-.-
i dont get it why choose archers? their def is the 2nd lowest and they use normal damage, the type im strongest against. true they have stat effects but there are plenty of scrolls, buffs, and items out there that increase a persons resistance... so why do people use them:urweird:
|
because they are awsome damage dealers. after 51 you start becoming an aoe machine. if you are gonna solo archers are great later in game. its a more advanced class(harder for newbies). Once you master an archer you can excel with any other class.
|
Archers may have the 2nd lowest def but... what about the mages? They have the lowest defense yet has, more or less, the most people playing them.
Like Zwivix said, archers in most games are for more 'advanced' players. Not the best starter class. |
Archers are great. End of story.
|
archers are my 2nd favorite class after mages
except I wish that dex influenced attack speed. that would make dex archers so amazing and dex would no longer be a "useless" stat |
Archers are a fun class to play. You get to turn mobs...and your friends different shades of green. ^^
And not all archers have sucky defense. But just because they have low defense compared to cleric and fighter doesnt mean their a bad class. They're fun and cute. Archer was my second choice of character, tried fighter for one day(lol), and fell in love with it. And the resistant pots dont work the greatest. Archers have several poisons to poison someone ^^ They're able to kite aoe which makes them excelent at soloing or even duoing with a cleric who doesnt mind running a bit. They're also the best pullers because they can use their aoe poisons to keep aggro. In my opinion, thats why choose archers. ^^ |

in abyss whenever I see archers pull a giant green train the person at least loses half of it and those always come straight at me and then 5 mins later the person loses another half and so I see random mobs running back but then they see me so those come after me too :cries: |
That just means they were bad pullers/aoe'ers. xD
|
That's probably because they run too far.
|
Or they didnt add any points to their natures mist for the CD. Or not aoing enough to keep the aggro ^^
|
im still not convinced
In all the pvps i've had i've only lost 2 a lv 89 archer, no other archer, yet i've lost 2 mages my lv and if they had really good gear a few lower. Mages attack where it hurts archers juut run around and do little damage. :uhoh: they just try 2 get u 2 bleed 2 death which apparently doesn't work that well against me. I mean in the pvp kq when archers attacked me i would just ignored them and kept going only bothering with them 2 get a quick kill point. :urweird:
... hope my wife never sees this thread XD she just happens 2 be an archer |
So I'm not quite sure where you're trying to go with this thread? You can ignore archer's damage in PvP... good for you?
Most people who replied mentioned that the Archer is an aoe machine. And I doubt any would 'aoe' a group of players and expect to kill them. |
People play archers for their own reasons.
End. |
im not trying 2 make fun of archers or anything, i just want 2 kno why people like them so much... im trying 2 decide between a mage or an archer alt... a mage i kno has lower def, but its really hard 2 overlook their aoes and m dmg, but when it comes 2 archers i kno little 2 nothing about them -.-
|
I made an archer because I think they're easier than a mage in leveling.
|
Archers are not as.....squishy.....as mages. Not to mention archers can kite. Mages my level cant kite solo in CP, but I can. Mages cant kite period. They can try, but most ive seen failed. Epicly.
Its all about preference and it seems you have made your mind up already judging by most of the anti-archer tones this conversation has. Archers, like every other class, are to be respected in their own right. Clerics for healing, Fighters for tanking, Mages for AOE, archers for pulling and AOE. Not to mention the sheer ammount of damage an archer can dish out in a short period of time. Ive stolen aggro from tanks on numerous occasions because they couldnt keep up with the damage I was dealing per second. Archers have their place, and for those who have the patience and dedication to get them higher in levels, they will find that the rewards are well worth it. Just my 20 won. |
I enjoy playing archers because it's a fun class and it's the only class that has attracted me. I've tried to level all my alts to 20 but ended up only using them for produc skills LOL. Archers are nice pullers/scouts, which is one of the things I enjoy doing. If you're going to compare mages and archers in terms of pulling, archers > mages any day. Mages have either 1) long AoE cast times or 2) short range. Archers have short cast times and they have pretty long range even for their AoE skills. Also, archers can solo a LOT of mobs by poisoning and running. If you try that with a mage ... good luck. I wouldn't exactly argue that archers are hard to play or are DPS machines though ... .___. Mages seem to have better damage overal and are harder to manage in my opinion. |
Once you get a decent level ice bolt/blast, kiting for mages isn't as hard as it seems. Given that whatever you're fighting is around your level range.
What I like about archers is that their DOTs ignore enemy defence, which is useful if you fight orange/red named mobs. |
Archers are great to play with, especially in KQs. I pulled aggro from a mage with a +9 wand in Mara KQ once .
|
Archers are great for bosses.
|
Fact of the matter is this.
1) Archers are hella fun. 2) They give you a challenge. 3) You can solo easier and effectively, it's honest to god the easiest class to level solo fully. 4) When and IF you reach level 100, you'll see why Archers are the best. ;] If someone can link the skils from the korean site here, that'd be amazing so everyone can see what I'm talking about. |
Well, archers are already supposed to have a lot of things that exist in kFiesta, so I wouldn't take that as a guarantee.
|
TY guys i've decided 2 try an archer, the ideal of pulling crazy big mobs seems fun... maybe because im a mob junkie -.-... and also sry about my other post that made me seem like a jerk i just tend 2 be blunt and i was expressing 1 of my major concerns, pvp as an archer. Well off 2 find an archer build/pvp guide

Officials actually do have some nice guides, and check the Fiestafan wiki for some skill/stat databases/guides (: |

So pvp seems out of the sphere of an archer ><. oh well i made 1 and its not that bad so far i just miss tanking kq :cries: i've already picked my build 25 spr and then 2:1 str to end... mabye my archer will be able 2 prove u wrong when it comes 2 pvp:devil: and if not its cool im going 2 be a pulling god XD... after i get use 2 this class and get poison mist... so far away :cries:
|
Some archers can tank very well. Their poison/bleed helps to keep aggro.
PvP may be out of the question atm but things could change in the future. And in regards to END. Err, just get it from equipment... not really necessary to put it in through free stats. Put those into STR instead. |

I'm not really talking about people with 'godly' equipment and such.

question 0.0
another question does any class use dex?! i mean i would expect arches 2 use it, but apparently even they dont -.- whats up with that is putting dex into build so bad?
btw this archer build sounds exactly like a DD fighters... wasn't expecting that, i mean ill still do less dmg no matter what i do right? -.- this archer thing seems kinda complicated... |
The problem with dex is that it doesn't make a huge difference and the effects can easily be done with scrolls. I can confirm that at least in another version the dex stat does make a difference when added... a full dex archer would be able to avoid 9/10 of the attacks from a mob their own level.
So unless our version of Fiesta 'fixes' that stat up there is little to no point in adding into dex. Though if you'd like to be a unique build, go for it. I have done it in the past. I had gone 25 spr and full dex with (gasp) npc gear... was able to tank fairly well in MD, etc. |

When I only had a cleric and a fighter, I did not get why people had archers. But once you start training archers, you will fall in love with them :D they're just awesome as they are! Lovely evasion and damage if you're going for a str build.

Archers can talk while lvling.
on females they have the best armors, and personally i love shorter women...but for men, i have no clue, but i'm playing 1 now :D |
Beast if you're still reviewing this thread... there is one thing that breakt hese two classes apart that proves A > M any day:
Mage dont do physical dmg.. archers have great skills options and can just sit back and hammer the opponent without using skills.. mages basically are limited to punching slimes. enjoy that. go archers. XP |
Sorry to break it to you, but any practical mage wouldn't even be attempting to whack mobs to death with their wands/staves anyway.
Eh, don't get me wrong, I like playing all classes equally. (Maybe with the exception of clerics; I'd pick doing damage over running around healing anyday.) |
Archers r cool :3 I just don't play them because I like having a million skills and I'm alrdy playing on my fighter XD but theyre smexy, do alot dmg, if you do things right then u could easily have alot of hp/def, they have a fair amount of stones, they can solo mobs at 51+, and as for pvp... it rlly depends on the situation >.>
|
My level 41 archer can already carry quite a few more HP stones than my level 66 mage. >____>;
|
my fighter is 32 and has a little bit more than double my 67 mage's hp stones XD mage stones ftl
