Name your favorite o.s.!

hi! i decided to make a thread for people to name what their favorite operating system or OS as it is commonly called. For those who don't know what an OS is well i feel very bad for you >.< easiest way to tell what OS you are currently using is to look at the bottom of your screen, see that ugly little blue/black bar? that means you are probably using an OS called Windows made by Bill Gates (my arch nemesis) if it is black then you moct likely have Windows Vista (the only Windows that i have any liking towards) If it is blue then you mot likely have Windows XP. If you have a bar at the top of the screen you most likely have a Macintosh (another way to tell is that all the current macs are made out of a metal or all macs that are older than the current ones are white with the exception of the older macbook which could have been black) Macs are my personal favorite! I have 3 (all of which i love :cutielove: )
a small list of other oses i know are
Linux:Ubuntu,Kubuntu,Xubuntu,Gobuntu,Suse,OpenSuse ,Haiku,Fedora,DreamLinux,PuppyLinux
OS/2
AmigaOS
Solaris
OpenSolaris
Minix
BSD
OpenBSD
FreeBSD
NeXTstep
Mach

There are many more not listed here >.< sadly i don't know every OS ever made as new ones are made all the time but say at the very least which one you use (or put blank faces lol)

I use Windows XP and Kubuntu (a Linux distro) and am planning a complete transition to Kubuntu (might take a few years).

I use Macs at school because the Medicine faculty loves Macs. I don't wish to own a Mac, however. lol

distrowatch is the place to find all the Linux distros out there.

It depends on what I'm planning on doing. I run my servers using Debian, but I game on WinXP.

okay i guess i will respond to my own thread! I have 3 macs (including my iBook Clamshell "iheartmyibook" ^_^) one dedicated Windows XP computer and an indecisive computer (a laptop that i can't decide which os to use on it) so far it has switched between Windows XP (its original OS) to Ubuntu Linux then to OpenSolaris for a day or two then to Windows Vista then to Windows 7 and now back to Windows Vista (only reason i stopped using Windows 7 was because i couldn't use wi-fi on it, no working drivers sadly, but windows 7 is GORGEOUS and had better performance than vista)

. /sigh

At school I'm bound to the Mac... designing at school then taking it back home (and vice versa) is a pain. Mac fonts and PC fonts just don't mix.

Vista at home (trade for WinXP, anyone?), and Linux at University.
