Lv. 40 is coming excitingly close!!!! (pats self on back) :laugh:

But, I can't decide whether to go with a Hammer or a Mace. :zomg:

Most guides say Hammer for 2x and 3x (which I've been doing) and then Mace until cap. As for now, I am going Mace.

If it helps, the wep I buy will be +5 or +6 and it will be green.

Dps is much much more along with the added damage from Bash.

Well I guess it's completely up to you. I've been using hammers since the beginning, but now (lvl.48) I'm using a frail (or a mace :/) because of the good stats...Attack rate is faster, but it does seem to give less damage. But I guess it depends on how much you miss the hits. If you don't miss much, then I guess the damage you will give to a mob would be about the same in total...(If you don't really get what I explained here, I could explain further using simple numbers ^^)

So...my comment is....get whatever you can get :P Why waste time trying to get a particular weapon when you could easily get an as good one? :) Green weapons are pretty good at lvl40's I guess..But I may be wrong XD

Always hammer. The missing aim can be fixed with aim scrolls which are cheap.

lvl 40 mace looks cool >.>

Hammer for the most part, but buy both, cause then you will have the ability to trip and bleed, followed by a bash - decent hit combo.

Yes, I fully understand you there. That is why I am leaning more for a Mace!

Having one on, every hour I train:
10 hours = about 4 lvls (for me).
25 hours = 10 lvls (for me).
25 x 120 (aim scroll) = 3s.

PvP players will always tell you go mace +9 and pure STR cleric. That'll do more dmg than a +9 hammer, pure END build like I am.

I'm not built for PvP, I'm made to grind :3

So if you wanna grind, and be out there... hammer is the way... Aim scrolls are nothing...

The only thing that can beat my hammer in damage (non blue) is a lvl 7x axe +9.

Not even the fighter's 7x 2h+9 has more damage than the 7x hammer >.>;

If the Hammer's damage sucks...may I ask what you use for a weapon?

I used maces untill lvl40. I noticed a huge difference in using a hammer. Granted it's only +8 but I npc every mace I get now.

I've tried a mace and the numbers "looks" significantly smaller and doesnt look any faster than a hammer... i cant tell the difference between 1.1s and 1.3s LOL

If you were soloing an enemy with alot of HP the mace might be slightly faster but everything else the hammer dominates with an Aim scroll

Or lotsa dex in gear... i dont usually use an aim scroll even with a hammer now.. i only use it when i fight those mobs that debuffs ur Dex)

if its a boss with lotsa HP.. then find an archer LOL!!

I usually use hammer. I'm using a +9 blue mace now, and its damage is about 400 less than the +9 hammer I was using before. :S The attack speed of maces is higher, but overall I think hammer is better.

i think comparing a BLUE mace to a green hammer is a bit out of context here.... XD

wouldnt a blue mace have a faster attack speed than a green/npc mace by nature?

Enhanced attack speed on a blue is a option, not a feature.

Even though I'm a lower lvl than you I would recommend hammers due to the extra damage they have and higher crit rate which is important due to the fact that crits will do more damage and my build is the 25 spr 50 end rest in str build. My +7 lvl 20 hammer did more damage than my green +5 lvl 30 mace even though the mace gave me +14 str. It's up to you but what you can do is just have a cheap lvl 30 mace and use the lvl 40 hammer and use the trip bleed combo with bash.

If it was me I would use the +9 blue mace due to the extra crit, stats, and the faster attack speed but that's just me.

My friend actually timed himself using a mace and a hammer... and the mace was faster in killing monsters...

Crit more than usual maybe while using the mace, mob HP slotting into that gray area where the mace would be faster, hitting a lower-leveled variation of the mob, Hammer still does more damage.

Perhaps because he didn't use an aim scroll?

For the hammer to be most effective, you'll have to not miss, because it's like a huge amount of damage dealt in a relatively 1-2-3 swing succession... if you miss a hit, then you'll have to wait for another 1-2-3 series to deal damage again...

maces miss less X.x

Yes well we've already stated that if you want to compare mace vs. hammer, you're going to need an aim scroll for the hammer to compare :p

Idk, I think that Mace sounds really good in some ways. But Hammer does too.

I would prefer a hammer. It maybe slow on attack, but powerful

Mace is better when pure STR cleric fights against high DEF mobs (elites or bosses).
But basically, clerics need to heal when do bosses in party.
Lots of high level bosses have AoE stun, so clerics can't fight even if they can survive.

So overall, hammer is win.

But my heal build cleric uses mace. Because he don't need to think about attack power and it was cheaper than hammer. His damage is SUCKS, only 40-50 normal damage to KKP KQ bosses lol.
