halps plz?

Hey.. what do you call it when um.. imagine you play a song and then the disc kinda stuffs up and it goes all weird and "winded down"... what's the called? I'm trying to do that to a song but I have no idea what to look for or what term is used on those...

kirbysprite 09-22-2008 03:39 AM

It sounds like a DJ scratching a record. I don't know really, what you're talking about...

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 03:41 AM

Yeah that! I'm trying to google it so I can find out what programs can do that. I have adobe soundbooth but I'm not sure if that program can do it. Dx I can't find the option anyway.

I never fiddled with audio so I'm a total noob at this.

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 03:44 AM

I think I found a program *0*

Hessah 09-22-2008 03:48 AM

err... like a CD skipping?

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 03:52 AM

Not skipping, I think it's scratch. I found a program but I can't install it. =.=

Ralath 09-22-2008 03:55 AM

mixer?

Hraesvelg 09-22-2008 04:01 AM

If you're talking about what I think you are, its a popular style of remixing hip hop songs called "chopped" or "screw" or both although I don't know what the technical term is. Never really cared for it, myself.

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 04:13 AM

Kinda like this:

at the 55-59 sec mark.

Something like that, maybe? I just googled for "virtual turntable"...but your milage may vary.

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 04:24 AM

I just dled LOL! Gonna try it now *0*

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 04:27 AM

Umm.. wth I can't load a song LOL. Tried consulting the help web thing but the button they told me to look for is upside down and doesn't work O_O

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 04:31 AM

NVM I downloaded a different program but the same people. I think I'll try Hraes' link instead LOL.

Hraesvelg 09-22-2008 04:31 AM

Hmm, I didn't try it, myself. Might I suggest Pirate Bay? There are several turntable programs floating about there.

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 04:39 AM

Okiee thanks

iDerrick 09-22-2008 05:30 AM

Try Virtual DJ. I have the program and its pretty cool.

You can upload two songs into the mixer and mix. You can backspin and foreward spin, stop a disc or whatever. You can even upload your own sound effects into the mixer and mix it in with your songs.

Blaaaaaaaah 09-22-2008 05:35 AM

^ Can you save it after mixing around with it?

iDerrick 09-22-2008 05:43 AM

yes you can.

booyah8876 09-22-2008 08:20 AM
