he is a male IRL and he knows I'm a male IRL so who really cares why must people this too far its a game.

Loveless 01-13-2009 04:30 AM

Exactly.

I married so I an get the boost. I really don't get why people have to be so anal about every little thing... get that pinecone out of your rear please. :D The game isn't life.

Hessah 01-13-2009 04:34 AM

Hey but why should they strip us who's enjoying the Marriage system just coz some other weirdos take it too seriously?!

But I do agree, i think they should call it... "duo system" more than a "marriage system"...

And I didnt know i should be playing PS3, xbox and Wii if i want to meet real people?! :lost:

I'm playing the wrong game!!!!!!!!

people flip out when someone insult their guildies / friends anyway.. i guess marriage is just an extra excuse to flip out?

Andromeda 01-13-2009 04:40 AM

I want to expand a bit more on Hypers post but I hope I don't cross the line by saying this.

From what I see I frequently see mostly males if not all males seeking ingame GFs on the party match making system. Sometimes I see them shouting in Elderine.

You have to think what their motive is in the long run

Do they want ingame money from their wives?
Do they want to be power leveled by their wives?

Or even far worse are they horny teenagers wanting to get laid?

I know most people do it for the ingame buff but I'm well aware that there would be people who do it for those 3 reasons above.

that made me LOL.

Yes, marriages shouldn't be taken out because of the idiots.

I've always complained people take this game too seriously, to the point of stealing, cheating and scamming people.

Hessah 01-13-2009 04:46 AM

do we get money from hubby / wife through the marriage system?!

Or you mean like.. by making the "wife" buy this and that?

cillia 01-13-2009 04:50 AM

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...so-serious.png

really, why?
but it is true, i dont get why people take in game marriage so seriously.. i mean... >_> its just a game

/sry kind of.. random >_>;; i just had to put that there.

Uh oh. Kev better watch out...

Hessah 01-13-2009 05:12 AM

=D Are you referring to the flip out or the "playing the wrong game"?

Hraesvelg 01-13-2009 05:23 AM

The latter.

MikeyG 01-13-2009 07:21 AM

Yeah.. I have to agree with Mikey here..

There's certain people I've met during my greenkie repeat that I realise I don't like... and refuse to be in their party even if it means I have to solo those damn mobs myself as a cleric (which takes foreverrrrrrrr).

It could be just a game, but I like to play games with people I like and enjoy my time on the game, instead of having to put up with e-tards because there are enough irl.

Enraya 01-13-2009 09:27 AM

[center]If I don't like a party, I'll leave, but there's two common rules I follow:
1) I'll always give the same excuse LOL. "Thanks for the party, but I think I'll be better of soloing/alone." (Wording might change, haha)
2) I'll quit party and run away to some other place. Quitting the party and staying at the same grinding spot is a bit disrespectful imo e_e

I agree with you.

And as for the first post about peoples' behaviors..what can we do?
We're humans, and it is only natural for us humans to show how one feels towards each other.

Of course I did feel some 'hate' towards certain members, but only if I had good reasons. I wouldn't of course verbally hurt others with no good reason.
But still...I don't get why people just turn away after 2 seconds after meeting one person :/ and carry some eternal grudge..I just don't get it.

But again, that's the world we live in.

:urweird:

Direct result of abyss BS. When someone has attacked you while in your house they have (IMHO) violated a basic tenet of good sportsmanship and fair play.

No buffs, no heals, and no partys is the result.

Telling them that you need to go help a guildie works great to get out of a party your not happy with.

Yosei 01-13-2009 03:33 PM

Lol, they're young, they can't get married, and basically the marriage in-game is giving them a taste of that fantasy life they wonder about. But yeah... they shouldn't take it seriously.

Girls leaving parties cuz other girls are in the party is just silly o.O Sounds like they want to hog all the "zomg a girl on the internet" glory. I've had girls in the past blatantly try to compete with me. I think its stupid, its the internet. No one cares. They just want to play the game.

Lady-Loki 01-13-2009 03:57 PM

I would say gtg and drop party & leave if someone I don't respect was added to the party - and there are people in the game who I do not respect because of what I have witnessed as their gameplay and lack of respect for others.

Matzy 01-13-2009 06:10 PM

Ahhh, This is the exact reason why I married my bro in-game. No drama! Hahaha :uhoh:

MikeyG 01-13-2009 08:25 PM

lmfao i skimmed this as usual and missed thee marriage part:P
I still stick with what I say, but yeah thats why I married
one of my friends alts ingame that was my lvl.

Hessah 01-13-2009 10:30 PM

I can think if one person that i definitely don't want to party with...

But I don't think I would run into a problem where they're already in a party that I join, coz NO ONE wants to party her LOL!!

She was left to solo in MD once... MWAHAHAHAH (She ask for a party like this: Party plz, party plz, PARTY PLZ, ALL U F*** MOFO PARTY NOOBS) Ya LOL

I feel ya. People get real personal. I've even seen people ex-husbands/wives out of spite. Haha too funny.

haha a poor choice of words on my part. They are all online but they can be enjoyed offline as well, the point is, don't play an mmo if you don't want to meet anybody, stick to a game where no one is needed to play it but yourself.

Please don't double/triple/etc post and use the edit button (exception would be MoS and private forums).

But people who stick up for their in-game husbands because they're cool friends. If someone piss my friend off, I wouldn't be too friendly towards them either. D:

Flowersss 01-14-2009 05:47 AM

^True.
They stick up for them because, they are really good friends, at least good enough friends to get married...and also, they feel obligated too. Think about it. Wouldent you?

Enraya 01-14-2009 07:52 AM

The leave party because another girl is in it excuse is just weird imo, LOL.
People also need to remember, a lot of the time...
GIRL = Guy In Real Life.

I've never met anyone like that before LOL. If I did, I think I would laugh until I get a stomachache xD

I apologize. I just want people to know that their opinions mean a lot to me and I like to give feedback.

Jikanu 01-14-2009 11:53 PM

Correct me if im wrong, but isnt standing up for your friends, or those dear to you, (therefore your ingame spouse) a virtue? O.o

it was last time i checked...

Hraesvelg 01-14-2009 11:56 PM

The argument could be made that, if your friends are jerks and assholes, standing up for them wouldn't exactly be a virtue. Note that I'm not saying that your friends are such, since I don't even know you. I'm just poking holes in your statement, which is kinda what I do.

Kaidela 01-15-2009 11:03 AM

I took it as he meant girls leave parties when a girl they don't like joins. Most of the parties I'm in have more than one girl, even if it's a bunch of people I don't know. o.o (Although... how many of them are actually female is another thing entirely. >_>) And I don't see why people would want the "girl on the internet glory"... that just seems awkward to me. o.O

I don't think the marriage system started this or anything. It may have given people another reason to act like idiots, but people act like that anyway. It's not like there were no in-game couples before marriage was implemented.

Also... I have no problem leaving a party if someone I really don't like joins. I don't wanna deal with that, and it's probably less drama if I just leave. :\ In fact, when people leave like that, they normally have a good reason. Just because it's a game doesn't mean the people playing it have no emotions. o-o;

In the olden days before there was an internet and even in the first 10 years that the internet existed, computers were a mostly male interest. There were bulletin board systems somewhat like what is called a forum today and real-time chat rooms. The two most popular topics were the technology of computers and sex. It was all text with no graphics.

My first (to date myself) online experence was on a 300 baud modem.

It was quite common for males to log on with a female name because you were much more likely to get the attention of others.

Correct, that is an agreeable fact. However, i was simply stating that, if your friend is in a party with a person they dont like, and he/she quits, and is yelled at by a party member for such an action, it would be good for you to defend them, assuming you understand the full situation.
