Ugh help me PLEASE
ok so fiesta is being gay again(i hate it when i get technical problems)
anyways every time i start the game the loading screen comes up but right before i get to the server select screen i get this message...... "Runtime error! Program:E/outspark/fiesta.bin The application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way" I've already tried re-installing it! whats wrong? |
Do you receive any error code? Runtime errors are usually accompanied with an error code.
My solution for now is to try reinstalling onto your C drive, Fiesta has a few issues when installed on external or secondary drives. If it doesn't work, post back and we'll try to help you out more mate. If it does work, come back here to confirm. |
Well It's always been on the E drive for as long as I've been playing, but I'll give it a try
|
so i tried installing it on the C drive and it does the same thing.
|
Alright mate, calm down. Try installing the newer .NET Framework 3. Runtime errors are often associated with .NET Framework.
And of course here's the complentary links. Windows XP 32 bit/Vista 32 bit Windows XP 64 bit/Vista 64 bit Hopefully this will work for you - if not come straight back again. Sorry for making you reinstall, I understand how much of a pain it is - but simple solutions first. |
whenever i try to install those it says i have a newer version already installed
|
Can you verify what version you have? Add/Remove Programs, look for your .NET Framework.
|
I've got 3.5 and everything before it installed
k now its just been closing on me with no warning. it wont even get past the loading screen |
I'd really like some more information about your computer. OS, RAM and graphics configuration in particular. DirectX (start>run>dxdiag.exe) should give you these.
I'm thinking an environment change from vista SP1 is the culprit but just need to be sure. |
Operating system: Windows XP(5.1, build 2600)
Ram: like 766MB i think Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 |
Thanks for the quick and detailed response. Couple things I'd like you to try, I'll list them in order of ease.
You could firstly try extending your virtual memory. Looks like you're not getting runtime errors any more (tell me if this isn't the case) right ? Might be experiencing the sudden shutdown problem now. Loveless has brilliantly covered instructions on how to do this in this post. Update your XP to the most recent service pack. Update your 5200 to the latest drivers available here. Are you running multiple monitors? Do you have a high (higher than 1024x768) screen resolution? If yes to either, disable the second monitor or bring down your resolution and try playing Fiesta. Could you also provide details for your motherboard? A long shot suspicion of mine is that it might be a conflict between your onboard video card and your 5200. Also when did Fiesta start playing up on you? Did you install any software before it happened? Was it after a recent patch or does it do this on a regular basis? A system restore might be in order. Restore your system back to a time when Fiesta was working. |
I've got it working again!!
Thank you so much for your help. Loveless's method worked wonders for me!!! thanks so much!! |
