If someone takes a pee in public you can be sure Google will pick it up:err:

Eru 08-05-2008 02:10 PM

lol, this is a one time snapshot...its not like they are going around trying to find pee-ers ;)

also, while they may update the imagery, it is at a huge cost to them, so its not going to happen too often

I'd be less worried about Google taking a pic of my house and more worried about the phone companies knowingly breaking the law because the presidential administrations said it was "ok"...just my $0.02

this may have been a good topic for the mature section?

booyah8876 08-05-2008 02:28 PM

I should search my house :O

booyah8876 08-05-2008 02:31 PM

My house isn't special enough to have a picture of it.

=/

WHOA

I see my car...

Spirit 08-05-2008 03:13 PM

Is the website simply www.maps.google.com?

Hyper 08-05-2008 03:39 PM

This isn't really new... They've had the street view thing for months, but they just added tonssss of neighborhoods. Yeah, before they only had views of busy streets on major US cities. (SF, Chicago, Houston, NY, LA, etc.)

I for one think this is awesome! >D Apparently they're going to implement this software that switches people's facial features onto other people. 6 year old girl with the face of a 94 year old man? Ftw.

yep...there is a "Street View" button in the upper-right hand corner of the map (by traffic, satellite, etc...)

click on the button, and after it switches you can stalk...ermm...i mean look at any street that is highlighted with blue...

you may have to zoom out to find these if the have not imaged your area, but go to any big city and you'll find them ;)

Lexaeus 08-05-2008 04:02 PM

Sort of weird but um that's Google for you right? Lion King :D

Spirit 08-05-2008 04:32 PM

Heehee, this is as close at it gets on mine,

Ralath 08-05-2008 04:39 PM

I can't even zoom in that far for my little neighborhood nor does the Traffic button show up for me.

Esen 08-05-2008 10:49 PM

Woah o-o There's a school bus in mine. xD And the grass by the sidewalk in front of my house is ugly looking compared to further down the street, haha.

Loveless 08-05-2008 10:54 PM

Google isn't up to date because... when I searched my old house (about 3-4 years ago)... I could still see my big red car there. :P

And no street view in Canada, well at least in Richmond there wasn't any.

Hessah 08-05-2008 11:07 PM

oh crap! That's scary... clear picture of my house...

i didnt think they'd be that quick in implementing that in australia..........

are putting pictures of street view really helping ppl find where they want to go...... =/

Loveless 08-05-2008 11:15 PM

IMO, if you're that bad at following directions and/or reading a map. It wouldn't matter if you get a picture of your destination, you'll get lost on the way anyway.

Loveless 08-05-2008 11:26 PM

Buut yeah... no one will know it's you... unless you tell them... I think.

Esen 08-05-2008 11:27 PM

<-- can't read street signs if her life depended on it (bad vision) nor can she remember addresses very well

I remember things by things around it

"It's near a McDonalds"

"There is a really big green house across the street from it"

"It's next to a construction site"

"You pass by a Starbucks before getting there"

things like that

Hessah 08-06-2008 02:41 AM
