Better watch out when you PvP in Fiesta next time the police might just come and pay your house a visit...

Hyper 10-24-2008 02:36 AM

I find it more sad that police actually care...

Seriously, your character in a game gets deleted. Would you call the police?

Hraesvelg 10-24-2008 02:37 AM

Restored? His account should be banned. Giving out a password violates every online TOS I've ever seen for any sort of game/site/whatever. What she did was wrong and should be a case for the civil courts, but the people running the game shouldn't give his character back to him.

Hessah 10-24-2008 02:40 AM

maybe that's why he went to the police.. coz Maple Story wouldnt give him his character back...

Yeah like Hyper said.. that's rediculous that the police involved... imagine calling 000 (or 911) and say "My character in my game has been killed by someone i met half a year ago, HELP"

LOL!! omg like listen to yourself!

viasta 10-24-2008 02:42 AM

LOLWTF
it's just a game, you don't have to go to some civil court or sue the person or call the cops
and i dont get anything about sharing account is bad :/, I share account with my brother all the time, nothing happened and no one cared...

Perhaps the people on the official forums should be calling the police after they stupidly let the Chinese gold spammers drain their items and delete their characters.

Manzcar 10-24-2008 02:45 AM

LOL I find the whole thing utterly stupid.

a. lady gets so upset about a virtual divorce that she hacks an account to destory it... uhhh
1. the guy calls the cops cause his character is gone.... uhhh
4. the police actually respond and arrest the lady.... uhhh
and L. someone actually took the time to write a story.... uhhh

I don't know which set is more ridiculous.

A_Forever 10-24-2008 02:46 AM

Sounds like the police have nothing better to do there xD!

How dumb.

lamchopz 10-24-2008 02:48 AM

one "word":

LOL

Hessah 10-24-2008 02:51 AM

Btw that story happened in Japan...

obviously Japanese people take their online games VERY VERY seriously LOL!!

Manzcar - you hit all the nails right on LOL!!!!!!!

Hraesvelg 10-24-2008 02:53 AM

Just because something is intangible doesn't mean it doesn't have value.

Belaslav 10-24-2008 02:56 AM

Eg. Dignity. Also intangible, but I'd rather keep that than my in-game char.

Hessah 10-24-2008 02:57 AM

LOL @ Bela HAHAH

I guess techinically she got locked up for hacking?!

Belaslav 10-24-2008 04:40 AM

That's how the cops see it.

Blaaaaaaaah 10-24-2008 06:06 AM

Don't hack game accounts, kids, you might get jailed for it.

^ Not an exaggeration anymore.

Hessah 10-24-2008 06:07 AM

You can no longer hide behind a computer screen!

lamchopz 10-24-2008 06:56 AM

I still can. =P

Hraesvelg 10-24-2008 07:10 AM

No you can't. And put some pants on.

Vasu 10-24-2008 04:19 PM

She's facing 5 years in prison? That's stupid.
