Tips on growing taller.

Well, yea, as my siggy says, I just realised that I have not grown at all for the past 2 years after a height and weight check in school. :urweird:

Dx Anyone got any tips? :zomg:

I tried google but most of them kept on advertising some kinda dumb stuffs for me to buy.

Hyper 06-30-2008 06:41 PM

Stretch more? Hang upside-down from your closet for a long time? >_>" No idea.

Esen 06-30-2008 06:43 PM

Don't go around with a boulder in a your backpack. *nods*

But seriously, erm... No clue. I'm short. xD I think I just made things worst carrying all that weight for 5th to 12th grade though.

06-30-2008 06:52 PM

lol u wanna grow haha ^.^ thats funny
i say get ppl to pull ur lags and head and
make u bigger hehe

viasta 06-30-2008 06:53 PM

do some extracurricular activities that doesn't put a lot, i mean alot, of pounding on your legs, do something like basketball, baseball, or soccer. Do not run if you want to grow, running put a lot of pounding on you. I am not growing as fast as I am now from running because of all the pounding on the knees, I used to grow atleast half a inch every month, now I only grow 1/4~1/3 of a inch every month. Also eat healthy, quit those junk food such as coke, etc. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and meats that gives you protein(chicken, steak). That's what I do, I grew 7 or 8 inches since beginning of freshman year to now, incoming sophmore summer.

06-30-2008 06:56 PM

im only 5'10,5'11 and im 16 ^.^

Sinto 06-30-2008 06:59 PM

o.o I heard that jumping alot also helps.. and I'm 5" 4', male, and I'm known as "Dwarf" in school. D:

Warning_Shot 06-30-2008 07:04 PM

I know a couple of ways, buuut there all extremely painful and are illegal in mostly every country. ._.

In all seriousness, artificial growth is a bad thing. It leads to medical problems such as ostioperosis (brittle bones), malnourushment, and a bunch of other nasty stuff.

So for know, if people say your short, just tell them your "fun sized". xD

viasta 06-30-2008 07:05 PM

no you are not, wth..my school have guys that's 5'2, 5'1. Dwarfs are 5'0 or below.
I don't know any other tips, I could ask my cousin, he's 6'2.

Yosei 06-30-2008 07:10 PM

Well, for one thing, don't slouch :p I dunno what to tell you other than that D: I'm only 5'2'' and haven't grown in the past 3 years lol. I guess maybe drinking milk, eating stuff that helps strengthen your bones?

No need to panic quite yet, depending on how old you are. Guys keep growing into their 20s, and they have growth spurts a lot more often than girls.

Sinto 06-30-2008 07:11 PM

o-o Please do so. x_x Mehh. Last time me and my friends were like, same height, or shorter than me. Then suddenly they sky-rocketed up ahead of me, and I feel like I'm standing in between giants. :zomg:

Hyper 06-30-2008 07:28 PM

Oooh, yeah, no slouching. And drink pleny of milk... And fruits and veggies. :smarty: I don't think either of those do anything (I don't like milk. D<). but worth a shot.

I hate to be the downer... But most likely you're done growing... Especially if either of your parents are short. Genetics ftl.

Haha, I'm taller and younger. xD

Sinto 06-30-2008 07:32 PM

Eh. Now that you mention it, my family IS short. I'm currently the tallest in my family.. and does strawberry milk work? o: My friend told me that only "pure" milk will help. Wondering if that's true...

ThievingSix 06-30-2008 07:35 PM

Milks not going to help to much. If your family is short, tough. Genetics determine how you grow, can change that.

Hyper 06-30-2008 07:36 PM

Building strong bones = making you taller? xD I have no idea. Maybe.

Sinto 06-30-2008 07:38 PM

@.@ Boo.. D: I hate genes..

secbro20 06-30-2008 07:41 PM

I'm 18 and I'm only like 5'9" or 5'10".

I noticed that lots of the athletic guys and girls at my school were taller than those who didn't play sports. Does playing sports have an effect on how tall a person gets?

Hyper 06-30-2008 07:42 PM

^Maybe, but it seems like taller people are are sometimes more athletic, too. Basketball players, for example.

viasta 06-30-2008 08:27 PM

milk doesn't work, it helps you build STRONGER bones, not more bones

Ralath 06-30-2008 09:36 PM

I think Rachmaninov stretched his hand out with ropes or something to reach his chords. Or maybe Chopin. I dunno. I forget.

Anyway. I heard swimming helps too. =/

Belaslav 07-01-2008 12:13 AM

I heard basketball helps.

I heard that's true. Get people to pull your legs and head makes you taller.
There was this show called Brainiac, which did some weird science experiments (like how many times can you fold a piece of paper, or which is better fat or skinny for expample) and one of the expreiments was how to grow taller. They made a guy sleep. Then when he woke up, they took 4 people to pull that guy and he grew 3 centimeters of something.

Hessah 07-01-2008 12:48 AM

it's normal to stop growing after a certain age @_@

XD

secbro20 07-01-2008 01:00 AM

One of my High School teachers was like 5'3" and he was a guy. Really funny and a really good English teacher

a.L 07-01-2008 01:11 AM

Welcome to the club, Sinto.

Triumph 07-01-2008 01:46 AM

Activities that require stretching upward seems to help. Aka basketball, maybe pullups too, for that matter.

My cousin is 6'3 at 16. Stupid giant. He plays basketball.

Ivramire 07-01-2008 01:56 AM

Height is determined by genetics and nutrition?

I'm screwed up then.

Dynamics 07-01-2008 02:07 AM

Grow a tall spirit instead. That's what I do. A towering ego is also great for the short man.

Ivramire 07-01-2008 02:08 AM

I'm the tallest one in my family.

And my father's family.

And my mother's family.

...

i no see genetic correlation D:

Ivramire 07-01-2008 04:16 AM

I'm honored.

Saddest thing is, I'm only 5'11.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-01-2008 04:23 AM

Skipping rope..?

And I have heard about bastketball helping.

My friend said he's about 1.8m tall and he plays lots of basketball. I'm sure part of it is from his genetics but maybe basketball added to it, LOL.

Hessah 07-01-2008 04:23 AM

There's a rumour that skipping rope also helps (like basketball...)

but... but... i think these sporting methods works best during puberty.......

i dont think i'll grow any taller even if i start playing basketball now......

EDIT: LOL!!!!!! I wonder if skipping rope is a rumour around our family HAHAH

Blaaaaaaaah 07-01-2008 04:26 AM

LOL @ my sister. Maybe it's just a rumour within our family.

Females stop growing at 26.

Males stop growing at a bit earlier age (forgot) but in their 2x's.

That's what my lecturer said anyway. My friend who does science at another uni said her lecturer told her different ages, so no idea.
