Say, Outspark is based in US (i'm not too sure just assuming XD) and i'm here in Australia.. the terms and condition from a US company may not have any affect on us Aussies. It's extremely hard to sue across country... (which goes in line with wat Mages said...)

unless these sites are hosted and serviced in the same country as the game... its a tough caught case... and probably a really really expensive one too...

In GunZ, MAIET Entertainment threatened to sue individuals who owned private servers in both the United States and Europe.

They were based in Korea. The lawsuits are generally expensive, but the threats provide the same results, at a marginally lower cost.

It's not too hard to sue across country, no matter what by agreeing to the ToS you agreed to everything that is written there regardless of where you live.

Hessah 10-15-2007 03:54 AM

if a threat works then by all means.... i wont argue with anything that works

i've studied this area briefly for one semester at uni... and i jsut remembered being taught about this whole jurisdiction thing... kekeke i didnt remember much... but country boundary has a bit to do with it...

for example... like America hv a free speech thing right? (you can say watever u want... call famous ppl names.. accuse them of stuff...) and there's no law that allows u to sue the person who's saying stuff..

in Australia we've got a law for defamation... and if someone in america published a book that accuse an aussie for doing something... the american may be protected by the free speak thing, but at the same time the aussie has the right to sue the person under the defamation law...

so wat do u do there? complication.... i dunno wat happened in the end.. XD the may hv ended up in sueing the person taht imported the books into Australia.. and ban the book from being sold here.. or sth like that...

but just to show u the flow and the complication.. the difference in law MAY prevent one company to sue another...

Well if the book that was printed had a bunch of lies in it than you can sue without a problem.

But I'm pretty sure internet laws work a little diferently than normal ones.

Of course they do.

The United States government is scrambling to find a way to place a tax on internet transactions.

It's pretty pathetic how our government has deteriorated.

Even our money is worth less.

yeah hmm it probably does...

i think they're slowly changing it to protect the producers of the media....

hence kazaa and nepster that kinda stuff are gone... i guess

HAHAH well anyways!! watever works... in the end it just benefits us players....

On topic today I saw a bot spamming normal shouts and it spelled Fiesta wrong which made me laugh, they are trying to make money and can't even spell the game correctly.

Hessah 10-15-2007 04:48 AM

normal shouts? there's a special shout? kekekeke

so they've made the 6 lvls and is doing it in shout mode?
