So I went to a water park the other day...

...and I don't know how to swim... Yet, there was this one ride, where it is super high, so the ride looks scary but, when you are actually on the ride, going down is fun and not scary...

booyah8876 07-16-2008 05:15 AM

And you're how old? Oo.

but I know what you mean o.o'

There are some slides that are HYOOJ, then you get on them and it's all like WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!!!! !!!!

Yosei 07-16-2008 05:19 AM

I can swim ^^ taught myself, it isn't hard. I'm afraid of heights, so I wouldn't go on many slides when I went to waterparks.

Flowersss 07-16-2008 05:30 AM

Kind of like a plunge.....ride?

kirbysprite 07-16-2008 05:31 AM

Ummm... age matters when you swim? Anyway, I'm afraid of heights too... But, man, when you go on that super huge ride, your fear goes away in screams...

@Flowersss: You go head-first on a toboggans... Please don't ask me what that is.

I think he just meant its kinda odd not to know how to swim if you're older... You're still win, though. :smarty:

Heights ftl. But I have this weird thing... When I look over something tall, I get a sensation where I feel like purposely falling over the railing/jumping... (No, I am not suicidal! D<)

A hate how the Golden Fate Bridge has such low railings. x_x They're pretty much asking to be jumped.

kirbysprite 07-16-2008 05:35 AM

How old should you know how to swim?

booyah8876 07-16-2008 05:38 AM

I dunno...

but I can't remember not being able to swim...

OH WAIT

I REMEMBER xD

I learned when I was 8~

Grandmother's house ftw~

Hyper 07-16-2008 05:38 AM

Dunno... Most people I know learned at like 5-6... xO

kirbysprite 07-16-2008 05:40 AM

Wow... oh well, the only thing I know about swimming is to keep kicking your feet...

Flowersss 07-16-2008 05:42 AM

I remember going too swimming lessons when I was around 6. When I was 8, I joined the swim team...but lol, I sucked.

Lets just say, my first race/meet was an insult too the human race :)

Hessah 07-16-2008 05:44 AM

I think i learnt to swim properly at about 10....

I use to live in HK and getting to a pool isnt exactly easy (you have to turn up before a certain time otherwise they stop all entries due to overflow of people)

so.. i guess its not abnormal to not know how to swim...

Yosei 07-16-2008 06:04 AM

Doesn't matter when you learn, I just think its a good idea to learn how to swim.

I used a boogy board to learn how to swim. I laid on one and kinda kicked and paddled around the pool, then I got off and did what I was doing on the boogy board and ta da!

But later I learned different methods.

booyah8876 07-16-2008 06:05 AM

In case your plane crashes on your way to Hawai'i :)

A_Forever 07-16-2008 06:15 AM

I do not like swimming.

booyah8876 07-16-2008 06:17 AM

Omgar I loved swimming in Germany~

Esen 07-16-2008 06:19 AM

<-- Didn't learn to swim until the end of freshman year of high school. :x Part of Freshman PE was to take swimming lessons. It was fun, free, and useful. :D

In any case, for me, a ride is not going to cause me to ignore my fear unless I feel safe (in the case of fear of heights) and/or the pool was 1 head shorter than me (in the case of fear of drowning). Since I haven't been to a water park since middle school, I guess maybe those slides would bother me less now. *shrugs* My height hasn't changed, but I can at least swim now, haha.

Flowersss 07-16-2008 06:19 AM

German pools seem extra special too me.

booyah8876 07-16-2008 06:21 AM

^They have no pee is why.

Everyone seriously likes to run out of the pool to use the bathroom...

it was nice~

Flowersss 07-16-2008 06:26 AM

LOOL, so thats why?
hot tubs are the worst in America...I don't understand why the water isen't yellow by now >.>; and OHHH they just love too camp out in the pool and act as if it's a big ass toilet D: At least where I live >.> Too bad I can't just go too Germany everytime I wanna swim.

A_Forever 07-16-2008 06:27 AM

It has been proven that a brick can swim better than me.

Fail.

But after a while of you sitting at the bottom, you'll float back up to the top.

The brick stays down there.

You can float better than a brick~

a.L 07-16-2008 06:33 AM

I can't go to swimming pools. I have rections to chlorine. :/

Esen 07-16-2008 06:34 AM

*hugs Alan*

Why Liz?

I haven't been to a public pool since Freshman year of high school since we had private use of it for our lessons. But, on a cruise, my cousin was saying how she was going to get into a shallow pool to read her book and a kid had pooped in it. @_@"

Flowersss 07-16-2008 06:36 AM

^ Loool. Thats probably the reason wai half the people in the world don't like pools. They're filled with floating terds.

Ohh, me too. That's why I haven't gone swimming in... *counts* About 3 years. xD In sophomore year, I swam with some friends in the local librarian's pool after our volunteering period was over. o-o And well, too afraid to swim in a lake or ocean. o-o"
