-glomps- wanna go to Japan again took a cruise there once had real takoyaki at a mall it was so good~~~~ way better than the ones I had in Taiwan and definitely 500billion times better than takoyaki I get here in the states x( also want a GIANT Totoro :3 and welcome back ^^ |
I wish I could go overseas there are so many great countries I want to visit
Italy, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, Russia:love: Maybe if the economy wasn't so screwed up Id be able to save my money much easier to do it xD |
Takoyaki = win
I went to a market street... they had the 'bomb'. One HUGE takoyaki with 11 kinds of ingredients in it with different toppings. Cheese <3 Yeah, Europe would be another nice place to visit. Last night I was watching a vid from Japan where they went to... damn I forgot... and they had underground caves and such. So cool. xD |
Yeah it was so amazing! Its a totally different world there
japanese people are so friendly, and we're amazed at how safe the place is! (people just leave their belongings around then go off to bathroom and things) everything was so waoh and awesome... (except for the smoking... they can smoke practically anywhere, even inside resturants) |
Japan, Australia, Spain, Italy, and England
maybe Germany :D Australia has kangarooes and koalas and dingoes:cutielove: Spain and Italy has the art museums. can't ever remember what that one is called. la Vou? and there's Venice with its waterways and gondolas~~~ and I wanna see the castles in England :D |
I was in love with Totoro all over again when I went to Japan... gone nuts when i saw the Totoro shop!
They had a GIANT Totoro sitting outside the Ghibli Museum too!! But I didnt reserve tickets so i couldnt get in... |
Totoro :cutielove:
watched the movie again over my Thanksgiving break another cool plushie to get would be the little furry thing that Nausica has in Nausica and the Valley of the Wind~ |
Apparently this goldfish called Ponyo is very popular there too!
Warning: This song gets stuck on your head... Ponyo Ponyo Ponyo... |
What furry thing...
I like the black dust guys in Totoro. <3 Makkurokurosuke (friggin' long name) And the ones with the arms and legs in Spirited Away. EDIT: Oh yeah, that one... my mom had been talking about it. |
OMG I saw a GIANT Makkurokurosuke (aka dust bunny) in one of those skill tester machine..
GIANT as in.. the size of a.. hmm.. as wide as this 19inch monitor that i've got here... i was like  but there's no way i could fit that in my luggage if i won it so... i just took a photo XD |

i actually went home and watched Grave of Fireflies again last night...
it was so saaaaaaad.... coz i saw a lot of temples / museums and things that links back to WWII which was were Grave fo Fireflies was based..... |

http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p.../Dustbunny.jpg I wanted to take one of these home! |
so cute... :O
|
Hessah went into the evil that is the crane game arcade. D:
When my boyfriend and I went to Japan we were hooked on those. I brought home 2-3 of em... and it's funn cause while I was coming home I was telling him how I wanted a cushion of those things. O_o |
OMG yeah we were addicted tooo!!!
we took 3 toys home too!! http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...pan/Choppa.jpg two Choppa (from One Piece) and a winnie the pooh dressed in the Osaka Crab suit... (Osaka limited we wanted the Winnie the Pooh so bad we spent $40 on it LOL!!!!!!!!!!! |
TONY CHOPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA o:
|
I got Chopper too!!! xD I had him packed in the suit case with the Wii Fit that my brother wanted. He was all square... D:

bring me back a Koaru Hitachiin and a Kyo Souma :zomg:
and tigger > pooh bear <--- I'm a pink zombie! |
HAHA choppa was EVERYWHERE... in all forms and size, apart from being a toy.. it was also in towels, pillows, blankets...
the most addictive part is you spent $5 and it got to a position where it was ABOUT to fall... so u keep trying.. coz it would be a waste of money if u leave now and someone else got it instead!! each time looks like u almost got it, each time it almost fell off the edge -frustrated- in the end the shop keeper helped us relocate pooh bear coz it was actually wedge in an odd position... and we got it almost by just tapping it with the claw... (he may as well just give it to us) |
wanna play the crane claw game now~
the prizes in the machines here in the US are poo I dont really see any crane claws in Taiwan, mostly its those mystery eggs. I got so many little gundam figures from those eggs xD |
yeah the toys in Jap are very good quality~
eventhough the claws are weak and dodgey, the game is designed so that u dont hv to lift the toy up and drop it in a box, if u're lucky u can actually just push the toy down the hole using the force of the claws coming down... and those egg things, they had a wall of those too O_O |

You can get warm drinks from vending machines in Jap~ Above: Hot milk tea and hot chocolate~ |
^ That helped me when we had to walk at night. It used to be that you can buy alcohol and cigarettes from vending machines too. But they just adopted a new system where you have to have a card that checks your age. *0*
But who'd want drinks from vending machines when you have a bajillion izakayas you can choose from with lots of nice drinks. xD One of the first izakayas we went into had an electronic menu so you jsut send in your order and the waiters/waitresses bring you the food. You can pretty much order whenever you want and they don't have to wait around for you~ |
Ohh yeah we saw a lot of beer and cigarette machines too, and generally they only cost about 300 Yen... (which was only like $3-4)
wats izakayas? I dont think we went to one of those... i've only bought my dinner ticket with a vending machine... hvnt seen the electronic menu~ But that sounds awesome! And i'm so amazed at the number of items that are on some menu: 1. Ramen with Beef or, 2. Ramen with Extra beef! XD and that's their business! It was so busy, we had to wait for a table (which is a very common habit in Japan) |
Ohh you went to those places. I went to one at Odaiba for ramen. The line-ups were crazy. *0* And unlike western restaurants you eat, pay and leave. If you happen to be drinking with friends they'd keep ordering... I rarely saw people order one thing and sit for hours with it. Lmao
One thing I appreciate in Japan after going there and coming back is that they have designated smoking areas infront of stations. You'll never have to walk behind someone smoking! <3 Izakayas are sort of like tapas I guess? Mostly drinks and then lots of little appetizer size dishes that are soooo good. |
but... Japanese smokes everywhere else! there was just this one suburb that i went to in Tokyo where smoking on the street is prohibited, you can only smoke at designated areas...
most resturant dont have smoking / non-smoking areas but they're right next to each other which kinda defeats the purpose... |
funny enough, Sparky hasn't posted in this thread yet. lol
|
was sparky the one that really wanted the takoyaki?
