Can someone tell me what they are? what happens when you get them? do i get banned? :(

Basically, if an infraction of yours expires, you are safe from being banned. But that doesn't mean you can go out your way to get another infraction once it has expired, because we can tell when someone is being on a pest on purpose or if they just had a bad day. If we find that a member is being a pest on purpose, we may consider permanently banning them. However that rarely happens (I don't think it happened before.. maybe once, can't really remember).

Edit: I should note that the ones with a yellow icon are "warnings" only. They do not count as infractions (they have a red icon).

Infractions are kind of like black marks. Get a certain number of them (3 I think?) and you may get either a temp or permanent ban. You may receive infractions for a number of things, one is usually issued after a violation of forum rules that follow after a warning.


If a violation is serious enough such as posting pornographic content or posting malicious content (virus links etc.) then infractions may be bypassed and a ban issued immediately.

No, Infractions ARE the warning, you can get 3 warnings before the smack-out.

Not exactly, there might be a warning in a PM or in the thread, merely acts as a caution, infractions are the actual demerit and seperate marks.

Warnings differ. We can choose to warn everyone involved in a thread, or we can simply send a PM warning.

If a thread is getting real spamming by multiple members, or several are insulting each other, then we will more than likely post a verbal warning in the thread directed at everyone. Those that chose to ignore it, will then receive infractions.

If one person is going through every thread and spamming them up, we will send that one person a verbal warning through a PM.

So, it really depends on the situation.

But, yes. In most cases we try to give verbal warnings and/or official warnings before we infract. However, if a person has been warned before for the same thing, even if it is a month later, it is a straight infraction, because they already know better.

What's the expiration date?

They expire 30 days after you get them by default, but we can change the expiration date/points if the violation is something more severe.
