Help Computer Experts ><

Okay, here's my lovely little problem. My comp is reading about 75~80 degrees Celcius on the temperature monitor checked through nTune. I've read on some forums that that's normal perhaps while you're playing a game.

BUT! This is the temperature I get when I first turn on the computer. :cries: Should I go get it checked up by a computer shop?

Here's what I've got:

HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2.00 GHz
RAM: 2943 GB
32-bit OS

nVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce630M

OVERHEAT probably...

Please let your computer REST about 8 hours (while you are sleeping)
turn it off COMPLETELY as in UNPLUG it if you want but i think thats too much... lol!

EDIT: hhmm...do you mean 1st time you turn on?as in it was OFF for long hours?

Loveless 08-09-2008 08:15 AM

Well, my computer was off the whole day (meaning 12 hrs+) while I was at school... then I came back. It's been like this for a couple of weeks and yeah...

Rof 08-09-2008 08:18 AM

wow...

you need a COOLING SYSTEM then...

buy the ones with liquid in it... not those ordinary fans...

and make sure that theres some AIR circulating in the room or near the LAPTOP.

Loveless 08-09-2008 08:26 AM

Okie, I'll look into those then... thanks.

Next time I'm buying a PC... no laptop D<

Ralath 08-09-2008 08:33 AM

What do you mean by liquid cooling system? O_O

I've been looking at fan cooling systems and... idk. Mixed reviews. I'm thinking about getting one but can't decide which one because for every good review for product X, there's another equally disturbing one.

But I've never heard of liquid cooling systems before. o-o

Loveless 08-09-2008 08:34 AM

Yeah, same here... I hear the bad and the good so I really can't decide. ><

Ralath 08-09-2008 08:41 AM

My laptop doesn't actually get that hot anyway. Not yet anyway (and I've been running Fiesta for a while while multitasking and doing other things). But it would be nice to have something like this:

http://getusb.info/wp-content/upload...01/011107d.jpg

Which I think is very discreet, compact, and clean looking. But supposedly they break down after 3 months or something. I dunno. Mixed reviews ftl.

Or I could get something like this:
http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01..._0490-1-lg.jpg

Which does diddly squat about cooling and looks humongous to carry around but at least it elevates my computer a bit.

*sigh*

I am not a laptop fan, espcially the keyboards xD

Pritcher 08-09-2008 03:48 PM

It could most probably benefit from a good cleaning. Dust and dirt on the inside components is like wrapping them in a sweater and it can reduce cooling by blocking airflow.

If you're comfortable with opening it up, and if that won't violate the warranty, then break it down and clean it up. If you can't open it up then do the best you can to clear the airways with q-tips and buy a can or two of compressed air to shoot through it.

Loveless 08-09-2008 07:02 PM

Thanks, I'm going to go get that compressed air thing first and see if that makes a difference. Last night I went to the BIOS thing and set the virtual memory up to 128MB and seems to be doing a little better...

The cooling systems will only help the laptop ventilate the heat away from itself, but it wont stop the laptop from creating heat itself. If you said you left your laptop off for 12 hours and it still overheats when you turn it on, then its a problem within your laptop. You might have burned something out inside. My laptop overheats alot, but never when i first turn it on. Its definately an internal problem and not a ventilation issue.

AMDs are known to run hot, as well as Prescotts.

Do what everyone else has said, sorry for necropost. xD

ching1 08-16-2008 11:29 PM

there is some problem with fiesta online. it consume too much power, compare to others 3dmmopg like wow. well the graphic aren't that great but i dunno how those Koreans make such game.

seal 08-16-2008 11:52 PM

meh ur fine. if u want u can get a new cooln system in which case da liquid coolr is good but expensiv but ur comps fine. since its a lapper everyting is more bundled togeter. itll get hot unlike a tower. hope dat helpd

Loveless 08-17-2008 01:13 AM

This problem has been fixed. So please don't post as it's just repeating now. Thanks.

Well sure... but it does diddly squat to help the computer actually cool down. No ventilation. =/ Maybe if the fabric was some space-age, high-tech fabric that was able to diffuse heat.... but it's not.

AND (off-topic)

ICY HAS THE COOLEST AVATARSSSS!@!!!!!

But I think if you stare at it long enough, it looks like the girl is running backwards. o-o

Well, it puts a comfortable layer of air, a bad conductor of heat, between the hottest surface of the laptop, and their family jewels ~.~ Whether it actually helps to cool the laptop... hmm.

And what are you talking about :zomg: she's running forwards :goaway:

lamchopz 08-27-2008 06:08 AM

lol. All I see is a girl kicking her feet on one spot (because the ground appears static, that's why)). XD

Loveless 08-27-2008 06:32 AM

Don't spam, this has been resolved for a while now. Even though it isn't a month, don't post in dead threads unless you've got something to say about the OP.
