How would you describe this?

Half full?

OR

Half empty?

Pedobear 10-12-2008 11:12 PM

less than half. the glass get progressively wider, so the top half would be able to hold more than the bottom half.

kirbysprite 10-12-2008 11:13 PM

Gah! Let me change the picture then...

Describe that.

Lol.

MikeyG 10-12-2008 11:15 PM

Half full. Because the glass could have never been full to begin with
and there was nothing to empty :D lmfao

Hessah 10-12-2008 11:22 PM

half full... just because i think so...

Pedobear 10-12-2008 11:44 PM

the picture is called "glass_half_empty" so i believe you had your answer before you even asked the question.

Hessah 10-12-2008 11:45 PM

does someone really need to name their picture file "glass_half_empty_or_half_full"?

kirbysprite 10-12-2008 11:46 PM

*sigh*

Seriously, if someone gave this to you, how would you describe it?

Wondering how you guys think.

Blaaaaaaaah 10-12-2008 11:46 PM

Half full.

Hraesvelg 10-13-2008 12:00 AM

It depends on what is in the glass. Vodka? Half empty. Water? Half full.

Dude, THAT is a purely Russian joke. XD

And I'd say half full.

Hraesvelg 10-13-2008 12:18 AM

I was just channeling Pavel Chekov (or Susan Ivonova, depending on your preference).

I'd describe it as a glass of water.

Rightclaw 10-13-2008 12:32 AM

Half empty.

Lmfao.

Vasu 10-13-2008 02:20 AM

You know there's ajoke like this somewhere...

Optimist: This glass is half full!
Pessimist: This glass is half empty.
Corporate downsizing agent: Looks like we have twice as much glass as we need here.

Hessah 10-13-2008 02:38 AM

LOL

btw, if you put a full glass of water next to the half watered glass... most would probably say half empty over half full...

Andromeda 10-13-2008 02:40 AM

You know what Id just drink the water and say it empty :)

a way to make a tough question easier?

Vasu 10-13-2008 02:57 AM

I disagree that half empty implies pessimism though, saying that it's half empty shows that there is scope for improvement, room to do more, while half full makes it sound like that's enough.

Hraesvelg 10-13-2008 02:57 AM

I just hope it isn't lighter fluid, Andromeda. Then you'd just drink it and say, "Ggrrk!" and keel over.

lamchopz 10-13-2008 07:52 AM

It's half.

The rest are details.

:D

a.L 10-13-2008 07:54 AM

Does it matter?

iDerrick 10-13-2008 09:08 AM

If someone gave me this glass of water, I'd be pretty pissed.

Who drank my my damn water?!

Luna 10-13-2008 07:23 PM

It's just water.. >.< Why does there have to be some wacky pyscholgical factor that revolves around it... It's things like this that confuse small children..and retarded people such as myself LOL

Drake1 10-13-2008 09:08 PM

half empty because....err....BECAUSE I SAID SO!

Yeah, studies have shown, people that say half full are optimists. People who said half empty are a pessimists. Just something I learned in my health class. We were learning about self-esteem... But whatever...

Hessah 10-13-2008 10:48 PM

its like "if you cross your arms you feel insecure" "if you look to the left before you talk you're lying"

i think people are reading too much into little gestures and responses...
