FiestaFan to Project Powder Pro Account Transfers

Should Fiesta Fan accounts be automatically transfered to the new Project Powder Fansite? This would mean you could login to the new site just as you login to this one and your name, sig, profile info etc will all be transfered. Or should everyone have to register on the new site?

I don't see why not less of a hassle making a new account then.

ThievingSix 07-03-2008 11:26 PM

Different site, different game. Different account.

Takes what, 5 minutes to set yourself up?

Rof 07-03-2008 11:27 PM

why not only the people who wants to be transfered?

what i mean is...not everyone here will be playing the game...so you have to find a way where a certain member can request an account transfer(its not actually a transfer right? lol).

but...its gonna be a lot more work for you so...yeah, whatever will be the easiest will be good...

Im thinking it would be something similar to copy and paste the database and rename things that need renaming etc.

Exactly, I'm already copying the database over, so it's just a question of deleting the accounts or not.

Hraesvelg 07-03-2008 11:42 PM

Eh, it'd probably just as easy to leave the registration info database alone. If people don't want to go to the new site, they just don't have to bother logging in.

Transfer everyone! Seems like the easiest way =D (not sure what's involved in it tho ^^)

I agree. Not hard to register.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-04-2008 02:39 AM

Yeah, just get us to register again.

fullback 07-04-2008 04:20 AM

I say just re-register.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-04-2008 04:46 AM

More people posted re-register but there are more yes votes, haha.

One thing that I'm concerned about is all the inactive accounts we have on FiestaFan here. Will they be also copied to the new forum? Because it seems kind of pointless and maybe a waste of time/effort to copy so many accounts when many of them are inactive.

Ralath 07-04-2008 05:02 AM

Hrm.

I thought when you said transfer accounts that you meant... just the people who wanted to go over.

Not really fond of the inflated member count if it means transferring EVERYBODY's account over.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-04-2008 05:04 AM

Oh I'm not sure then. I thought copy and paste is just copying everything. I thought that transferring accounts for only the people that wants to would be a really tedious job for Entropy.

Hraesvelg 07-04-2008 05:07 AM

Yeah, cherry picking would be tedious. Just copying the whole thing would be easy. The inactive accounts probably would be a bad idea to transfer, though. Eh. Guess it doesn't really matter that much either way.

Ralath 07-04-2008 05:17 AM

Then... let's just re-register.

._.
