Heroes of Three Kingdoms

Heroes of Three Kingdoms

CBT starts on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.
http://hotk.perfectworld.com

Story:
China is in the midst of a bloody civil war. From the countless skirmishes, three leaders stand poised to take leadership and unite the country under one banner. Will it be Cao Cao of Wei, the ruthless Lui Bei of Shu or Sun Quan of Wu?

As a soldier in training you have no affiliations, it is up to you to pick a side and lead them to victory. Determine your play style on the fly with your choice of 18 historic weapons and ride your trusty steed into fierce battles. Non-combat professions will allow access to limited resources not found anywhere else, but make haste, the battle is upon us!

Rise through the ranks and lead your loyal army on your quest to end one of the bloodiest periods in history and unite all of China.

So, yup, another Perfect World game. The CBT was said to start some time in August but seems they've finished it up for mid July. The game is based on the romance of the Three Kingdoms or battle at Red Cliff.

There are 18 weapons within the game that you are able to choose from when you create your character. At level 60 you are able to take on a sub-class once you've mastered your main weapon into God status. You can, technically master all 18 weapons but you can only have a main and sub at any given time. Your skills will remain but will be unusable while equipped with other weapons, the only thing that does remain is the passives of each weapon.

The game is heavily PvP based where you choose to side with one of the three factions: Wu, Wei, and Shu. The battles are, more or less, based off of the real story but the outcome may vary depending on the players.

Going to be playing this while waiting for Forsaken World... the weapon systems sounds like fun. There is a user on forums who has played the Chinese version of the game helping people with their builds. Chose to use Glaive/Ring Blade combo for high HP, attack, dodge, crits, and AoE capabilities. *0*

so flashy *_*

don't know what weapons i'd try. maybe bow and gauntlets. wish the video showed more though. really looked like it only showed 1 or 2 things for each weapon and just repeated them from different angles.

I can't believe they made a game out of this... ._.

It sounds so... historical and educational...

Destrus 06-30-2010 03:44 AM

oh man, they mentioned lubu, i'm practically required to go halberd now.

Lol

A lot of people were like "Dynasty Warriors!" I hear bow is good as a subclass rather than a main because of their low HP. You still get the same skills. :3

Ralath 06-30-2010 05:20 AM

omggg. Makes me want to try. I want to try War Fans. *_*

And Rings.

And Glaive/Halberd/Mace (since I can't really tell the difference between the three).

I watched this old Chinese drama once and everybody in that show used glaive...
