Quick reply getting stuck?
 

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Basically, type a post in quick reply... hit "submit post" then the "please wait" circle keeps circling and circling and circling...

It's been happening slightly more often lately... Is it the ADSL at work? Window IE 7?

I'm clicking too fast?

I get around it by clicking "go advance" Then submit post again...

this also sometimes happen when i quick edit a post...

Nope I just used the Quick Reply...

EDIT: Edit button still works...

Yeah, when I try to reply in quick reply it tends to hang a long time but has no problem in advanced. I left a tab open to reply to a post and it was still replying when I got back. I use Firefox not IE though.

Its happened a few times in the past week to me, as well. I'm using Firefox.

is it.. normal?

It didn't use to happen so I wouldn't think so o-o?

I don't think it is? I thought it was just my connection too... wonder if Entropy would know anything about it. :o

I'm using Firefox 3. Had the problem since last week :S It works sometimes, and fails sometimes. Once, I made edits, and clicked Save. It appeared to have changed my post, so I went away. And when I returned to it, it had not been changed.

Connection problems? Or did SOMEONE mess with the BB code???

I'm having that problem too, but only on this computer right now at work.
It works fine for me at home on my own computer...:/

i'm beginning to think that it's happening when my post rather long...

but not 100% sure yet.. i'll keep paying attention to when it gets stuck..

Anyone else think it's a browser problem? Or could that even exist that it only does this with a certain browser?

I'm not sire but I don't think its browser.


Tried it out on latest IE and Firefox and on an oldish version of IE. Still hanged sometimes.

I think that it tends to get stuck when we use some sort of symbols in our post.. like % / @ and the likes...

Well I looked into the vB forums about it, it's a common problem. Just google "quick reply hangs vB"

Couple links that held solutions from what I gather. Of course I don't use vB, so the solutions are just jargon to me.

I'm not posting either links as definite fixes. This post intends to serve as confirmation to admins and users its' not their browsers. It's vB. So no need to fiddle with your default settings if the quick reply bug is unsettling you. It isn't you.

one thing that i noticed too...

sometimes, the message canvas(the one where you type your posts) doesnt allow me to highlight texts to copy...i usually do that when im quoting someone and want to crop some lines out.

but it only happens like once in a while...

hmm really? are u using firefox when that happens?

Firefox has problem with selecting text to highlight.. if its already highlighted, you cant try and click over it... need to deselect first then try highlighting again... (often happens to me when i try to type a new web address)

i just use IE7...no time for FF. lol!

if its nothing to do with the browser, then maybe the site provider is getting some glitches? its not happening always so i think thats one of the reason...

Edit: ok so i made a little experiment... i noticed that only some of the sections doesnt allow me to highlight texts. i just tried it at the Newbie Zone. but the highlight works fine here...

Doesn't work for me at times too...sometimes editing doesn't work either lol...
when that happens, I just give up, post it the next day or a few hours later, then it works..:/ I guess that's an annoying way around, but it worked for me XD
