Better growing up adopted than living in a sub-standard environment with a parent who makes decisions like these. The grandparents really should stop enabling this woman.

Ability to have children =/= fit parents. All the love and good will in the world won't put food in your mouth or a roof over your head.

edit: if my tone's a bit caustic, ignore it.

Honest, open adoptions are usually the best. When a kid finds out they're adopted, which is usually 16-20, they kind of freak out, and might rebel against the family. So if the kids had open adoptions and they knew the situation, I'm sure they'd understand. One of my sisters kids is in an open adoption. He knows we're family, and as he grows his parents will tell him his mom made bad decisions, did bad things, and this was the only way he could have a decent secure life.

Yea, i think open adoption would be best for the kids.
And once they grow up they'll understand that it was for the best. But it may be sad that they will never get to meet the other 7 siblings of theirs if they do go up for adoption.

not neccesarilly. an open adoption would allow them to communicate with their siblings and mom, and know about them, while under the care of more suitable parents.
