Tip for Mages

Not sure if anybody has pointed this out yet, but I found it incredibly useful, so I thought I'd share my knowledge.

I noticed a few weeks ago that I could run while casting Lightning Bolt. How does this help?

Well, when soloing I can gain extra distance between the mob and myself while i wait for my most powerful spells to cool down and not letting him hit me. It is especially effective when used like this:

Ice Bolt/Blast > MM(max) > Fire Bolt(max) > Lightning Bolt (while running backwards) > MM(max) > etc. (whatever spells you have)

The trick is to start running backwards as soon as you throw the fire bolt. Then at any time you can hit Lightning Bolt. Keep running unitl your MM cools down and then start up with the rest of your spells! :)

If you hit with your Ice this becomes even more effective.

If your fighting single mobs and you kite then yeah thats useful but
i stil dont think you need to use highest lvl mm or firebolt.
You can also run with lightening blast...

Just make sure you don't start running into other mobs while kiting. ;)

Maybe I'll play my Mage too if I can run and cast...

Unfortunately, that's the only thing that Lightning has going for it. Other then that, Low DMG, High SP cost, and longer cast time.

And it's useless at higher levels (Read:3/40+), as you can't aoe kite like archers can. Thus, you need to be near the mob to deal dmg, or at least have them in one place.

It's only really efficient at soloing one mob at a time (Which I still occasionally do to save stones[Read: When I'm out.])

ive never kited lol, i hate it >.< but i do have an infinate mage combo
umm ill screen my skills wen i feel like it, the cooldowns an all make it pefect, it NEVER ENDS!!!! Muahahahahhaahahah!!! constant constant spams makes for good crits and with max cooldown on aoe it makes it awesome for keepin aggro in pt's an wen u mess up the combo it saves u, givin u jus enough time for that 1 skill to recharge

I find it funny when people say that about lightening.
Lightneing balst imo is pointless but lightening bolt hits higher
then firebolt for me... and its good when skill spaming....

I thought it was only the archers that could attack/run at the same time xD
Good mages can do too ^^

Lol@ unlimited combo, I find it helpful to Use ice bolt, Lightning bolt, mana burn ( if it has cooled down ) then your very far from the monster that your attacking then use your best fire bolt then spam T1 MM if they get any close use magic burst, thats what I do ;O

Lighting Bolt and Lightning Blast are only useful if you're kiting and taking one enemy at a time. Of course, you also have to watch out for the other monsters around you. I don't bother trying to kite as most of the time I can put enough distance between myself and the monster that I can kill it before it reaches me. Well, provided that my Ice Blast manages to slow it down, otherwise it'll get in a hit or two before I can kill it.
