Then why do you even bother?

How is G____G perfect? AA is right. Don't judge what you don't understand. I've built up my forum posts because I like to spam and talk to people. I don't spend my life here, I've got friends, school, family, homework (=.=") etc. Don't judge me when you don't know my life. The only thing I agree with Tequila is that you should let others play the way that they do. Unless you are their friends and care for them, it really isn't your business what they do. |
Woo, flame war.

Well... uh... hi FiestaFan. (Gee, I feel out of place here...)
I do read the forum, as do several others from "said guild", but most of us do not make accounts because there isn't much here that we want to post about (not meaning to be rude). In our defense, I feel that guilds will probably have different focuses and attract different people, so it is natural for there to be levelling guilds, war guilds, social guilds and so on, people will prefer to be in, and look for, a guild that primarily thinks the same way they do, and people who feel that the guild does not match what they want will probably feel dissatisfied, and/or eventually leave, so cliques of similarily minded people are formed. This is just how everyone chooses to enjoy the game, in their own way. Re: events, involved player-run events are simply not desired much here. The ones we do/did were usually KQ, or levelling-race based. We had two friendly wars with BusouRenkin, if I remember correctly it was Jericho who proposed the first, after our guilds had done a few things together and found that we were mutually fond of each other, despite very different philosophies. Am quite sad to see them in decline now :( Re: Tequila: Actually, I was following hyperswoss's honeying attempts with some interest, and think reasonably well of him, but I guess he just doesn't like me, assuming I'm the "P-person" :p Oh well. (Sorry for being off topic, but the thread came up in guild chat, people were a little miffed, and felt obligated to post...) |

Although, I think we lost sight of the main point about this thread - human health. Yosei was simply pointing out that it is irresponsibly unhealthy to be constantly grinding to the point of utter exhaustion. She is simply criticizing the Game Masters for holding an event that would promote such activity - thats all. After all, its not a good thing for Fiesta if in your local newspaper you read an article about someone dying after being awake for 5 days with no food or water playing this game. You look at china who is facing these problems monthly, and you look at their solution... Internet Service Provider restrictions on games. I'm pretty sure you dont want the rest of the world following this communist-like path because gaming is dangerous for the population (sarcasm if its not entirely evident.) Grinding is grinding, nothing different about it - you can do it as long as you see fit. The main intent of this thread was to bring up the issue of "healthy" gaming (ie. Breaks, sleep, food, water, work, friends, school, child care obligations, etc.) If you game healthy, then you shouldn't have a problem with this thread. :) |
Why do you think Outspark invented CashShop?
The more people play, the more chances that they will buy stuff to gring, enhance, etc. It's profitable to them (Obviously). I mean, look at it. Anyone remember the movie "Thank you for smoking"? Same thing, tobacco companies hook up young teens, and reap the profits. So IMO, this Fiesta "hooking" for cash is just as bad as selling drugs to children. |

The reason I don't like it when people play that much is because that's how stereotypes get made. People will think it's taken your life over, and all videogame players are suddenly addicts if you play for 4 hours one day. If I have a 30 hour window each week to play, I'd like to be able to play a few hours without angering my parents.
That's why my parents don't like games. Those idiotic reports on videogame overdosing on Fox don't help either. I don't like to be grouped with someone who plays for 20+ hours. Yeah, I know you can do whatever you want, and it's your choice weither or not you want to play that much, but if it interferes with going to college/getting a job, it seems like most people would take responsibility. Yeah, it's different for programmers, such as Ghostly. I'm not sure if you are the P-person (I was just told that their name started with P, don't know who it is.), but sorry if you are. >.> That was why I don't like it when people play extreme amounts. Also, I never meant Collision as a grind guild because I always see them around warring in Elderine or just hanging out. I'm not sure if it was one of the guilds others meant, but two other guilds came to mind as grind guilds. And I was just wondering which guild Fireriot was in. |
1. Yeah, Teq's kind of being a hypocrit by comparing us who post on here to grinding. We're not competing to get the top posts, and we don't spend 18 hours on here a day. I come on here like 2-3 times a day actually, and I'm on no longer than a half an hour. Sure Triumph and I had our small posting race, but that was more of a joke.
2. Yeah.. this thread was about the contest possibly encouraging people to grind in an unhealthy manner. I wasn't intending it to bash individuals or guilds. 3. I have nothing against "said guild" or its members. And none of us should unless literally the entire guild did something to you. I have afew friends in that guild, and that is partially why I told you guys to watch what you are saying. We have double the lurkers than actual members on here, you don't know whose watching. You shouldn't judge guilds as a whole, especially when you haven't been in the guild. Sorry Patch if it seemed like we were targeting your guild. And also with Teq targeting G___G. They are just a guild of friends who like to have fun together on the game. They are one of the most peaceful guilds I've ever seen. Guilds are like clubs in my eyes, they can be a bond of friends with a different purpose. They can be serious like FBLA, or casual like an anime club. My guild is more about helping and partying, but we are all still friends who do like to screw around every once in awhile. BUUUUUUUUT, guilds weren't the topic of this thread. I just wanted a discussion on what this contest could do to people. It has already started killing the 50+ community. Since the contest came out, 5 of my friends on Fiesta have quit. Outspark has given us such a competitive contest, with no said time limit, so people have no choice but to get to the target asap if they want to win. People are starting to grind unhealthy amounts of time a day, and starting to forget their friends and guilds for it, ultimately encouraging people to quit. I used to be able to go to Uruga, shout "Hi Uruga! ^^" and have the shout chat spammed with people say hi. Now when I go there and say hi, if anyone says hi, its just one person. Someone actually called me lazy because it was the 3rd day since the cap raised and I was only 61 <.< I'm already higher than the majority of the people in the game, why should I care about getting higher than the other %. Its the damn contest I tell you >_< I can personally say its encouraging me to quit. There's too much pressure to level. I have a lot of friends on Fiesta who are 60+, and I'd love to be able to party with them, or do KQ's with them, so I feel the pressure to level just so I can keep up with them and keep doing those things with them. But then I think thats really selfish.. all they want to do is level, they really don't care about the friends they're leaving behind. Fiesta is no longer fun for those 50+ so I've seen, so I encourage all lower levels to take your time and don't be envious of those who are higher leveled. Its just a grind fest and one big competition. I was going to request that this thread get closed, but lets give it another chance.. and get back on topic. |
