Ive only felt about 3 or 4, but those were the minor ones. I also lived through the one in 1989, i was just too young to remember it.

Well from first hand experience, when you;re room starts shaking, you'll know its an earthquake. Once you realize whats happening, you get a small sense of panic (if youve gone through as many as me) and try to just sit it out. Since it was small, I didn't hide under any tables or anything, i just waited it out since the small ones normally last a couple of seconds. During the wait, this feeling always happens, it felt as if my heart was trying to jump out of my chest. I guess you can call that a sign of terror. Once the earthquake passed, my heart rate slowly just calmed back down and you slowly think about what just happened. Then I went back to my FFing.

I heard that the best place to hide in an earthquake isn't under a table, but in the corner of a room, because that's the place where things usually collapse last.

Actually, I remember that I really wanted to live in Australia when I was smaller because I read somewhere that Australia doesn't have any earthquakes. xD

Not that I've experienced an earthquake where I've lived yet...
