I Need Help!!!!!!!!
What should i gain as archer, STR? DEX? or what?:err:
|
Well, the most popular build is 25 spr full str.
|
That or full STR.
DEX won't give you s**t, trust me. I have 50 in DEX, and I'm a terrible archer. |
Dex only contributes to aim and a tiny bit of evasion...
You can get that through scrolls or dex on equipment... but as free stat, it is much more beneficial to put it in STR (for dmg) or 25 SPR (for 5% crit) rest STR... |
So i should only put 25 spr and then all on str? but which one do i gain first?
|
I;ve been thinking about making an archer but don't know a good build so ill just do what you guys said :D lol

From a guy who's tried it, full-SPR isn't that bad.
Of course you hit the halving-cap pretty soon and you lack the armor-piercing potential of STR but I wanted to try something different from all the cookie-cutter builds. Most of the damage I do comes from the DoTs and I kite till everything dies. Pretty awesome SP pool so I spam skills and the m-def is occasionally useful I guess. The cloud of crits with a crossbow and Nature's Mist is pretty awesome too. I wouldn't say it's the 'best' build but just take advice with a grain of salt. Find something you can enjoy. |
Ok thank you guys for the help!
|
Does STR affect your poison?!?!
|
No, STR doesn't affect anything but initial damage of your DoT skill.
|
Ooooh I've always did want to try a full SPR build. But never been brave enough.
|
whats that?
|
What's what?
If you're referring to Loveless's post... Archers get poison / bleeding skills, these skills HIT (200 dmg or w/e) then it's followed by a poison or bleed (40 dmg every second or w/e) So i was asking if STR affects the amount of dmg from the poison of bleed.. Loveless said no, it only affects the initial hit (200 dmg to say 230 dmg) but not the poison... (stays at 40 dmg every second) *Note: My numbers are made up... |
if i remember correctly, the dots damage increases with more spr... can't remember if this was correct or not... I'll have to try it out again with my archer and change my gears with higher sprs with npc ones... then again not 100% sure... goes to test this after class

No the DoT dmg does not increase with SPR...its the level of skill you have i.e. Posion Shot[1], Posion Shot[2]...ect.
lvra the full SPR build sounds good for someone that solos most of the time. I bet its a blast. |
Yeah I enjoyed using it more than when I switched from STR.
Also the criticals in PvP are not to be underestimated. I think a sudden burst of unexpected damage is more useful than constant damage in PvP where a lucky crit can throw them off balance. |
Does it work against fighters your level? I see its 8X so it shouldnt have problems with most people with whatever build it has.
I dont PvP much seeing that my build gets me killed alot. I hit alot but i have almost no evasion so they contstanly hit me, I end up getting stunned, feared, dead. |
ok so double checked with the dmg... for dots... its not spr... my other guess it was int... goes to check

Almost everyone who gets up to that level range has +9ed stuff so if they dev you, almost certain you're dead. Work DoT's to your advantage despite the fact that the negligible damage is offset by their enormous HP reservoir. If you manage to keep away they give up sooner or later, and lucky crits. even kill a few  |

By no means put anything on INT or buy anything with INT on it, INT increase magical dmg, and we do none of that, ours is physical dmg( with an arrow). I only used the nature's mist example becasue thats the only skill i know off the top of my head. --- Yeah but i mean head to head combat. If someone kites in FBZ your pretty much labeled a noob...thats why i dont go in there. |
