[Anniversary Event] Mr. Squiggle!

Mr. Squiggle has returned for Fiesta's 4th anniversary! -

That's right, we're all going to turn you guys into Mr. (or Ms.) Squiggle!! Good thing is, you don't have to draw the picture upside down and you don't have to draw with your nose.

To the contest details!

Rules

Submission period: October 1st - October 7th 11:59 PST. Winners will be announced on October 9th!

How to submit: PM the entry to a moderator/admin. Do not post them on the threads. We will possibly post up all the entries after the event.

Number of entries: Each member can ONLY enter ONE entry. Do no create alternate accounts to enter either.

Entry rules:
  • You must draw something that is related to Fiesta.
  • Choose only ONE squiggle from the four we provided you to draw with.
  • You must NOT edit the squiggle.
  • Size limit: Approximately within 700 x 700 pixels range. Doesn't have to be entirely accurate, but we don't want you to submit a 1000 x 1000 pixels picture. We may resize your picture if we consider it to be too big.
  • Do NOT submit in .bmp format please. JPG or PNG or GIF would be good. BMP makes the files too big.
  • Use another colour(s) to draw the rest of the picture so we can see the original squiggle clearly, e.g.
    http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w..._example-1.jpg
  • Do NOT colour your picture. If you colour over the squiggle, it loses the point of the scribble, i.e.

Judging Guidelines

The moderators will be judging for the winners in this contest.

We know that not everyone possess great artistic skills or a graphics tablet, so we are NOT going to judge ONLY for the most well drawn one. As long as you are creative with your drawing and is not afraid to let your imagination stretch, you have a chance to win!! Note that we have specifically asked you not to colour the pictures. We know colouring a picture can make a big difference, and for those who are new to drawing on the computer, colouring is difficult! So, no need to colour. Again, you do not have to draw another Mona Lisa to win this contest. If it's creative, if it's funny, or if it's just plain awesome, you may win!

Blaaaaaaaah 06-19-2008 12:33 AM

May I please remind you all to read the rules before drawing up your entry.

The main point of the rules is to have the original squiggle remain clear and easy to see. Please read the rules carefully before drawing your entry up. We don't want to turn your entry down again and again because it does not comply with the rules. We know it takes effort to draw, so we would like it too if you can get it right the first go.

Hessah 06-19-2008 01:15 AM

I was thinking... that I might use photoshop, and draw my own squiggles in a different layer (and colour)... then put the original squiggles on the top layer so its obvious.....

Blaaaaaaaah 06-19-2008 01:26 AM

Hmmm... does everyone really want to colour?

You have to remember that the outlines don't have a transparent background so you'll have to rub out all the white background to isolate the outline.

But, it seems that colouring the picture is an interest to some members, so I'm going to revise the rules with the other mods first.

Mean while, just brainstorm ideas! =]

Hessah 06-19-2008 01:28 AM

I meant... different colour line for MY squiggle... not colouring....

i liked the original idea about just lines.. makes it simplier... for us non-artistic people XD

Blaaaaaaaah 06-19-2008 01:34 AM

Ah okay, I thought you meant colouring in. @_@"

But yeah, so far I don't think we're going to change the rules for anyone that's interested in colouring. As Loveless had said, it's a Squiggle contest, not a colouring in contest.

Ivramire 06-19-2008 01:38 AM

issit ok to use more than one color for the lines?

Yes.

Just to clear that up, edited my first post:

LOL That's correct.

Hyuroi 06-19-2008 03:18 AM

Ah, quick question.

Do we have to use Paint to draw the picture, or can we use another program like Photoshop?

Hessah 06-19-2008 03:19 AM

I'm sure you can use any program

A_Forever 06-19-2008 03:43 AM

Ok. I take back what I said o.o I'm gonna try o:

Sec helped me understand more things and showed me stuff xD

Soo.. I shall try and get something in D:

secbro20 06-19-2008 04:01 AM

I'm working on one right now. I NEED an answer pwease!:gasp:

I'm kinda thinking you should be able to since Mr. Squiggle rotates his around to make a picture.

Spirit 06-19-2008 04:08 AM

Sorry Secbro. Waiting on Blaaaahs for this one. I had never heard of Mr. Squiggles before, so I am just taking entries and going with the flow on this one. I think she is working on the final touches of our other event, then hopefully she will see your question. I also posted it in our event thread in the mod forum, so if she missed yours, she would see mine.

A_Forever 06-19-2008 04:09 AM

We can use multiple colors right? As long as you can see where the original squiggle is...right? D:

secbro20 06-19-2008 04:09 AM

sis got to the question first.

Yes, you may rotate them. But you are not allowed to flip them.

Spirit 06-19-2008 04:11 AM

Yes, you can use multiple colors to draw with as long as we can see the original.

Also, I think we have decided Yes, you can rotate, but you cannot flip.

EDIT: She was quicker, lmao.

a.L 06-19-2008 06:25 AM

Exit stage left.

Spirit 06-19-2008 02:51 PM

We have a few entries so far. Don't worry if you don't like what you do the first few times, try again. You have until July 9th.

Ralath 06-19-2008 03:02 PM
