Does reading in the dark really worsen your eyesight?
Is that why I have glasses? Or maybe I have glasses because when I was a little kid, I would like to time myself on how long I can stare at the sun...
|
No.
Do it all the time. How else do I read on the bus in the morning? |
i think i might need glasses i play fiesta too long
|
Isn't there sunlight in the morning?
|
Not during the winter at 6am @_@
|
What r u doing in a bus at 6am?
|
I'm not. I'm getting ready. Even by the time the bus is at the bus stop, during the school year, its still dark outside @_@ Heh.
&& I read in my room in the dark, lawl. My dad has to get new bulbs for my touch lamp ._. EDIT: Shouldn't say during the school year...just winter :x Or spring. Whatever. I don't really care about that xD |
Reading in a dimly-lit area will increase the strain on your eyes over time.

It increases the strain on your eyes. You may not notice it at the time, but eventually the strain will catch up to you as you get older. And by older, I do not mean 60s or 70s, just in time it will catch up to you. |
Lol. I dun read much anyway. :P
It is boooooring. I'd rather skateboard, Fiesta, hang with friends, or eat pizza. xD |

Sitting at the computer can 1. Make you near sighted (make sure you look at distant objects like out the window) 2. Make your eyes sensitive to light. |
Guilty on both counts, yosei.
And reading is good, yo - I've probably read more books then my entire Junior class combined. |
Reading in general with or without the use of prescription lenses increases the strain on your eyes. Often, you hold the text you are reading fairly close to your eyes, which at that distance, strains them since your eyes are rapidly moving and absorbing the text.
I note that many book-lovers dispute this. It is the same as using a computer. It can cause eyestrain, which leads to deteriorated vision. Consequently, you should take breaks and read in a well-lit area. Dimness forces your eyes to strain even more, thus deteriorating your vision even more. And yes, I read. |
