Simple guide on the most absurd Fiesta patch...yet

Ok, so Outspark wants everyone to do a Full Reinstall of the entire game/client...

Heres a simple step by step guide for an easy, trouble free(hope so) reinstalling...

WARNING: this is only for COMPUTER LITERATE people...im not good at writing a journal so ill make this quick and simple...lol!

1. I suggest you uninstall fiesta completely. do the basic thing...control panel, etc. etc.(you know that step).

2. next uninstall the launcher/s. take note that they have 2 kinds of launchers... Outspark Launcher and Sharp Launcher... which can also be found in the uninstall program in control panel...if you only play fiesta and no other outspark games,i suggest you delete the entire outspark folder located on Program Files by Default.(for assurance...lol!)

3. DL the client at the WEBSITE. which will take about a couple of hours on a decent internet connection...

4. When DL is finished, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER!!!! could have emphasized more but this step is where most people fail. why, because the new client will install again a new SHARP LAUNCHER which you just uninstalled but the computer still recognize that it still exsist untill you restart. so if you install right away, the client will think that you have a sharp launcher so it will skip that part...

5. Finally, after restarting, just do what you need to do...install the NEW client which will also take a while...lol!

there...i hope this will help whomever...happy gaming to everyone!

just post if youre still having troubles REINSTALLING.
:ninja:

Thanks, hopefully this will clear some confusion.

step four was where my computer failed the first time... i ended up with a "sharp launcher not installed properly" error msg, coz i didnt restart my computer

Zodiac 09-05-2008 07:25 AM

I don't know what my issues is i just tinkered with it four only 8 or so hours

BuzZzKiLL 09-05-2008 09:09 AM

well, atleast bijous population will drop some now, lol. outspark has been pissin me off lately........

Ralath 09-05-2008 03:18 PM

Just saw this announcement (and too lazy to post a new announcement thread for it and also because it's relatively "old"):

Quote:

We are currently experiencing network issues with the Bijou server. During this time period, it may be difficult to log in. If you experience disconnection during the first login attempt to the Bijou server, please try reloading the client, and connect again. You should be able to connect on the second try.

Roumen is currently down. If your character login location is Roumen, you will experience an error "Map is under maintenance". We are working right now to fix the issue.

If you use scrolls, warp gates, or teleport to Roumen, the map will not load and you'll be forced to restart your client. Please try to avoid Roumen as much as possible until further notice.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued cooperation and support.[/b]
Don't fail any KQs anytime soon. :sigh:

I uninstalled Fiesta and hit uninstall launcher.

Does that uninstall both launchers or do I have to look for the other launcher and unistall it seperately?

:zomg::lost::hulksmash:

it's a good thing i like the people i play this game with

Spirit 09-05-2008 04:35 PM

I had to uninstall them separately.

Manzcar 09-05-2008 04:41 PM

ohhhh great... guess I'll be searching for Sharp "Boar" Launcher when I get home and uninstall it.

Spirit 09-05-2008 04:54 PM

Some say that you do not have to, but I did just to be safe. I was on my fourth try and didn't want to take any chances.

lamchopz 09-05-2008 06:13 PM

The new client only needs SharpLauncher to function. And since everyone has been installing this client on top of the old one, perhaps the old Launcher is still there, causing problems.

And Manz, look in C:\Program Files\Outspark, everything u need is there.

Manzcar 09-05-2008 06:15 PM

all that was there was fiesta and fiesta launcher... sharp launcher was in there with those?

Man i hate being the anti tech guy.

heres some explanation...

in the past, Outspark only use Outspark Launcher for Fiesta/SoS...

then they released Project Powder which uses a new launcher named "Sharp Launcher".

just before this recent patch, they tend to use "Sharp Launcher" in Fiesta which i dont know why..(maybe for experiment reasons? lol)

so if you installed Project Powder in your computer, its most likely that you have "Sharp Launcher" on your control panel/uninstall programs menu...try sorting the list ALPHABETICALLY for ease...

the new patch/client doesnt install the old "Outspark Launcher" anymore coz outspark wants to use a single launcher for all of their games...

but yeah, DELETING the entire OUTSPARK folder in your program files will be the easiest way for the most...

exactly why people ran into problems. lol

perhaps everyone should form a habit of uninstalling the old version of a program before installing a major update like this. might take a few extra minutes of your life but it does save you a lot of troubles later.

i didn't restart my computer at all through the whole process of uninstalling and reinstalling. maybe that's my problem! :P

Ah, well we've never had a patch that required us to uninstall the entire thing... where the "patch" is not to add to our existing file, but change the entire game folder...

The problem we had this time was outspark assuming that we can reinstall the new game over the old one... but i dont think that has worked for anybody... so their instructions this time was incorrect.

"try patch it like this, but 100% of the time its probably not gonna work so just d/l it again and install it"

they should've just said "please uninstall the game, restart the computer and d/l + reinstall the game"

less ppl will probably have to spend an hr before they found out there's a problem....

lamchopz 09-15-2008 08:20 AM

oh

I was referring to computer programs in general. :D

I just uninstalled Fiesta, downloaded it, restarted, and re-installed. When I open Sharp Launcher though, it says "Checking Launcher Version," "checking version," and then finally "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index"

o-o Does anyone know what that means?

I had that error too for the first time. Did you try running the launcher again? I can't remember what I did, but I didn't do anything complicated to fix it. I didn't need to restart my comp either. I think I just tried opening the launcher a few more times. Maybe try opening your Fiesta launcher and not the Sharp launcher.

Enraya 09-18-2008 12:59 PM

I've tried opening the Sharp Launcher quite a few times now ... no success >w<
Which one's the Fiesta Launcher? o-o Maybe that will work.

Ohh! I figured it out, thanks (:
