Hey. I give as good as I get.

Yami 04-26-2009 10:51 PM

As far as I'm aware none of us have been sarcastic towards you. That's not really giving what you get is it?

Zwivix 04-26-2009 10:55 PM

I dun like the afro either, but I always hated that girl hairstyle on the guys. If I had a guy character, I would not have bought that hair. I hated it even worse than I dislike the afro, plus an actual skirt on a guy and not the fighter skirts that I always tease Patches about was enough to make me cringe. Plus, I do not think I would like that top even on a girl, so yeah, way too many things wrong with the person in 4, lol.

Amber_Bamber 04-26-2009 10:59 PM

I could've been way worse, I controlled myself, Because I've learned how to.
I don't think I was even rude.

Hazu 04-26-2009 11:03 PM

Passive aggressive behaviour doesn't get you anywhere. Please stop acting like you're the victim. And by all means, if you don't like how I'm running this you can just PM me and let it all out. Or better yet, if you don't like how I'm handling any of what is happening go ahead and PM another mod and report me for it. Make sure to add more than pointing fingers.

Now, if you'd like to continue feel free to move to MoS. Getting back to the actual point of the thread.

Whew, heated debate. Let's cut the hatin'! So from what I gathered..

The Problem - Favouritism

An issue that cannot be completely prevented. Some people see it, some cannot. Those who can see it, cannot always pinpoint the favouritism because we can hide it well, but those who can't see it, is demanding for concrete evidence.

The Factors

Factors that contribute to the rise of favouritism:
  • The community taking part in voting.
  • Entries have not been made "as anonymous as possible".
  • The same people have been entering the contests, hence the "same" people seem to win, giving rise favouritism.

The Big Question - The SOLUTION?
  • Mods/admins decide, so the people cannot vote for it?
  • Entries that are entered must have censored names and URL must contain no evidence of the contestant's name. This should be the contestant's responsibility.
  • People who have won once, may not enter again the next contest to prevent winning over and over. However, they get to choose the next theme (as usual).

Disclaimer

Favouritism will still occur!!

-------------

Serious business time.

For mods/admins deciding, it seems to be the only solution to counter "the community voting makes favouritism" thing. But, I know oh, how well, it's gonna turn out. So it's not gonna happen.

I agree that entries could be kept anonymous by censoring names/making sure URL doesn't have names, but that should be the contestant's entry. Since in the past SOTW/SSOTWs, entries have not been made anonymous, this is actually the first time.

We could give that a go. We could make that as a requirement for entries, but it certainly should not be Loveless' job.

People who have won once cannot enter the next to win again.. well, we could do that. But sometimes SSOTW gets little to no entries, so stopping one member from entering would really have SSOTW lacking.. perhaps. We could try this for a few SSOTWs and see how it goes.

My thoughts.
